Ross you are an amazing man, I starter learning from your video lesson ,it took me about 3 weeks to master all the exercises and now i am pretty fine in reading sheet music god bless, liked and subscribed , i have 2 feedback
1.exercise 71 , i think there is mismatch between what you played and wt is on screen may be sheet is misplaced with exercise 72
      2. exercise 89 ,you played c note in 5th measure , i think this should have been c# since we are in the key of D maj or F#min

WOW! Ross, this is an amazing contribution to the genre of beginner music/guitar instruction. Like Aydin below, I am an "old" guy who has finally committed to learning guitar. About 55 years ago I was given private guitar lessons as a youngster and was overwhelmed by theory and what seemed like tedious, marginally relevant instruction. Had I only been more disciplined then I might be an artist of reknown ( I wish) today. At least I am on my way to becoming one who will be able to play ones favorite songs. I am on lesson 13 of this video now and am sure now that I will stick with this regimen until I know it by heart. Thanks for your help. SUBSCRIBED and looking fwd to learning much more.

I like your remark. I think these dislikes are shocking. maybe some people are jalous of those who show qualities that they don't have... such as generosity, excellence, free kindness, etc. They don't know that they can start practicing them right now.

The constant insertions of promo product are extremely annoying and don't match the mellow pace of the instructor. This I noted, but didn't "dislike" the video. You ASKED, I told. Also some "free" things are not worth the opportunity costs or other "costs" they usually come with. Here, for me, it's the same stuff I learned long ago, but was curious as to how it might be taught in modern times. Obviously it's taught with far too many "ads" thrown in by the maker. Folks act like it was a selfless act---not at all, there are financial rewards for those who generate good content and for those who drive traffic to their pay-walled options. These options are better than no options, but they are far from altruistic. They are, however, often good enough for folks, self-learners generally, to advance their skill sets. And that's good. Any more Q's?

This is great I wish more guitar players would learn how to play by reading music. Reading music and chord charts are various sensual and guitar playing. I started reading music in 1983 picked up a guitar the first time in 1974 still play today at the ripe old age of almost 70. I do quite well with a guitar. My fingers are still in great shape. I admire people like you with excellent teaching skills not watching just fingers and knuckles, but actually watching someone teach a guitar in a very excellent way. Thanks for your videos. I appreciate you a whole lot. Have a great day.👍🏼👍🏼😄🎸🎸

Thank you so much for these lessons, these are gold for free. The example being played is everything here. I'm learning to play guitar, I was suggested this video a few months ago, and at first, I thought "I was looking for song tutorials, not really this" but then I thought: "well why not?" I really used to struggle and hate this practice at school, when I had to play it with a flute. Now, being 29, I got so interested, it's a pretty wide range of beats and measures to try and memorize. Thank you Ross.

Thank you, SO MUCH!!!! These kinds of "sight reading" lessons ARE SO IMPORTANT: To be able to train One's eyes, and brain to recognize the individual notes, etc. then to find them on the guitar fret board, and play with the correct fingering technique, and to get the timing right, as well!!! I will practice these many many times, until it gets EASY, and I can go grab a tin whistle, harmonica, or recorder, and play along as well, just to try reading it, and playing other instruments, (in the key of C Major)! This is REALLY Helpful!!!! Thanks, again!!!

Hey Ross! I finally finished! I picked up the guitar after twenty years of no playing. I decided this time instead of faking it; I would learn to apply the music so I could apply it to the guitar. I've been through many of the exercises several times and will, I'm sure, go back and review. I've also gone through the Music Theory that you generously shared.
I'm now looking at other instructors and picking up little bits here and there. Biggest thing is I have callouses on my fingers! Thanks again, Kate

Nice one Ross, do you know how refreshing it is to see & hear someone using a nylon strung classical/Spanish Guitar?
The amount of time you have put in to record these 100 exercises for the benefit of others. You need commending for your effort, it's a kind thing to give up your knowledge for free. Most decent of you. I started on a nylon strung Alvarez which i still have to this day my father was a big guitar collector and so like father like son. It's a regular ocurrence to see players, who can play quite proficiently but cannot read music. Being able to read and understand the Tab is a serious advantage and enhancses your playing abillities. Again on behalf of those that haven't said it,
    thank you Ross.

This is brilliant and really helpful. I am coming back to music after 40 years so I am finding it difficult. Can get the right notes or the right beat but both together needs a few practice runs. I only have a harpika but the early lessons are great practice for any instrument. I guess as things go on there will be notes my instrument doesn't have but hopefully I will be much better by then. THANK YOU!

I learned how to play guitar since 11 years ago and i'm still learning and want to keep learning even more :) I learned by ear and by watching videos though.
That being said I did start with youtube videos, and despite all the ads you hear about it not working, it definitely does work , because I started out learning things like Iron Man, Smoke on the water, and most Metallica songs that start with a slow acoustic intro, and from there I learned how to use my pinky finger one day while playing the song Sweet Child O' Mine, and progressed to even further stuff :D
Now that I've gotten all that out of the way, i'm very tempted to pick your book for these lessons and learn how to actually read music, that way I can keep broadening my horizons and learn even more styles and way to play :)
