He’s amazing at creating a character that is really easy to fall in love with but still has depth. And then most of his characters die and you cry. But he really makes you feel something no matter who the character is.
"... you think it's Lou's duty to save Will but in fact it's the other way around". That's true. He ends up saving her more than she saves him. .... Beautiful story but I still don't like the ending.
+Dane Mitch I know, right! It would have been a great movie with a positive, encouraging message if it didn't end like that. I'm glad when movies stay true to the book but in this case, I wish it was different. If the author still wanted him to die in the end, he could have died from complications instead of suicide.
+lisarm100 exactly! To me it's disturbing. Really. It's as if giving up is the option. I don't like Will's values and principles. He's also selfish and a quitter.
I myself would like a good ending but maybe reality is like that >_< after reading the book I began to research more about the topic and it shocked me that many has done that and most of them are not even in the situation that will is
I loved this movie. Sam and Emilia really brought those characters to life. I forgot that they were Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, and that's when an actor has done their job. I cried at the ending. Such a beautiful story, although the ending sucked. I think that disability advocates have a right to be mad, but this story is about one person's experience being a quadrapelegic. His story alone does not count for the many individuals who deal with what he has.
You’d think after years of watching this over and over again ( like more than 10 times ) and bawling my eyes out over and over again then years of not watching it for a long time, i’d be okay and more calm watching this. I stand myself corrected once again AND THIS IS JUST A SNIPPET AND IM IN TEARS . Thats how brilliant the movie is
"The movie starts and you think it's Lou's duty to save Will, when it's exactly the other way around" hit me right in the feels because I remember when I first read the book that was my exact thoughts in the beginning of the book and then it all came together at the end! Ahhhhhh seriously this will be one of the best book - movie transitions ever. So much love right now
at the beginning I didn't like the ending but then I started to think as if I were in the character's shoes and I think the character's motivations are valid
Totally agree with you about not liking the ending, I walked away thinking how could he still do this when this young girl was willing to love him and accept him, but when I saw it the second time, I still thought about it but had different thoughts, and although its still sad he chose to do this, they obviously came into each others lives to challenge each other and Lou obviously gave some comfort to the character instead of being incredibly depressed. And its made me want to explore with my life cause at 43 I still havent lived my life to the fullest.
I think that was the aim of the book, to make you truly reconsider euthanasia, that did actually happen to me after reading the book, to feel the pain of the sick person, but also to reconsider the fact that for relatives this must feel like abondon, it's complicated
He’s amazing at creating a character that is really easy to fall in love with but still has depth. And then most of his characters die and you cry. But he really makes you feel something no matter who the character is.
I was so surprised to find out that Lou's story continues in two additional books. I listened to the audio versions of the books and it felt so good to spend more time with her. Still miss Will, though. Awesome story.
oh my gosh same here ,i was okey i was like mira u have read the book nd u cried the your heart out then u watched the trailer nd again u cried ,so it can't get u this time i mean u know the whole story ,then Ed song ,here we go ,my eyes are filled with tears
Marples Trackoni i can't see why someone as wise and intellectual as you come to see some b rate rom-com with a cheesy song and be bothered to read comments and replied,i think it doesn't suit ur level of maturity and intellectuality. does it ?
+Marples Trackoni As a 4.0 GPA honor student who is graduating a year early, I'd think I'd be allowed, as well as others, to enjoy a movie starring talented actors. Maybe if you took the time to enjoy things, you wouldn't have that stick up your arse so tightly. If you clearly do not like the movie, why did you waste your time watching the trailer and sifting through the comments? You should stop trolling, turn the computer off, and go #live boldly. ✌
I soooo regret not watch this in theaters! This movie is honestly spectacular and the book is even better!!! The movie really follows the book and both are inspiring!!!
The story of Khaleesi after conquering Westeros cannot deal with the pressure of the Iron Throne and turns to the Lord of Light who sends her into another dimension. Daenerys then meets Finnick who survived the attack of mutts but it left him paralyzed. Neville is sent by ministry of magic to go undercover into a muggle family who is suspected of hosting a time-traveller
Yes, it's strange when you whach movies with actors that you usually see in another movies or tv series, and it's stranger for me than for other people because I have read all these books (a song of ice and fire, thg, me before you and harry potter)
I just love this story but the ending was very sad. It was wonderful, I still watch it now and then. God bless who wrote it and all the actors...Well done.xxxxx
Also, it's beautiful in a way because in a sense, Will lives on through the new start he gives to Lou. His love for her remains and something truly good comes from his sad end of life.
even though i hated the ending too, i could understand will. we, the people who can move and live our lives on our own, can't see how hard it is to sit the whole day in a wheelchair, without the power to move. those people sit the whole day and need for everything they do someone. they can't take showers, they can't eat alone, they always need someone who does these things for them. and then they also have incredible pain. they can get ill very fast and i think to live a life like that is really hard, especially when you, lived like will, before the accident, a great life full of sport and travelling and joy and stuff like that. i don't support suicide but i don't think anybody should judge these people without knowing what they are going through. after all they don't commit suicide because someone broke up with them or whatever reason teenagers or other people have. and i think another point for will was, that if he would've stayed alive, lou had no possibileties to live the life he wants her to live. he showed her that she was destined for greatness and if he would have survived she would have spent the rest of her life with will and i think he also was afraid that one day, she maybe regrets that she never travelled the world or made more of her live and blamed him. and if you want to know what her live became after will died you can read "after you". it is really good. not as good as "me before you", but really good.
Daenerys Targerian, Finnick Odar, and Neville Longbottom in one movie together. Aka: when dystopian/fantasy literary characters become contemporary literary characters. AKA: SIGN ME UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THIS MOVIE WILL BE BEAUTIFUL!!!
Sam Claflin is my fav actor . i really love him for a reason . He is photocopy of someone i know ❤️❤️❤️ his smile his way of talking even his voice all are same . thts why i love sam claflin . ❤️❤️❤️
We are really happy with what you've done, thanks so much for respecting and keeping faithful to the book!! Best movie I've seen in a long time. Hope they bring the same team for the sequel
I went to the movies alone to see this n I sat there crying sobbing @ the beach scene and the ending when he's in Switzerland I just loved this movieeee!!!
To those who disagree with Will's choice *Spoiler Alert* - but Nathan states that Will is in a lot of pain and has had to endure lots of shattering illness since his accident. His choice to end his life is not one he takes easily but I can understand why he does it.
Lou is so plenty of live, so kind, funny and beautiful and Will is so charming and handsome... He was also like hers but unfortunately the accident changed all
the most beautiful movie I have ever seen....so touching! The ending could be less heartbreaking, after all she did for him, it made me think he wasn't so in love with her. Did you see his face at Alicia's wedding? It hurt me so much, he still loved her....
to everyone who is watching this video and havent read the book yet, i guess a spoiler alert is needed. so, spoiler alert! read comments with discretion. :D
Sam Claflin is the ultimate leading man. There is something about him, in his smiles and eyes, that just draw you forward.
Yong Grey agree totally. Sam is the man!
He's something else, you can easily fall in love with him!!!!!!
Love his voice. It just soothes me, whether he's being sarcastic or charming
He’s amazing at creating a character that is really easy to fall in love with but still has depth. And then most of his characters die and you cry. But he really makes you feel something no matter who the character is.
*Yep.* He is one cutest creature I have ever seen. Men like this simply doesn't happen in real life :( why why why why why why why
This book broke my heart, made me laugh. And made me think! I will watch the movie. And I will cry forever about it!
el b p. i
just to let you know they left the whole louisa story at the Castle out of it
"... you think it's Lou's duty to save Will but in fact it's the other way around". That's true. He ends up saving her more than she saves him. .... Beautiful story but I still don't like the ending.
I agree with you! I hated the ending. I mean ending one's own life is not the answer. Life's so much more than that.
+Dane Mitch I know, right! It would have been a great movie with a positive, encouraging message if it didn't end like that. +Fatima Mantala yeah, there are even abled ones who commit suicide. but it's still not right. I wanted the book to inspire others.
I cry when I hear Photograph. Every. Freaking. Single. Time.
It's my favorite Ed Sheeran song 😍
same
Photograph is the perfect track for this movie!
Same. Tears

You are so right, I totally agree.
Loved this movie to bits. Laughing and crying all the way through.
This was such a sweet film to watch, with moments of happiness and humour balanced against sadness.
Sam and Emilia give very good performances.
3 years later and I still hate the ending
Cara Calandra Ugh yes me too!
Me too.!!
Me too 😭😭😭😭😭
Wtf....me too
i think everyone wil always hate the ending

Without the ending that nobody wanted to see, it wouldn't be the movie that it is. Powerful and one of the best ever.

I had admired Sam before, more so now, he's always brilliant with each character he plays.. I have also admired Emilia more now 😊
Same 😊
Already crying and all I've done is read the book and watch the trailers
Wait till you watch the movie. Bring a box of tissues
Read d next book "after me" bet you can't stop crying whenever Lou thinks of Will
Okay, this is a great movie..but the the song Photograph just takes it to another level. Love Ed Sheeran
Actually all the music they used are all so good.Dont forget Imagine dragon’s not today as the ost.Cried so hard while listening to it.

and no one comments on the flexibility of her eyebrows? every single one of you is MISSING the point.
My thoughts exactly
I just saw it, and it is as good as they are claiming it to be. If you go see it, you won't be disappointed!!
I sneaked out of my window and ran to the mall to watch this on the day it premiered 😂 ITS THE BEST
how tf did you do that
School day, was it? 😂😂😂
That’s wonderful, who’d you watch it with?
Love this movie, the actors did this book proud, could watch it a hundred times and still enjoy it 😍
I love Emilia Clark tells her story about her Bumblebee tights. She says it like she knows she’s was the jam!
Out of all this all I can say is. NEVILLE FREAKING LONGBOTTOM.
