I was a 4th generation born in Jehovah's witness. Married at 19, divorced by 24. Married another JW at 26, divorced by 32 when I left. Since then I have been married for 23 years to a never JW woman. Still very happy. Marriage in the religion isn't what works.
Excellent observations Sven. Spot on! I absolutely couldn't stand the judgement, gossiping, gaslighting, the pushiness back in the day. Boy, I don't miss that! I think as a result, I am a little bit too private now. It's fine with me.
Thank you. My husband left and I stayed at that time. Out of the blue at a meeting I had an elder come up to me and say about my husband " I suppose he is very active in bed." I was speechless. My husband was the only man that I knew, how should I know what active in bed meant. The Elders definitely interfere where they shouldn't.
I agree . JW elders were not helpful when my parents both baptised JW were clearly not compatible. They were ever present with scripture but caused division. This led to greater issues and no skills or tools provided to deal with emotions and feelings. I have respect and love for my parents and can see the configuration that led them to be vulnerable to JW . They were both batshit crazy at times , I am one of five siblings . It was always advised they stay together and divorce was a sin . The whole family went through hell. They both got freedom , separated and it was healthier for all. It was a lot of added pressure and stress to family dynamics to attend , prepare for meetings and keep the appearance of being perfect and what I see now as you explained , my fathers was de masculated and both controlled . This vid shifted me from resent toward my parents and I see it from their perspective . Thankyou💜
I knew an old lady JW whose husband wasn’t in. So she placed WT magazines around the toilet, under his pillow, and in the cabinet where he stashed his liquor. Wives whose husbands were not “in”, did go to the Elders very often and as I observed, were flirty, giggly, and coy. They loved their marriage problems so they could tell Elders. Elders’ WIVES, however, did not like that the women rushed to their husbands and you could SEE the anger and jealousy on their faces. YOUNG unmarried women, if smart, would avoid talking to Elders about any friendships or love-interests because those Elders WOULD use their imaginations and attempt to pry. If there was a love interest (infatuation), the couple would be chaperoned or kept apart completely. Girls and boys always went around with broken hearts. -- Old men married young women. And sisters often would run to handsome Elders and cry that a particular “sister” was “stumbling” her, often getting that other female in some dramatic judicial hearing over the color of her dress, just so the complaining female could get a bit of attention from a married Elder. And yes: the WT god is always in the marital bedroom. You never have privacy or fun. They “frown on” divorce unless of course, one of the spouses gets ds’fd. Then it’s “Adios”!
It’s not just “worldly” husbands that are affected. I was a JW, was a MS, we both were pioneering, heck we lived in the KH apartment. But I came home one day to find a couple elders having a chat with my wife. Apparently I was not ‘spiritual’ enough so she went running to them.
My mom became a JW as an adult. My father was very much worldly, and at first he was against her going to the meetings, but she went anyway, and by time he realised it was not so bad and JW people are not bad people, so he let it be. We the kids looked into the JW teaching but rejected it as it is all just hand picked bible quotes and too much GB worship.
My wifes family tried to gang up on me at memorial time in my own house, used their own marriage anniversary party to gain access to me to lay the guilt trip and try to intimidate me, At that time i set my boundaries and dont associate with them until they leave that religion!
My Wifes Family dont believe Im Head of Family, They Believe They Are by Their Actions, Head of Family Teaching just more things they teach but dont apply!
Im about to leave a relationship with a witness. To have other men tell my wife how to think and how to act is insulting. At that point, she might as well marry them.
My aunt was married to an elder, one who preached all he didn't practice. Ended up cheating on her with a "friend" of mine. She was excommunicated and shunned and he denied any wrongdoings and continued being a pillar of the community who months later married a supposed pioneer friend of my aunts. It's full of so much hypocrisy. Elders are fond of do as I say, not as I do. The amount of gossip and disgusting behaviors they'd engage in, I just laugh at what they think their Jehovah would say about their actions. It's just a power trip for them and a way for them to pry into the private lives of those in the congregation. Like sick fetishists.
Loving God would have Forgiven Adam and Eve and not Tested His Perfect Creation to Begin With! He Knew they would fail the Test, He Knows the Beginning from the End., The Alpha and the Omega!
A good relationship needs both parties to contribute to it but Adam had nothing he could give to God except his loyalty. That was all that was asked of him. It wasn’t a test but an opportunity to give of himself.
God is love but He is also just. He must be just or He is not God. He cannot just forgive sin. There must be a price to pay, if an earthly judge simply were to “forgive” people’s crimes and let everyone go free without paying the price for those crimes that judge would not be considered just. There must be a price to pay for sin and that price was paid by Jesus Christ.
JW is a false teaching and should not be followed. I did notice at the end he said follow God or whatever. There is only one way to the True God. Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except by me.

Luckily me and my wife agree on the witnesses but wifves family are still in, so we have that shunning dynamic!

Strange huh and humiliating. Your her man, not some creepy elder
@shiftyourmindset2 that's why I'm leaving. she can marry that creep if she wants to listen to a man.

Talk about Charles Taze Russell.
Answer: terrible.

you should shift your mindset about the husband being the head of the family. men and women are equal and also healthy relationship is 50/50
me or in general? because men and women are equal in my believe
