You mentioned it's higher OG than expected, were your official calculations perhaps factoring in the starter?

Great catch mate! If you’re referring to the recipe doc I’ve now corrected that! Had a couple wrong numbers in the gravity section! Came out at 4.8% in the end OG 1.046 FG 1.009

Funny dudes!, good video! I have just started looking at glycol chillers haha. I have had a fair bit of luck with the 34/70 yeast under pressure for my lagers if you're feeling brave, I am drinking one currently that was under around 7-8 psi and fermented over xmas on the mid north coast so pretty warm (although cooler than usual). Do you ever do any ciders? I feel like not a lot of people do because it's next to impossible to make a good one before using kegs to carbonate letting you back sweeten a bit. I have a few go to's that the wife insists on that I'd love to share a recipe and see what you guys can do with it if you are interested

For sure mate send that recipe over! I was thinking about doing some ciders soon, apple picking season is March so may swing through some local orchards and get a bunch for some fresh cider juice

Whats the reason for the volume change between hops additions.. volume as in literage

Probably would’ve just been from the boil off, at the start of the boil you have more volume and as the hour progresses a lot of that volume evaporates due to heat

Yeah get that but at 4.41 at the start of the boil you put the bittering hops in and its half full . And at 4.54 at flame out you put in the flavour hops in and its full
