I was thinking the same thing! Their older albums like paradogma were awesome, but their last few albums kinda sucked. This release seems like a return to form. Glad to see i'm not the only one hearing that.

Very few catchy riffs compared to previous ones.
I think you have to admit Cast the First Stone is pretty catchy.
Yea that is perhaps the best song in this album.
Doesn't change the remaining songs though.
In this particular case, I'm in agreement, as I like groove and melody to balance the aggression, but, believe it or not, some people love raw aggressiveness more than anything else. For me, the main issue is that this album sounds pretty generic without their signature catchy riffs. l
my biggest complain is the riffs with constant guitar pauses , it take out the momentum of the songs.
agreed. previous albums much brutal and aggressive. they had similar epic brutal intros like Behemoth in one way. but this stuff is still good too. \m/

sto disco non mi piace per niente, dei vecchi hour of penance non è rimasto nulla; non si capisce qual'è la direzione che il gruppo voglia prendere o se si stiano adattando alle esigenze dei nuovi generi djenty. sta di fatto che ogni riff è staccato dagli altri e non si legge una narrativa chiara e decisa; il sound inoltre è piatto e vuoto, niente in confronto a the vile conception
