Those chants start at least 30 minutes before the game and go on through the whole game nonstop until after the game. When you go to an ultra section you will sing and jump for 2-3 hours nonstop.

Yeah, those are flares, can be in any color and smells pretty bad. Sometimes shit happens and some fans throw them into the pitch. And all those are brought in by the fans, always disguised into something that's overlooked at security.
Also, some clubs are in touch with the fan groups to organize big "pictures" on the stands. And we call them sports clubs because they usually have many sports unlike America which has franchising.

It is crazy but when you experienced it ones you will understand why everybody joines in.

I think the Great Depression played a part in why it never took off in America. They had the offer to host it as an exhibition sport at the 1932 Summer Olympics in L.A., but felt it would have cost too much to do so. They had decent semi-pro leagues back in the day, and the first World Cup had only been played two years earlier, where the United States took third place.

I'm talking "sand lot" league. We kept getting promoted to higher leagues and after only 9 seasons, we were promoted to the fully professional English Football League. Last year, we movd into our brand new stadium in Wimbledon. We own our club and fans (elected by fans) run the Board. We are ore than customers. We are a unique story in English football.

just a few comments. the fires are not part of the stadiums. those are flares. illegal to bring them but they somehow get them in. when they all jump in unison the structures have to take this. those large stadiums are designed to take the stress - older ones are strengthened to cope. some sway up to 4m in one direction. there are videos showing the stadium literally jumping up and down and swaying. when Europe countries play against each other the WWII can still be a big issue and becomes part of the chants and the game. unfortunately. Lots of emotions can be brought into those games. while the player keep it to the sport the fans can turn on each other in chants, songs or ultimately street fights. Ultras are ready to die for their clubs - literally ! What you don't see in the videos is the police presence - can be thousands of police placed around the stadium, depending who plays against each other. crazy all right sometimes!

Football (soccer) has been in the U.S. since the as earliest the 1860s. There's just never been a structured league system that lasted long enough to grow. From the 1930s to the 1960s there was no professional top league for the sport in this country. Just a bunch of amateur leagues and amateur clubs running their own local leagues with no money to try and start a top national division. North American Soccer League ran from the 60s to the 80s (went bankrupt) and eventually Major League Soccer formed in 1994 and began playing in 1996. Still a thing today with 28 (I think 28) teams within the league. Making it the largest (from what I know) top professional football league in the world (to my knowledge).
Also the United States has 4 professional Leagues now. Major League Soccer which I mentioned, the United Soccer League Championship, United Soccer League (USL) League One and the National Independent Soccer Association (probably won't last long, they have issues financially, and their most profitable team left to join the USL Championship).

Those fire things are like flares and they r not part of stadium they are from fans that they sneak it inside cuz in Europe every soccer team has its own anthem like they own song and every team has normal fans and then they also have these die hard fans that are actually dangerous and are mostly in a separate part of stadium like in huge cages surrounded by police and security cuz they be throwing flares and flare bombs and setting real fires inside breaking everything sometimes fighting opponents fans singing the anthem going wild they wear masks cuz they break in and are even on the road with the team everywhere the team goes they go to the team literally has busses for them so they can afford to come they don't pay for tickets they r literally part of the team they are hooligans and help out the team so much with morale and energy. They have to hide their faces cuz of the damage they cause to stadiums and to ppl they fight if they can break down the cages. Every time before the game starts early in morning they get organized and march to the stadium so they just let them in cuz u can't stop them cuz how u gonna stop like 50 thousand plus wild ppl filled with adrenaline and alcohol and plus the team wants them inside the stadium for moral and emotional support they literally make the team play harder and better that's why during COVID it was so hard for teams to play and they were loosing games that they usually would never loose cuz they didn't have that edge of emotional fans giving their team hope and morale and energy to fight till the end and never give up
