Micheal K. Williams aka Chalky White suddenly passed away on 6 September 2021. He was a great actor, may he rest in peace in the afterlife, his memory will be cherished forever.
You forget how brilliant the music and the beat and how sexy those songs were , you get so engrossed in the story. Well the music is as all conquering as the story. Pity its ending.. The clarinet , YES!
This show has been brilliant from it's conception.Every episode, every season. The cast is perfect.Never in many decades have I enjoyed television so very very much. The result is spectacular. This is entertainment.
YEEEEESSSSS! Thank Yooo Miss Veronika! I hoped somebody would UP this. I replayed this like 20 that night. O-M-G THAT CLARINET GAVE ME CHILLS! What a band! What a scene! I would have been hangin THERE EVERY NIGHT for the Clarinet Man! You SO get good karma for this kind act Miss V! LOL
♀ man if I lived in the 20's and 30's I would have bobbed my hair, bought beaded dresses and bags and been a BAD GIRL of the 1920's! HELL YEAH ♀ #obssessedWithAllThings1920's #1920s #1920style
+~Whitewolf I got chills to when I saw this scene. Something about the "cooking" rhythm that reaches its peak 52 seconds in. I'm not sure if I'm hearing trombones leading or the sax but the blend & rhythm is just magical. I imagine the musicians swaying their instruments back & forth in rhythm to the music. The perfume of the dancing girls doing the Charleston. I grew up to Traditional Jazz & Big Band while being bounced on my Grandfather's knee. Now as I inherit his 5000+ record collection, Boardwalk Empire has given me renewed enthusiasm to begin recording & preserving all those 78's that are there. I wish the series went on forever because for me it was a total immersive experience with the music being an equal part of this amazing show. I wish there was a place like Disneyland but instead everyone was helping to recreate Boardwalk Empire. I wish they could have bought the set & left it somewhere so we could all dress the part & experience a club like this. Is there a club like this on Earth that still plays this kind of music? If so I'm on the next flight there & would probably become a regular part of the scene.
@@eclipsemedia5593oh for REAL! I’d be there in a heartbeat! On this one he makes that clarinet climb to a peak and scream! They were like the lead guitarist back then 😎. Congratulations on your new record collection. I’ll tell you one thing I’ve noticed, when the music scene is lost, the fashion scene gets lost too, until the music scene sorts itself out. Whether people realize it or not, we have a soundtrack of our life. When it lags… so do we! ✨🤭✨
@@eclipsemedia5593I’m also a little upset Michael Pitt was killed off, the main reason I showed up at first. I think everybody was fantastic in this series. Sadly, I don’t think we get enough well done series set in this racy era of the roaring 20’s The Lost Generation. They looked to me like they may HAVE, been lost, but they really LIVED! I love having a fascination with this time period!
The scenes and singing with Margot Bingham from Boardwalk Empire are memorable. Margo has a great voice which makes me wonder why she is not a Headliner like a Whitney Houston or Diana Ross.

Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks [the back up band] play every Monday and Tuesday night at Iguana [240 W. 54th St. NYC 212 765 5454] Boardwalk Empire's 11 piece band make the 1920s roar again !
+bixlives I'm there next time I make a trip back East or if you come way out West again. Either way I'll be there with my devoted request for this song. Thanks to you & Boardwalk Empire for a new obsession in music. I think with all the media focus on the 1920's (Downton Abby/Boardwalk Empire) a new generation is focusing attention like a lightening rod on this fun & carefree time. We've done the 60s & 70's 80s. Can just imagine flapper fashion coming back & dapper men dressed up for a night out. Great Gatsby lives on!
+bixlives BTW I just love what happens 52 seconds into this. You guys are cooking! That clarinet solo gives me chills every time! I love starting my day to your music now. What a difference a day can be when you have music like this to live to.
Here's another version of this song it seems. By the same band The Nighthawks but it seems different than the above. Which one is on the CD? I want the one above the rhythm cooks it so much better.
My Baby" (Boswell Sisters, 1932) Fats Waller - Everybody loves my baby
I personally don't like this season, but the songs are great. I loved the first two with Jimmy, the third was good too, but this one's just not my favorite. However the soundtrack is much better than it used to be.

Holy shit, that clarinet player is amazing

Best version of the song I've ever heard
Agree. sooo amazingly good.
The best version of the song is by the Goofus Five. Find it, listen to it to the end and you'll agree...
Atticus Jazz Just did. And uh... no. It sucked, actually.
Atticus Jazz I really like both versions. Can you name drop some more great bands of the 20s and 30s?
margot you have to record blues like this...love you

Impressive set of pipes

I agree it's a great song and Margot Bingham sings it an abslutely brilliant way.
Absolutely outstanding scene

Beautiful transformation of a classic.

For real im mad they never released that version of the song
Wish I could buy this version of the song.
Pedazo de canción, pedazo de artista y pedazo de serie.
Rest in Peace Michael K Williams aka Chalky White 😭
Am i only one who paused this ep of boardwalk to come and favorite it on youtube?
Am i the only one that wish that HBO would have release that version of the song

bixlives o
I remember this as the season where the music got a billion times better than the last 3
She's bad but not throw your family and life away bad
They really should have let all the musical numbers play out in full on this show, they're all so well done.
What a total babe
Köszi a feltöltést, ment a like és a feliratkozás . :) Nézz szét nálunk is :)
I hope so. This season is just filled with great songs that are not on the Volume 2. Oh well, hopefully in Volume 3 then. ;)
I paused the episode to put this song on youtube :)
I forget which season this is & what CD it is on. Anyone? Thanks!
Here's another version of this song it seems. By the same band The Nighthawks but it seems different than the above. Which one is on the CD? I want the one above the rhythm cooks it so much better.
i cannot find it on the net. In the soundtrack this song is without voice T.T
maybe it'll be available later
If you going to throw away your family for some trim....Daughter Maitland is the one to do it for
No way... specially when you know she's a honeypot
Would it even be possible to hear her without an microphone?
Anyone know where to get the sheet music for this?
lyrics anyone..???
Clarence Williams' Blue Five - Everybody Loves My Baby
"Everybody Loves My Baby" (Boswell Sisters, 1932)
Fats Waller - Everybody loves my baby

Too bad this club doesn’t last long!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I think they're copying the great Connee Boswell.
Well, you're right. I only disagree about van alden: fucking boring
