This vid revived my ability to pvp in this game. Winning almost every game now with top dmg and kills. All I do is teleport around, outnumbering groups and quickly bursting down low health targets before disengaging.

I know it sounds stupid, but no matter which class i try, the all do low damage and die fast, whereas if the enemy plays it, they seem immortal and very bursty. I know it has to be a "me" problem and not so much a class or build one. GW2 resources are very limited and most content is about builds, rather than how to actually play. I feel like I'm too spammy and rush through all my skills, even though I try to look at what the enemy is doing and outplay them, and then end up autoattacking them. The highes I've been in pvp is Plat1 so far. Not really tryharding because of the mentioned reasons. Just gimping in Gold for pips now.
i agree with yall, i die like in 10 seconds. but watching his commentary on gameplay has helped me a lot. especially playing some more sustain builds to get used to not dying
God damnit, i ve back after a break of 1 year, i always play mesmer, revenant and thieve, and i spend lot of time trying to understand and improve with my revenant. I play power heral, this build. But some times i feel overwhelm, and its couse i didnt understand at all, how it works, reading mettabattle. Imposible odds burn my mind. THX A LOT FOR THUS VIDEO, i think ill stop being stucked with revenant.

Very nice video, very descriptive. I like the class potential a lot but hate how much they changed the (only) viable build. Power Herald despite all the potential is just a mesh: hammer is entirely useless, they removed the block in off hand sword to introduce burst moves that later got nerfed and now is just cluncky; the staff is hot garbage now (the #5 roots you, and staff reduces your damage to almost 0 for ten seconds). The short bow lacks any mobility or block/evading skill, so condi Revs lacks blocks in condi weapons and any ranged pressure. And the class can't use the templates because the game randomly resets the place of your utility skills in the legends each time you move from WvW to PvP or PvE, when you dismount, etc. Rev is just a bag of bugs carried from HoT just due the raw numbers it puts in damage, but instead of nerfing the damage and letting the class to keep the flow it has now is full of clunky moves, almost every legend skill cost 40+ energy units on top of having cooldowns.... You asked in the video why some people is running condition Rev, I'll tell you why: because power Rev is a bizarre Frankenstein's Monster made of broken pieces which is hard and unpleasant to play for most of the players, whereas condi Rev provides good AoE pressure with minimal knownledge. Even Shiro looks slow now...
I'd love to see an update to this based on the current game/meta. I think there were a few comments that are outdated (e.g. resistance doing something different now). But I assume you''ll wait to see what a power Rev looks like with the new legendary option in EoD.
I am now trying out a personal Vindicator(Sword/Sword and Greatsword) Build. I use Dwarf/Shiro combo. Berserker Gear/Weapons(Pack Runes with Battle/Strength Sigils) and Marauder Trinkets. It is fun to play and easier than using the Vindicator one. It is very very fast and bursty.

Since im still learning the class, i use the exact same build but with marauder amulet for better survivability, and to compensate the loss of ferocity i go for assassins presence. Is that viable to you or not enough burst potential ? Probably when i get more confident ill swap back to berserker amulet + notoriety trait, tough
Noticed around 1:06:00-1:06:40-ish that guy was swearing at you. I guess around that, I have a number of guys on my block list due to some very toxic comments/threats. Do you find you can focus better having people like that blocked? Or does it upset your ability to organize with the team?
that specific guy was a fan of mine, you just didnt see what he said afterwards because of chat cover. I find blocking people is a bit over the top because everyone gets salty in competitive situations, but yea if its a recurring thing with a specific player i use the block feature.
isn't Targeted Destruction just 0,5% damage increase per stack instead of 1,5%? 25 stacks*1,5% would be the 37,5% you mention in the video, but the skill says "1/2%", which i'd understand as "0,5%" actually, therefore "only" 12,5% damage increase for 25 stacks of vuln..
your math is all right, but its exactly what i said, i wasnt saying the trait itself gave 37% dmg, i was saying in combination with what vuln already gives
I feel like all the nerfs they keep adding on Rev every single patch for some reason, as if mesmer, thief, holo and every condi class is not broken, has made it very tame to the point it can barely 1v1 most classes especially condi classes, and not to mention the Staff 5, and no more CC damage at all.... doesn't feel super powerful anymore, when that's literally all it can do really. The entire point of the class is getting sustain, out of doing damage, it doesnt have its own sustain, you need to be on target all the time, being effective
i don't think removing quickness would be the play there. but i do think they need to reduce the range you travel with the port and/or increase it's energy cost. i also think glint's heal shouldn't heal for 100% incoming damage. it already makes you immune to damage, it healing for 100% basically goes beyond countering condi builds. it out right punishes entire classes for existing. the argument can be made of "just don't hit them lol" but a necro can't just say "ok torment stacks, stop doing damage for a min."

i guess the class is already hard to masterize so it should be as it is. Staff nerf was already a blow.
Condi Rev is easier to play when facing players who don't cleanse. I guess condi herald is just more noob friendly.
