1. Lack of McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, etc
2. Lack of big freedom trucks
3. Roads too narrow and no highways dividing the city center
4. Not enough parking lots around Walmart, Target, etc
5. No sport stadiums
6. Not enough concrete
7. Missing certain American elements (guns, BBQs, flags, Karens)

I notice a problem I with your heating plant (early in the video):
1. It is relatively small.
2. You're using small tubes (100 m^3) to connect to big heat exchangers (which expect 300 m^3) (or that's what I was able to see at first)
I usually go for the big heating plant, and only reserve the small ones for very isolated and niche locations.
You can also create roads parallel to each other. The quick button F4 allows you to snap stuff like roads and pipes parallel to each other, so try to do a highway or an avenue that way.
Also, you'll want to use complex traffic simulation and harness the taffic lights. They can be very useful to unblock problematic intersections. Sometimes I have to synchronize several traffic lights to ensure a better traffic. Setting good times for each phase of the traffic light is key.
But yeah, I only once tried to give people their cars, and then I revoked their privileges after they failed to properly staff my ~~Propaganda Center~~ Radio Broadcaster.
Using cars is very challenging, I usually ignore it. I congratulate you for doing the experiment though, great work there.
And agreed, the game needs highways and multi lane roads (like cities Skylines) as well as undergroung parking lots or high capacity infrastructure for parking lots.

Damn, its almost like car-based cities are near impossible to prevent traffic in. Wild.
You can make many lane highway by simply building parallel roads. If they're close enough, they'll snap to each other. In later stages of the game it's your only choice as you need 6 lane(3x2) roads to fully utilise the border crossings for export and import. But good start would be snapping two roads to each other and declaring them one way roads.
You could import foreign workers to toil away in the heating plants with busses or use your own people

Just as a tip, you don't need a car dealership to distribute cars to to masses; It automates distribution sure. But if you just place cars in the parking lots, they will automatically be allotted to the people.

Tip. Add single lane roads to the main ones to ADD MORE LANES
For the record, you can assign certain workers to work specific jobs. If you go to one of the houses (make sure the house has workers if cars in this specific scenario), there is a button that lets you force an amount of the people in that house to work at a specific building. It's percentage based, so you can have 50% of the people in X house go to work in Y building and have the rest do whatever job they choose. You can also choose more than one job to force if you want (25% of X house works in Y job and 25% works in Z job with other 50% doing whatever job, etc.). This goes against the premise of your video, of course, but for future reference. This is generally necessary to do, since coal power plants are gross and icky and far away (because pollution requires you to distance them) so you need to do your Soviet planned economy to keep your city going.
In the US, even though much of the power industry is privatized, they have a very strong hand in the business and local governments run public-owned utilities. If the industry fails, people lose power, after all.
Edit: Also, the people with cars need a place to park them near their job. If you fill every parking lot with cars they can't park anywhere so won't use them.

You want to get a moneymaker set up first and there are a few that can get it done. You can mine bauxite ore without any workers and ship it out, and every further tier of aluminum it gets more lucrative. Fabrics is one of the most profitable industries in the game, and can be set up with just a single warehouse full of crops and some chemicals (that other necessary factories like food, livestock, and alcohol also can be supplied from, JDPlays has a great setup for this in his tutorial video) fed by rail/ship import or by farms, which also don't need any workers.
Oil is the next one, exploit the oil fields and you can again export it with no workers, by train, ship or pipeline, but put down a refinery (which has a huge capacity) and you make money on another level. Even if you don't have an oilfield, importing it to refine to fuel/bitumen is straightfoward and profitable. Like importing crops to make food/alcohol/clothes/meat, fuel is another necessity.
The most lucrative industry however, is uranium. It's polluting, requires tons of workers especially educated ones, and is very expensive, but you'll be making money hand over fist. With even just 2 50% quality uranium mines, you'll make enough nuclear fuel at the end to not only power a nuclear plant to supply electricity to your whole republic and have enough leftover to export, but enough to make 500k rubles a month exporting the excess.
This looks a lot like an explicitly communist Tropico with more space and more people and less of a focus on one individual dictator as a character to roleplay. Fun.

There are mods so you can add those fellow American citizen normal americanbrand cars (Ford, Chevy, Dodge), fast food restaurants (McDonalds, Wendy's, Subway), American props, normal sportfield (football and baseball) and normal American detached houses made out of wood (instead of bricks or prefabs) with parking garages.
You could have added more lanes by having 2 one way roads going in opposite directions.
