Amazing video! Thank you for making this. Beautiful creatures and beautiful photography. The pandas are going home this year but we can see them in your excellent captures here again and again. It’s such a good edit with the description of the species too.
Thanks so much Evelyn, that’s really kind of you to say and much appreciated 🙂 I must admit it took a wee while to get all the shots and but it was great fun making it and I really wanted to highlight just how many species are so vulnerable. Thanks again for watching, best wishes, David
Thanks Robert, that's really kind of you and very much appreciated. I think it took me about sixteen visits to get all the footage, but it was definitely worth it and brilliant to see the animals at different times. Thanks for watching, best wishes, David :-)
Thoroughly enjoyed that! I'm one of the volunteers and live over in Fife. I'm looking forward to getting back for a visit on 12th May. I have missed the place way more than I could ever have imagined, and it means a lot to me as it is as it helps so much with some mental health issues as well. To be able to explain to people how valuable the natural world is to us and how important the conservation work done by zoos like Edinburgh is, not only to the natural world, but ultimately to our own well being will be a joy to get back to!
Thanks so much for your lovely comment Simon. Visiting the zoo has helped me a lot to get through the last year and I'm so glad that it helps with your own health. They do amazing work and that's really why I wanted to make the video. So much is hanging in the balance, but I believe it's starting to head in the right direction and places like Edinburgh Zoo will be right at the front of the change and action required. I hope you enjoy your first visit back on the 12th May. Warmest best wishes, David :-)
Hello David! Thank you for sharing this & for reminding everyone how important it is to support conservation of our cherished wildlife. So lovely to see your stunning zoo and gorgeous animals who reside there. Hope you're keeping well and looking forward to your next video! 😊
Thanks Janet. It took a long time to get all the shots and filming through glass brings some very big challenges. Hope you can visit again one day soon. All the best, David :-)
Awesome vid of the zoo miss the zoo must say been donkeys since aye was there might have to go back to see it agin great work david stunning capture of the animals and must say cracking views ya get there at the top
Thanks so much Alan, hope you've had a good week. The zoo is doing some amazing conservation work that's so vitally important now. Whether it'll be enough is very much in the balance now. If people knew just how many well known species are just about to disappear I think they'd be shocked and, sadly, it's mostly as a result of human activities. I don't know what the answers are, but at least Edinburgh is trying to do something. Thanks again for all your support Alan. I always deeply appreciate it :-)
@@DavidWheaterScotland your welcome david as always and yea edinburgh is definitely doing great job for sure and yea its definitely a shame as what us humans doin to mother nature but its zoos like edinburgh and many more in the world are doin there best to do what's right what we have done wrong
Thanks so much Chloe, I'm so glad you liked it. This was a real labour of love for me, as I'm very concerned just how many animals are now endangered. Edinburgh zoo is doing some amazing work and there's real hope that we can turn things around. Hope you have an amazing day when you visit. All the best, David :-)
Hi Martyn, I really fear, that unless we step up to the plate, our descendants are going to be appalled at what we've allowed to happen on our watch. I really rather wish there wasn't a need for zoos, but Edinburgh is doing some stunningly good work that will slow down extinction rates, poaching and habitat loss. The problems are so complex and I pray we're not too late. Thanks as always for the kind words. Have a lovely weekend, David
@@DavidWheaterScotland on a positive note, albeit a small one, there have been improvements over the last 30 years or so, hopefully we will keep moving forward...have a great weekend...
@@martynjg Yes, you're quite right Martyn. Sorry if I sounded a little pessimistic. It's something I really worry about. My dad was chief warden at Murchison Falls National Park for 15 years, so it's something close to my heart.
Another beautiful film David. The studies of the animals behaviour are great and the picture quality is superb as always. Also the little snippets of information makes this a very informative film and I think would be a great teaching aid in schools. The soundtrack is also perfect for the images. Keep making these lovely films.
Thanks so much James and apologies for the delay in replying. I loved making this film. It's a place that's really important to me and working on it really helped me get through the last year. I must admit there have been some very uncertain moments, but there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel and I hope to start filming again very soon. I'm heading back to the Highlands on Monday and I'm sure all my enthusiasm for filming will come flooding back. Can't thank you enough for all your kindness and support. Best wishes, David
So relaxing... could watch the penguins for hours. Perfect video after a long day at work. Thanks for sharing!! (Cheers from Magdeburg / Germany, where Roberta, the lioness was born).
Thanks so much Sandy and apologies for the delay in replying. So glad you enjoyed it. It was a real labour of love and something I really enjoyed making.
