Yes, you name it, we all want "the old" (vocally) Dave and the genius of Alan Wilder back. Those days are gone, yet we can still enjoy and celebrate the incredible monument of synth pop music from their 1983 to 1990 phase. This, at last, we will have forever!
I was at the August 5th 1990 date at Dodger stadium. 55k were there to celebrate my birthday that night. Since the i have seen every tour and have attended 32 shows. I like to think they have been the soundtrack to my life. DM for life.
I used to have listened to various kinds of music without having a favourite band or artist. In 2007 I bought their best of and this song especially made me a fan. That changed my life. Last year I saw them live twice. Their music will accompany me my whole life.
17 year old upload.. damn.. we were all a little younger when this was uploaded. Awesome performance from the band holy shit. Surprising auto quality for what it is.
I'd love to travel back during this period of time and catch em on tour. Especially see this song live. I personally don't like Gore's most recent live version. This song is great.
the setlist for this tour is just ridiculous, classic after classic

@PeteRoy that is bullshit... alan and the rest of depeche mode contributed, so it's all under their name and they can use whatever content they want whenever the hell the want. if your reasoning were actually true all depeche mode concerts these days would just consist of acoustic versions of their songs
He's still got it, sometimes. Probably has wrecked his voice a bit after almost 30 years of singing like this (oh yes, young ones - Dave started singing w/DMode in 1981!)
@alanwilder81 If Dave could sing the way he did 20 years ago...he MIGHT be able to pull it off. But his voice has gotten weaker over the years unfortunately. Martin FTW!
I wish dave would sing this more!!!! I miss this song!

DM for life.
The best pop song of all times. Period.
I saw the same concert in Tokyo's Budokan in 1990, what an experience!!!!

I love This song because is beautiful ❤
Best DM era, ever.
This song always brings me back. I love it!!! I don't listen to DM as much as I used to, but I still think they are great.

I was there. I think I can spot my 16-years-old hand in the first rows. Those were the days… (of a vocally excellent Dave 😢…)
They need to do this song again live on the next tour! And no acoustic version!
thanks Mr Alan Wilder
Best voice ever , the best band DAVE GAHAN 💖😘
i like Dave Gahan version...in last years this song is played by Martin...
So do I. :) I wish they'd played this version of this song after the World Violation tour.
They were so... so f*king cool! Where is all that now??!
Ever since Alan Wilder left the band they don't do this kind of electro music.
freudentränchen wegwisch...echt schön:-)
Omg!!
do you think Fletch works out the one finger he uses to hold down that single note?

the mission is: stop dave's leg!!!
Here is my plea...alan come back..
Original 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That's too bad, this was always my favorite DM song that never appeared on a proper album.
i dont know what i should say. 1000 percent Dave vocal is better. nothing gonna change my mind

you know that when they made this tune he was still in the band?
Dave
@JaveDMode The original version has music that belongs to Alan Wilder who left the band, that's why they don't do that anymore.
"cocaine is a hell of drug !!!!"
David is soooo much better
