Then i got rectangular ones there too for 90 as well and they broke, and now I'm so happy I discovered Firmoo, especially because their frames are super stylish and cheap at the same time.
Oh those sound pretty! But it sucks that they broke! When I was a kid, we could only afford the “frameless” glasses. They were so flimsy that they would bend if I just tucked my hair behind my ear when I was wearing them. And those cost $80 at Kaiser hospital! I wish Firmoo had been an option back then.

If you can afford to, then absolutely! An optometrist told me that the anti-reflective coating is extremely helpful, especially if you wear your glasses while driving at night. I also recommend the oleophobic coating. I only get it on glasses that I expect to wear at home every day, since those will have more wear and tear.
Oh no that sucks! I always feel like my eyesight is pretty rough, but it’s -1.25. I helped a friend of mine order her glasses and her degree was about -3 and her glasses looked fine when she got them. Regardless, I really hope you find something that works for you! 😊
My doctor didn’t put that on my prescription, so I left it blank. I believe that the axis value is for people who have astigmatism. So if you don’t have that, then you don’t have to fill that part in 😊

Actually if you have 12 pairs of glasses what you really have is a very nice "Glasses Wardrobe" I'm a retired optician so I can appreciate your love for your glasses and you're right wearing glasses really does add to ones looks. And more glasses you have the more ways you are changing your "look". Having less than perfect vision isn't the flaw it once was. Now many young girls really want that "glasses look" even if they have perfect vision. So for them they can get their glasses off a rack at any number of fashion boutiques. Sadly though some were ruining their good eyesight by buying "over-the-counter-readers" which they didn't have a need for. You may find this interesting. Recently a major university did a study and they found that 74% of the population now either wears glasses, contacts or they have had lasik. They did the same study back in 2008 and at time the percent was only 62% That's a 12% increase in just the past 10 years. Optometrist and ophthalmologist agree that the increase is most likely due to the over exposure of everyone's eyes to so many screens. I 'm very impressed with your choices of eyewear. Usually when someone gets a "haul of glasses" I maybe like one or two of them and not the others so much. But I honestly like all five of the glasses you got. Also you what too many don't do. You made sure that each pair was very different and unique for the other pairs. The first pair is a bit Harry Porterish but they look really cute on you and they are a perfect fit on you as well. What I always used in my working days when I was fitting several hundred young ladies with glasses was that they should never be too wide or too narrow. The eyes should be as close to centered in the lenses as possible. The top of the frame should never ever block or cover the eyebrows and lastly the bridge of the glasses should fit nicely across the nose. From what I could see in your video all of your new glasses are a perfect fit based on what I would look for in fitting you with glasses. The second pair I like because as you said they are trendy looking and I really like how they go from dark at the top to clear on the bottom half. They tend to give the appearance of a semi-rimless look because of the clear in the lower half and they really allow for your face to be seen. The third pair is nice because they have a more elegant and classy look. To be honest they would be what I would expect to see you wearing to something on the formal side where you get really dressed up for. Not really so much as a daily wear pair of glasses simply because they look too nice for everyday wear. The forth pair I guess if I had pick a least favorite pair would probably be this pair even though they look perfectly fine on you. Just not as good as the others. So that doesn't mean that I don't like them just not as much. The last pair I like because the are clear and that means they are transparent and that really allows for your face to be seen so much better than if they were black or brown. The only mild thing is that i wish they were just slightly not as big under your eyes. Remember what I said about the eyes needing to be as close to centered as possible? That includes up and down as well as from side to side. And one thing you never want is for your glasses to be sitting on your cheeks. The only places that your glasses should be touching your skin is on your nose and ears. In looking at all of your past video caps here in You Tube I noticed that you only have glasses on a in a few videos but you apparently take off your glasses when you're making a video because of the glare and reflections on the lenses of your glasses. So when you have been ordering your glasses have you been ignoring the AR coating (anti-reflective) option that you can get for only $5.00? That coating does a really good job of reducing glare and reflections off of your glasses. If you wear glasses pretty much full time you really do need this option on all of your future glasses. It even helps to keep your eyes from getting tired out as easily. Without that coating i'm sure that driving at night is a pain because oncoming car headlights hitting your glasses has to be blinding to you and dangerous as well. You need to get this coating so you can start leaving your glasses on when making videos. You look too good wearing glasses for you not to wearing them in videos. Have you ever ordered any glasses form Zenni Optical (zenni.com) ? I have been placing orders with them for the past 15 years for many friends as well as family and they have a rather nice selection of glasses including prescription for as low as $6.95. One other thing that would be nice for you since you seem to order a number of glasses at one time. If you were to order one , two three, four, five or even ten pairs of glasses you only pay a one time $5.00 shipping cost. many on line sites charge $5.00 shipping for each pair. Even though you have been wearing glasses since grade school your glasses don't appear to be very strong so apparently over the years your eyes must not have changed very much. In fact you mentioned something about wearing the same glasses for over ten years which is surprising because usually when you're young your eyes need an increase every year. I'm guessing that your prescription is only something like -1.75 with a little bit of astigmatism in both eyes? Do you mind me asking what your current prescription is?
That was a looooong comment! But, I truly appreciate the time you took to write all of that. I’m happy that I’ve done a fairly good job at choosing my frames! Thank you! My prescription has improved, actually. It’s now -1.00 and -0.75. PD is 65. I’ve looked into Zenni a few times, but they don’t have as many options as Firmoo when it comes to wider frames. You’re obviously right about young people needing an increase every year, but I didn’t have the option of getting new glasses every year. My mother didn’t have much money, and spending the $30 she did on my glasses was even a lot on her. Luckily my situation has improved quite a bit! As for the anti-reflective coating, I always thought that it was more for aesthetic purposes, but now that you’ve brought the night driving issue to my attention, I will definitely choose to include the coating from now on! I always wear my glasses while I drive, even though my prescription isn’t very high, so the anti reflective coating sounds like a necessity at this point. @@ZiyaScholz Thank you for replying. Yeah I know I tend to make my comments sort of a novel. Sorry about that. Interesting and a bit unusual for your eyesight to improve at this time in your life. Do you remember what it was before it improved? To be honest it kind of sounds like you might have been over prescribed at some point. Was the decrease from the same doctor or a different doctor? If it was the same doctor then you probably did have a decrease. But if it was from two different doctors then doctor number one most likely over prescribed you. Over the years how many times have you heard that you should never wear anyone else's glasses because it will ruin your eyes? Well now you know that isn't true is it. So just you know any of those glasses with the higher prescription is still okay to wear if you still like the frame. One of the many things I learned as an optician was that nearly everyone can see just fine with glasses slightly stronger than they need. I had a young optician working for me. Our store all of the employees were given a free pair of glasses of their choice every 6 months. She would go in an get her eyes examined by our doctor and come straight out and pick out her glasses, then write up the order for the lab with an additional -.50 added on each time. I asked her why she was doing that and she said because she knew she would see even better with her glasses being slightly stronger. She never seemed to have any problem adjusting to her glasses. I wasn't sure if you were aware of Zenni or not but if they don't have the selection you want then I agree with you completely. Yes I have been with the Lions Club for about 40 years so I came across a lot of people that simply couldn't afford glasses. It sounds like you might have been able t get help from the Lions club back then with getting eye exams and glasses. Even today i fond out several years ago that most of the young people that work in the food industry and only work on tips don't have health insurance. I was shocked tha the local sports bar that I often go to with several old friends none of the servers had any insurance and admitted to me that they needed glasses but couldn't afford them. I arranged for them to get eye exams for $10.00 and ordered their glasses for them from Zenni that were under $20.00 including the AR coating. Currently they have 12 employees working their and I have gotten 8 of them their glasses and one is going just before Christmas to get her eye exam so she can get her first pair of glasses. I'm very glad that your situation has improved so you're now able to afford glasses more easily. That AR coating actually tends to show more fingerprints and smudges so you may have to clean your glasses a little more often but it's so much better for your eyes because reflections and glare cn actually make your eyes feel tired. And i'm sure that once you see the difference you won't ever want glasses without that coating again. Just so you know that coating sells for anywhere from $45.00 to over $100.00 depending where you go. Most insurances won't pay for it because they consider it as being cosmetic which might be why you were thinking it that it was for looks. By the way even though your prescription isn't very high at all I don't think you would be able to pass the DMV's vision test without glasses. You're close in your -.75 eye to being 20/40 in that eye but the -1.00 eye is closer to being 20/50 or 20/60. Next time you need to renew you driver's license you can always try taking the test without your glasses, but be ready to put them on if you fail. But i'm sure even if you passed you would and should still continue wearing glasses when driving. So do you wear your glasses pretty much full time even though you clearly are able to see pretty well without glasses if you wanted to. But with having so any glasses anyway why not wear different pair every other day or so. And as you can see wearing glasses isn't going to do any harm to your eyes.

lol it’s easiest if you already have a pair of glasses that fit your face well, and then to just measure those. That’s what I did! And I added a few extra mm to my measurements because I needed a little extra space. You can even use the measurements from a pair of sunglasses that fit your face the way you like. 💖 I hope that helps!

No problem! My links are for the wide option, since my head is pretty big. Lol but if you need a smaller size, go to the menu on the upper right corner and choose women’s glasses, then scroll down and you should see the “filter” option on the right. From there you can choose your measurements and even the shape and color that you’d like to see. They even have a “tortoise” option in the color section.
I think my face shape is round. But, I don’t worry about my face shape too much when I buy glasses. I just know that I need BIG glasses since my face is pretty large.

That coating does a really good job of reducing glare and reflections off of your glasses. If you wear glasses pretty much full time you really do need this option on all of your future glasses. It even helps to keep your eyes from getting tired out as easily. Without that coating i'm sure that driving at night is a pain because oncoming car headlights hitting your glasses has to be blinding to you and dangerous as well. You need to get this coating so you can start leaving your glasses on when making videos. You look too good wearing glasses for you not to wearing them in videos.
Have you ever ordered any glasses form Zenni Optical (zenni.com) ? I have been placing orders with them for the past 15 years for many friends as well as family and they have a rather nice selection of glasses including prescription for as low as $6.95. One other thing that would be nice for you since you seem to order a number of glasses at one time. If you were to order one , two three, four, five or even ten pairs of glasses you only pay a one time $5.00 shipping cost. many on line sites charge $5.00 shipping for each pair.
Even though you have been wearing glasses since grade school your glasses don't appear to be very strong so apparently over the years your eyes must not have changed very much. In fact you mentioned something about wearing the same glasses for over ten years which is surprising because usually when you're young your eyes need an increase every year. I'm guessing that your prescription is only something like -1.75 with a little bit of astigmatism in both eyes? Do you mind me asking what your current prescription is?
That was a looooong comment! But, I truly appreciate the time you took to write all of that. I’m happy that I’ve done a fairly good job at choosing my frames! Thank you! My prescription has improved, actually. It’s now -1.00 and -0.75. PD is 65. I’ve looked into Zenni a few times, but they don’t have as many options as Firmoo when it comes to wider frames. You’re obviously right about young people needing an increase every year, but I didn’t have the option of getting new glasses every year. My mother didn’t have much money, and spending the $30 she did on my glasses was even a lot on her. Luckily my situation has improved quite a bit! As for the anti-reflective coating, I always thought that it was more for aesthetic purposes, but now that you’ve brought the night driving issue to my attention, I will definitely choose to include the coating from now on! I always wear my glasses while I drive, even though my prescription isn’t very high, so the anti reflective coating sounds like a necessity at this point. @@ZiyaScholz Thank you for replying. Yeah I know I tend to make my comments sort of a novel. Sorry about that. Interesting and a bit unusual for your eyesight to improve at this time in your life. Do you remember what it was before it improved? To be honest it kind of sounds like you might have been over prescribed at some point. Was the decrease from the same doctor or a different doctor? If it was the same doctor then you probably did have a decrease. But if it was from two different doctors then doctor number one most likely over prescribed you. Over the years how many times have you heard that you should never wear anyone else's glasses because it will ruin your eyes? Well now you know that isn't true is it. So just you know any of those glasses with the higher prescription is still okay to wear if you still like the frame. One of the many things I learned as an optician was that nearly everyone can see just fine with glasses slightly stronger than they need. I had a young optician working for me. Our store all of the employees were given a free pair of glasses of their choice every 6 months. She would go in an get her eyes examined by our doctor and come straight out and pick out her glasses, then write up the order for the lab with an additional -.50 added on each time. I asked her why she was doing that and she said because she knew she would see even better with her glasses being slightly stronger. She never seemed to have any problem adjusting to her glasses.
I wasn't sure if you were aware of Zenni or not but if they don't have the selection you want then I agree with you completely.
Yes I have been with the Lions Club for about 40 years so I came across a lot of people that simply couldn't afford glasses. It sounds like you might have been able t get help from the Lions club back then with getting eye exams and glasses. Even today i fond out several years ago that most of the young people that work in the food industry and only work on tips don't have health insurance. I was shocked tha the local sports bar that I often go to with several old friends none of the servers had any insurance and admitted to me that they needed glasses but couldn't afford them. I arranged for them to get eye exams for $10.00 and ordered their glasses for them from Zenni that were under $20.00 including the AR coating. Currently they have 12 employees working their and I have gotten 8 of them their glasses and one is going just before Christmas to get her eye exam so she can get her first pair of glasses. I'm very glad that your situation has improved so you're now able to afford glasses more easily.
That AR coating actually tends to show more fingerprints and smudges so you may have to clean your glasses a little more often but it's so much better for your eyes because reflections and glare cn actually make your eyes feel tired. And i'm sure that once you see the difference you won't ever want glasses without that coating again. Just so you know that coating sells for anywhere from $45.00 to over $100.00 depending where you go. Most insurances won't pay for it because they consider it as being cosmetic which might be why you were thinking it that it was for looks.
By the way even though your prescription isn't very high at all I don't think you would be able to pass the DMV's vision test without glasses. You're close in your -.75 eye to being 20/40 in that eye but the -1.00 eye is closer to being 20/50 or 20/60. Next time you need to renew you driver's license you can always try taking the test without your glasses, but be ready to put them on if you fail. But i'm sure even if you passed you would and should still continue wearing glasses when driving. So do you wear your glasses pretty much full time even though you clearly are able to see pretty well without glasses if you wanted to. But with having so any glasses anyway why not wear different pair every other day or so. And as you can see wearing glasses isn't going to do any harm to your eyes.
How do you select a size? I’ve been trying to find glasses that fit my face for so long and didn’t know there was sizes?! Help! I’m tired of wearing contacts lol
lol it’s easiest if you already have a pair of glasses that fit your face well, and then to just measure those. That’s what I did! And I added a few extra mm to my measurements because I needed a little extra space. You can even use the measurements from a pair of sunglasses that fit your face the way you like. 💖 I hope that helps!
On the website I’m not seeing different sizing. For instance for the tortoise shell glasses, can you get them bigger? Or is it just one size? Sorry this is a bit confusing lol
No problem! My links are for the wide option, since my head is pretty big. Lol but if you need a smaller size, go to the menu on the upper right corner and choose women’s glasses, then scroll down and you should see the “filter” option on the right. From there you can choose your measurements and even the shape and color that you’d like to see. They even have a “tortoise” option in the color section.
