Very well instructed. Searched the links you've provided for pinion nut tool with no success. The pinion nut tool would be perfect for this repair also the drive shaft adapter tool. Have those links expired?
Did you end up finding this tool? Unsuccessful with the links as well and have ran into the same issue. I’ve searched countless times but cannot seem to find the proper tool nor part number.

We are here to answer questions though. You may need to adjust your cable located on top of inboard engine.
There is a safety pin that secures a copper barrel that can be lifted up out of plastic housing where you can then adjust shift cable ever-so-slightly.
no I think it's the lower unit, when I go spin the shift rod it spin freely, and propeller spin freely also. thnx for responding back
