What a film. Denzel and Goodman at their best. Boy, do I miss old Hollywood, full of original ideas.
Once again. Not an original idea. The book of Enoch. Get it and read it. One of the hidden books of the Bible. All of this is in the book. Everything to the name of the Demon. The Lady even mentions the falling Angels..

One of the most under rated films I’ve ever seen. Amazing performances from every actor. Absolutely gripping from beginning to end and filled with some of the best story twists.
Denzel is one of THE greatest film actors in film history and he is so good in this. A perfect Everyman when needed and a fantastic ‘character’ when called for.
I’m always left with the chills after watching this particular movie.

So glad I watched it though. I love OUR old Hollywood era, because all the acting is gone. More reliant on a green screen and airbrushing, than talent. In too many movies.

Out of all the movies theyve remade and made sequels to, this is one that deserves a sequel. Great movie
But it's a shame Denzel Washington's character died in the end because it would have been great to have him in it again where it's supposed to be all these years later but I don't want it to be Denzel playing the nephew when he's all grown up .
Actually they could have a sequel : think about it ... they could have it so that he actually survived the poison cigarettes that made me messed up his lungs a bit but didn't completely kill him and that he almost died and that's why the demon left his body and went into the cat .
Yeah they really could do the sequel where Denzel is now living in 2024 and somehow they were able to prove that he didn't do what he was accused of when that woman lied and more witness against him when the guy was shooting at him first ... it could show other neighbors who were there saying that the woman lied and that they all saw that guy shooting at him first and they could make it look like they thought that it was obvious that John Goodman's character deliberately went out of his way to kill Donald Sutherland's character who went up there to help Denzel .
... well maybe they can make it work I mean that would be if ... well the only way it would work is ... and I'll continue in another comment
Because of the problem with the two cops getting shot the one shooting the other cop and then Denzel using his own gun ... I don't want to have to scroll back and watch that part of the movie if Denzel used Donald Sutherland's gun on John Goodman's character then it works and they could have a sequel ... I think .
@gardensofthegods They could definitely make it without Denzel in a sequel. Make his nephew Michael B Jordan or someone. The story itself was fantastic. They really stuck to who Belial, aka Azazel truly was and could be.
This was always a favorite supernatural thriller of mine growing up. The cast and acting was memorable.
Stop scrolling, YES, watch this movie, it's a very good one.
The scene where his brother just says "I love you, Johnny." brought tears to my eyes. It was so wholesome.
John Goodman is such a great actor. Forgot him and Denzel were in two movies together. The other one is called FLIGHT!
The female detective in the office also plays Lou's sister in The Sopranos. Tony and Janet Soprano. Pretty cool

This movie is a total mindfuck. Just about perfect in every way, from Denzel to Donald and John Goodman too. Amazing how a movie this well made gets forgotten but now that I've seen it, I know I'll never forget it.
The scene in the police station where the demon jumps from person to person is a masterpiece.
Great movie, so many hidden gems. With a twist at the end that is to die for. I thought Denzel Washington did an excellent job with this classic movie. Thanks for the upload.

One of Denzels best that is rarely spoken of probably because of the demon angle, but it is a classic . . . "the time I almost died!" And the soundtrack is perfect . . . "pleased to meet ya!"

One of my favorite Denzil movies. The theme of good vs. evil and how Satan works through people is an important understanding to have.

This is exactly how demons work. Pizza man with letter 17? This is a disclosure movie. This is the spiritual war we are fighting. Put the protection of our creator over yourself, your loved ones, your property. Then demons cannot enter the Holy Temple ( our bodies ) filled with the Holy Spirit. That is the truth demons do not want us to know. They are afraid of humans when we know how to humble our hearts & pray for God to protect. Unfortunately the ORGANIZED churches are controlled by Satan, so they spew fear porn. It is not humans end times. It is the demons end time. Did u notice the demon threat? If you know don’t tell anyone. Keep their secret? No. Spread the word. Tell it to the world. Humans are eternal beings. They r not. We have nothing to fear when Holy Spirit is protecting us. Do not fear.
It is only important to understand if you are a parishioner of Abrahamic belief systems. There are over 3,000 religions known to mankind. Most of them do not believe in the hierarchy of heaven or hell. There's absolutely no substantial evidence to suggest that Satan exists or Jesus, for that matter.
Our homosapiens species are animals. In nature, there is no such thing as good or evil. Everything is either positive, neutral, negative, alkaline, or acidic. Negative doesn't mean evil or ill-intent. Positive doesn't mean pious or angelic.
This movie was shown at our church couple years ago. Our pastor taught us some valuable lessons from this movie.

Every one complaining abut this movie. im enjoying it 1:30 into it. and its solid. acting solid the plot is solid. (each to there own tho. its slow so it's not gonna be every ones cup of tea)

Back when this came out I thought it was pretty damn clever and I still do.
It's 2024 and only just watched it. One of those films on the list of films I've been meaning to watch, then totally forgot about. So glad I watched it , thanks for sharing.
Evil can come into people. Maybe not the way the guy transferred it from people to people but we can see and even feel dark evil. The devil is the god of this world. That is why we must put on the armor of God through prayer and repentance. Washington is a great actor.

His slow brother in the movie son survived. They should make a part 2 where she adopts the boy teaching him about it all becomes a detective to track it down. B. Jordan would play the role good.
That's actually a great concept cause she talks about there are others who are fighting they could explore that more but I don't think Michael b would be a great fit his not a good actor more of an action star.....all of that money they are wasting on a stupid super hero movie they could make a pt2 for this one just has to be written well

@@kannikarpettersson4471 The convict getting executed was a black magic voodoo priest so when they killed him his spirit needed a host...then his spirit changes between hosts just by the smallest touch. So it's actually the convict taking over the person 1 to another to another. But if the person he's in dies and there's nobody around for his spirit to attach then he finally dies!! Hope that helps

I don't know the number of times I've seen this movie but I'm just now coming to realize the young girl confronting Hobbs is the perfect casting kudos to the cast and crew.
