You didn't do the water test after applying the finish, what do the finish was supposed to fix the missing coating... It looked like it did from the discoloration but you didn't run the towel on it again.
If you go down this route you'll be trading the scratch for a small dent. The dent is less visible when the screen is on but it's up to you which you prefer. Be prepared for a lot of rubbing, I'm talking like 1+ hour.
@@wonked damn that's a lot of rubbing I'm a busy man so I don't have time for that unfortunately I may send this phone to OnePlus they said they can replace the screen for £127 maybe I should get it replaced I don't wanna risk rubbing the coating off
I did not use protector on my iphone 11 because the phone I used before never got a single scratch ever so I took it casually and now I’ve noticed that this phone’s screen is fulllll of scratches and it’s driving me crazyyy. Is there anything in the world that can fix my screen?
Unfortunately the only way to fully fix it is to do a screen replacement. Or you could put a screen protector on it now and it might mask the scratches.
@@salliesmith497 Hi, if you're still looking for a screen, you can try UV tempered glass (such as : whitestone domeglass, or buy a loca solution, glass and uv light separately for cheaper). The Loca glue will actually fill the scratches and they won't be visible anymore.
@@napacher6994 thanks a lot. I’ll try that for sure but I’ve put on a matt protector for now and almost all the scratches are concealed. Only the deepest ones are visible :)
@@wonked Hi, are you saying the first tube sands it down, or the second 'finish' tube? Your video clearly shows the effect of the first, but I think the question is 'does the second/finish tube help restore the finish?', to a degree at least.
@@Kemp.C I honestly don't really know what the difference between the first and second tube. From what I can tell the finishing tube doesn't appear to restore the original coating on the screen =(
Looks like I'll be doing this. Ever since my screen got scratched I've put a screen protector on my device so the oleophobic coating isn't an issue. 20 usd for a fixed screen works for me.
I also ended up putting a screen protector on after doing this. Make sure you don't try to use a glass one. The glass ones doesn't adhere to the area where the scratch used to be anymore because that area is slightly lower leaving an air bubble. I used a thin plastic one and that worked, but you still see the dent.
@@resinds.p4898 I know I'm super late to the party you can try a glass protector with liquid UV adhesive (the kind that needs to be curated), it should work perfectly as the adhesive has the same optic properties as glass and should fill the depressed area perfectly.
THIS. It nearly always makes it worse. Pencil eraser at most. Anything more is going to cause damage. Note to self: put a screen protector on your phone right when it comes out of the box.
Honestly, products like this aren't worth $40+. Just sell the paste separate. You don't need the stick or the tiny papers, just use microfiber cloths. I regret buying one of these kits.. Update: The kit didn't even work well, still has a lot of micro scratches and cracks. Might as well buy a new screen if you're going to be spending $40+.
This video should of been titled "How trade deep scratch for screen dent "
should HAVE
And lcd damage
Mans been avoiding your comment

Anyway if you are changing screen why don't have a try 😜.
Spending more on replacing screen u can have a try.
I have a deep scratch on my OnePlus 7 Pro it's driving me crazy I'm looking for home methods before I get a new display.

Yeah screen replacement will be better.
Just use a screenprotector with THICC adhesive.
Bro same problem I'm having nord and I got scratch today🥺🥺🥺🥺
Its like removing a layer of the screen?
Yup, that is correct.
Isn’t it you push hard on the screen it damages the screen?
If you don't push hard on the screen it doesn't seem to do anything.
Does it also work for cracks?
No unfortunately this is not for cracks =(
Ok =(

Hi. Did the finish help oleophobic coating anyway? I think little scratch is better, than worn off oleophobic coating.
It basically sands down the scratch so it will remove any coating on the glass.
@@wonked that's a funny, and thus, a very enthusiastic way to remove a scratch.

Now its worst then bevore now you can see a polish point around that scratch....And your safety layer is now broken from the touch screen.

It's lost it's coding?
What?
Thx
It's a dent, not a scratch.
лол у меня пиксель 4xl даже не падал уже такая глубокая царапина
I guess
just try nail polish
No
Nail polish doesn't remove scratches it can just make a thing that can prevent some of them but not deep ones
@ nothing removes scratches
@Saiyan Prince I tried both, nail polish will just fill the gap, not solve the problem. Other options don't work
Christ what a disaster! 👍
