- The Princess pays homage to THE VOICE & Queen of R&B, Ms. Whitney Houston. Listen to Monica (an alto) sing the classic just like Whitney (mezzo soprano) but in a lower key. You Give Good Love was the song that launched Whitney's legendary career and was a #1 R&B hit back in 1985.
I just feel like Monica need to do at least three more albums.

Educate the children lol. But try to limit vocal classifications to classically sung music. The way people manipulate their voices to sing R&B/Soul/Pop/Rock/etc. can be misleading.

@tonebro Monica is very good at what she does brandy can sing, correct and she had good hits, but when compared to Monica, she doesn't come close. Monica feels what she saying, and she has great stage presents like Whitney had. she is the better artist all around.

She's a very talented and respected singer, and Monica will agree. Whitney loved both of them, so let's not make this into a contest. Truth be told, Brandy's involvement with Monica's new album has given her the biggest buzz since it began, so let's not be negative.

@PZiggy25 Please, Brandy's catalogue is far more adventurous. Monica can sing, but her sound is limited. She's afraid to try new things, and Brandy is not, so Brandy easily trumps her in terms of versatility.

@overit83 No, she chose Brandy because she was talented, stop making up LIES. Brandy was the 2nd African American to potray Cinderella in a major TV production. That alone outshines much of what Monica has accomplished, no offense.

Is that so? IABTM IS on Monica's album. Just check the track list. It was monica who picked that song out to begin with. It was an R Kelly leftover, and he gave it to her. And it was also monica's idea to have this song be the reunion duet with Brandy. IABTM received more promo than any other single from the album, and I'd also say most people didn't even know about new life until the IABTM promo kicked off. So I'd say Brandy's inclusion on IABTM had quite a LOT to do with new life.

I don't remember her mentioning anything about needing special permission from Clive for that at all. Still, the fact that she avoided contact with Brandy for whatever reason until she thought the time for a reunion duet says a lot about her character, IMO. Makes monica look a bit like an opportunist to me. If I had it my way, I think Brandy should've picked the reunion song. I definitely think it would've been better than what was chose, but it's whatever...What's done is done.
