    He remembers; he cannot handle the emotions that accompany the memories. Great Oscar winning performance by Robert Duvall. This was a a wonderful, simple film, proving you don’t need explosions to make a great movie. Great films require character development, which this movie has in droves.

      Yes! This is great writing and great acting, characters are usually not saying what they feel or are too afraid to confront things, and when it’s done well, it can really reach people to be able to reflect on our own fears/shortcomings. Thanks for your comment, I totally agree that the storytelling in this film has so much nuance and depth that is very rare in today’s films.
