If you buy white and buy different color dyes you can make your own flex seal .
Scott Campbell awesome Idea
it makes me sad that you dont get more views. I love your reviews like i have said before. I appreciate that hard effort it takes to put out these videos. always looking forward to the next one. thanks JD
i used flex seal to get rid of all the leaks in my metal shed. AWSOME PRODUCT
One side of the can - "Non Flammable Non Toxic Non Hazardous" Other side of the can - "CAUTION: COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED" So which one is it Flex Seal?!
Before and after use....
Also, swallowing fast drying liquid rubber might not be so good for the throat and stomach although, it would be hard to accidentally do that
After it dries.
so i think what it means is that it technically isn’t chemically hazardous but having liquid rubber solidifying in your stomach isn’t necessarily safe. as for the flammability contradiction, no fuckin clue
Flammable and harmful when in liquid form... Non flammable, and non toxic when cured. The toxic part is the evaporative solvent.
I had a roof leak used flex seal spray, worked great repair done 5 yrs ago will buy again
Angel A.
I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been out for that long, but yeah that stuff is good for sealing leaks and cracks.
@Angel, I used it on my roof and gutters and did not work at all! Quit lying!
We been using the clear FlexSeal spray for an unfound roof leak also for two years. But we recoat the area every 6 months b\c we don't know if the heat from the sun breaks seal down or not.
@@dianneanderson731 , Spray it on your gutters when you get a leak on your gutters! I GUARANTEE IT WON'T WORK!

When he started mentioning the boat being covered in flex seal I almost died of laughter! 😂😂😂
I accidentally wandered into this but I just gotta say its a great review, thoughtfully done and very well presented!
Great video. I agree completely. I don't know why this stuff gets a bad rap, it's been great for my purposes.
When paint or coat something, and you DON'T want lint from the air to settle on it...take a cardboard box and spray the box with water...then let it sit and drain so no water is dripping from the box...set the box over what you want to dry without lint or fuzz from the floating air....perfect! The water is to keep dust down in the box is all....Boom~!
You should paint it on a pieces of different materials (wood, shingle roof, sheet metal, glass) and expose those pieces to the elements for a year and see what happens after a year of abuse!
It would be great to see how it holds up, but it is specifically designed as a temporary solution to a leak
I have seen all the ads. I never heard the word "temporary"
*_N O W T H A T S A L O T T A D A M A G E_*
This stuff will not last 3 months, Lloyd , roofer 35 years.
Roofers don't want to lose business, not sure I can trust their testimony.
Drill a hole in a wine bottle, Flex Seal the hole, fill it 3/4 of the way with Diet Soda, glue a Mentos to the bottom of a cork. Push the cork back into the bottle. Turn the bottle upside down. See if the cork or the hole blows first.....
David Monroe sweet idea
Okay so I tried this and the bottle nearly fucking exploded but the cork was the first to go
That's the best idea ever

karl28560 You should try that
Just as Flex Seal did with their aerosol product I imagine that they will offer a greater color selection after the product is on the market for a longer period of time. It's to see if it will be a seller
You have a gift for reviewing exactly what we want to see. Well done! I have subscribed. All good wishes for 2018!
This was before Flex Tape (I think). I used Flex Tape to fix the passenger's side rear view mirror on my car. after being in the sun, it lost it's grip and started to move. So basically all it did was leave a sticky mess on the mirror.
You sound like Cleveland Brown
i think he is
WARNING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE LIQUID. I bought a can of the white stuff to use in my basement. There is not indication that it can not be used over old paint. My house is 100 years old, so the paint has been there for generations. I started applying the stuff with a roller. It says you can use a roller. As soon as I started the paint started sticking to the roller and coming off in chunks. I guess they could sell it as a paint remover. Okay, roller bad idea. I then decided to continue with a brush in the hopes I could apply it with out the paint remover aspect. Same thing the extremely old paint that had been there for around a century started sticking to the paint brush and coming off. I decided to try patting the flex on. What else could I do since parts of the wall were already destroyed. Well, it worked, but of course you can paint an entire wall by patting paint on at $35 a can or how ever much the larger size is. I allowed it to dry the amount of time that was mentioned in the can. Obviously, I couldn't leave the wall half peeled. Went to day to paint over. Guess what, yes I was able to paint the patches that were missing paint, but the patches with the stuff absorbs ALL THE PAINT so I am left with a multi color, wall with peeling paint and rubber stuff. Total disaster with zero solutions because they don't bother mention that it only works on a wall that has never been painted. What the heck am I supposed to do? Wallpaper the walls or maybe, just maybe, use spray paint in a basement with limited air flow. Worse investment of my life. I have been painting since I was 8 helping my dad and I am 70, so it's not like I do know what I am doing.
The old paint that is flaking off will have to be totally removed before applying any type of primer/paint. Depending upon how big the wall is you'd be better off using your basic paint/primer versus a more expensive flex seal. If i were you and if you up for it you could use a scraper and scrape off all the old paint and then sand off any remaining flaking paint and then put a couple good coats of paint. Hope that helps.
Enlightened TruthSeeker101 Except the paint was NOT flaking until I applied the Flex, as I mentioned it could be sold as paint remover. I was just trying to apply it because it's a basement wall that is directly next to a water retainment system which stores water under the house. The person who built the house was nothing but a genius. There is a cistern that can be accessed through a small hole in the basement, which I discovered by chance, since it is camouflaged. (Also has secret rooms.) I tried later it in a small area of another wall that was not next to anything outside and the same thing happened. Maybe the paint store where I bought it was not supposed to shake it? I have no explanation.
This might be a stupid question, but can I use flex seal (the spray can) to cover up a medium hole in a glass door?
best flex seal review I've seen sew far
Damn buddy your lucky, I used some flex caulk 2 years ago and I am still extremely happy with the results. That shits right up there with shark bites. Flex products are a blessing to plumbers everywhere
wow you left the hammer outside for a week, what a test! amazing
I enjoyed your demonstration for flexseal. However this product does and absolutely will break down over a period of just a few weeks to a few months depending on the application. It breaks down in direct and indirect sunlight. I have used the white, black and clear, and they all break down over a few months in outdoor conditions.
Thanks. I am considering this to seal a long crack between two halves of a bird bath.
Can this work on metal pipes to keep from rustying.Im thinking on water faucet pipe.
TFS great review. I liked when you said colors please! That was funny. 😂 I'm glad this product worked out and yes the boat coating was gimmicky. 👍💗
You you can use it to pick up stuff off the floor. Coat a roller with it and roll it across a rug to pick up hair and stuff that clogs the vacuum
Really, how well does it adhere to surfaces? You know, how some products like Caulk peel off like if it was a smooth surface, like if it was a casting medium for a mold.
"Made in America" doesn't mean squat if the product doesn't work. I've used the Flex Tape and it was WORTHLESS!! Within a few hours the corners peeled up and the leaks came back.
nice review. You sound like Cleveland
No he sounds like kermit
Panther a hybrid of the two
Can it be used to seal a 75 psi 210° steam pipe?
Noah used a similar product for the ark,,,,,,pine pitch with wood ashes and moss mixed into it!
I just don't know what it is but I like this guy.
Maybe they should make air filters out of that stuff for the home air purifiers. Catches air particals and rises off. Sounds possible!
Awesome, THX! Being as this product hardened when exposed to air. Question: The gallon you used once the lid is cracked and exposed to air how long will the product inside last after resealed? Does the opened and resealed product harden in the can quickly?
Thanks for the honest review. It seems too good to be true. I'm trying to apply the Flex Seal liquid to fix a recurring leaking from the bathroom from the second floor to the first floor. Nothing has worked. I'm trying to seal the exterior sides of the bathtub and base and the toilet base and corners of the bathroom where water could leak. I've tried reapplying grout and then caulking it, but it didn't work. Would Flex Seal liquid work? How long should I wait before applying the second coat?
Glad to have you back Jd
Had a bad vaccum leak on a plastic intake on an automobile throwing engine codes. Bad location. Used the flex seal spray and my headaches were over. I wish they would attach a straw or tubing to the end of the can to pinpoint spray. I know it would have to be made out of material that wouldnt clog but it would make applying spray that much better for hard to spray places
Great stuff! BUT, you cant paint on it. Latex paint will not stick to it. Also has a weird smell so make sure you have good ventilation
Great vid, man!

The original flex seal when it first came out only had black, white, gray, and clear color options too
Excellence in your thorough explanation of the product. OUTSTANDING!!!
Flex Seal Clear = The Holy Grail
Might be a dumb question...
Is it safe to come in contact with food/drinking water once dried?
I wonder can it hold good at high temperatures?
Need a PSI test on the holes in that bottle.
Ok you gave it a 10 out o 10 for the stuff you tested
But if I used it on the bottom of a boat how would it stand up to it getting scraped by the shoreline over repeated time
If you got clear flex seal you can mix in pigments or dyes to get the right color.
The real question is.... How long does it last after it's applied????
I used Flex Seal liquid plus it's tape on a rather large hole on a main drain (cast iron) and it hasn't sprung a leak yet and that was about 2 years ago now. Fingers crossed!!
Replace it and don't have to worry about everyday.
the hammer isn’t going peel off by letting it sit... you’re going to have to use it to see if the rubber stays
Next review: FLEX SEAL TAPE!
Mr. Allmighty Cornholio indeed pollrenef
Slap that shit on with the force of Zeus.
Freakin reviews did one, the comments were disabled for some reason but it worked very well if put on the inside & outside of something flat but not so much on just an outside bucket hole or on pvc pipe for what that's worth. But we had a terrible experience with flex seal on our rv roof, didn't work at all...
VodkaIsJustPotatoJuice I played hard bass
u mean FLEX SHOT SEAL TAPE GLUE LIQUID COLORS
Can l put flex seal on my desk floor instead install new vinyl sheet desk floor , that was vinyl too old and worn out some where ., is it working for whole desk ? Anyone comment about that ? Thanks Hien
the particles on the handle likely settled there DURING the drying process, which should have been done INSIDE not outside, over some plastic or something, not out where dust and other stuff was blowing around.
Just wanted to say you are right. It is a 10 out of 10. I love it.
“Dip your tools in this shit, I don’t know”
Flashing on the roof around my fireplace is letting water in, would this work to fix the leak?
Why use anything else?
I just recently got into smelting lead to make diving weights,is this a suitable product for multiple salt water applications
I used it to seal spider cracks on my boat. This stuff is tough!!!!!!
How long you been working for flex Corp? Others tried this and it failed miserably. The company dupes people with the trickery commercials. These companies need to be held to the standard of what they advertise and show in commercials.
If it snows where you are you should wait for winter and go a coat something in that stuff and leave it bauried in snow all winter and see what happens
You deserve more subs bra!! Keep up the good work
How does everyone else get it to look shiny? When I used it on a piece of a ferret cage I broke, it looked like matte black paint and had a lot of pores.
does not look bone dry at 6:04 . there is a hint of water near the edge.

He may not have let the Flex Seal dry properly or completely between coats. Because the rest of the board seems dry. I'd say it worked.
Used it on my roof to stop some leaks and it worked really well; definetly got my money's worth out of the stuff. Also great review and video man, 10 outta 10
How is your roof holding up after a couple of years
@@CAUTIONmaybeWET even if it was trashed, if it lasted years, didn't it do its job? 😉
You're doing it again.
Dude is awesome. A honest and thorough review is hard to find. You just found yourself another subscriber!
If you do the thing, and you do it right, and you don't fuck it up, it works. It just works.
You are an extremely good reviewer thank you for not wasting my time keep up the good work bro
Nice review, I was a little worried at the start as I seen a link to purchase it in the videos info. Which normally means it's a bias review. But it wasn't!!
Also it's Static Electricity That makes all the dust, dirt, lint and everything else stick to it. Try wiping it with a fabric softener sheet/dryer sheet or spray it with Static Guard spray and see if that helps.
Can you paint over flex seal?
IT'S ME! JOSEFI KRRRAKOWSKI
Great video, thank you. I'm making an outdoor wreath out of cardboard and paper towel rolls. I want to use flex seal to waterproof it and I wanted to know if after it is completely dry if it can be spray painted and if the paint will stay nicely or peel off? I would use a krylon paint I think?
Good review. I would like to say 2 things; 1) you repeat a lot of information as if the viewer didn't hear it the first time. 2) For the handle of your rubber mallet, it can be easily rinsed with water to remove all the "environmental debris" just like those blue "rubber" lint rollars. The best part of the vid is that yeah, I plan to get some flex seal liquid. I already have it in a can. I'm waiting for the weather to clear up so I can fix a leak in my cutters.
This is not testing Flex seal because glue will do the same thing. Test it with psi and it fails unless you put it on really thick about 1 inch and it has to cure for 24 to 48 hours
Excellent comprehensive review. Thank you! :0)
Good review, I enjoy your style
never recommend or even mention gasoline as a cleaning product. Beside the catastrophic results, you have hundreds of thousands of youtube witnesses that can verify you said it was ok as they stand in the emergency room.
So? People use flammable chemicals in their houses every day. You can ignite hairspray and use it as a flamethrower, should you not recommend people use hairspray? The recommended solvent, mineral spirits, is also flammable.
One time i used to clean my hands
Would not recommend it
How hot was it when you left the tool in the sun?
Great video: you helped me. I just bought the smallest size, planning to coat a 2' x 4' sheet of plywood to use as a table top in my wood shop. I need a waterproof surface for my wet sharpening stones and wet grinder. After seeing your review I'm not sure I want to use it: you said particles cling to it, and this makes sense because of how rubbery it is. But in my wood shop there is always dust here and there, even though I clean up at the end of every session. I suspect my Flex Seal table top will be forever pitted with little dust particles that I'll never be able to get out. Can you answer this question for me: once the Flex Seal cures, do you think the particles will come off with a wet sponge, or do they stick around more than that? Thanks again. You have a unique style, but it's clear you've thought carefully about your content. Nice work.
If you went with the clear Flex Seal instead of the black then the little dusty bits wouldn't show up nearly as much as they would against a dark surface :-)
I’d go with polyurethane the surface might be better for your application
My rear differential has pinholes in it and is leaking dif fluid . Do you think i can seal it with this?
I have a pipe that is leaking. I tried to use water resistant tape to stop the leak but it didn’t work. Do you think this will do the job successfully?
Can you use on a shower where stupid installers left a gap between the tile and shower pan where water and mold is accumulating.
How about flex seal underwater with pool tiles?
Yes, it holds up under water very well!
Good review but i would of seen how it held in a pressurized system. I would of got a piece of copper pipe and put a hole in it sealed it up and hooked a compressor up to it and slowly raised the psi till it burst. Standard water lines in a house should hold 35 lbs of pressure.
Put a small hole in a water hose. Seal it. Then turn water on. Will it still hold?
can you use it to fix a Crack in a swimming pool?
i would use flex tape because since this is liquid and your pool contains liquid the flex seal will fill up you pool so use flex tape
Medward21 can u fix your bath. tub carcks wit it ????
probably since it's waterproof so yeah
if it is a hard in ground pool then it should work just let it set for a day or two like paint but make sure you get it in to the crack
Nagy Nageb yes
Hey, it's Cheech doing Flex Seal!
No sticks no stems that you don't need !!!! Flex Seal is, BAD ASS seal.
it not the pipes. its. between the Foundation and the water heater it's leaking around the whole entire water heater at least more when I take a shower then anything
Clear is my favorite color
Greg Errickson where did you get that from bc I say that all the time oof
A solution for lint getting stuck to the rubber, Just pass a lighter close to the lint to burn it off.
I have pinholes in a canoe and thinking of using this, but my main worry is abrasion. If I fill the holes and it gets dragged on ground or bottoms out in shallows will the flex seal hold or not. Have yet to see anything about this.
Chuck Marianik ive got a jon boat I'm about to flex seal. instead of painting the outside I'm painting the inside. if it is as strong as it is advertised to be it should work either way.
I put it on wood. It just peeled off in about 2 months
Was it attic roof wood inside you put it on when it leaked?
mario does reviews. awesome. the outro should be " it's a me mario!".
I wanna see you make a flex seal rubber mallet.
Could this be used for exterior retaining walls that have slight cracked ? Will it stick on the wall and can it be painted after it has cured for 30 days? Thanks and great video!
Hi, does anybody know if this works in high temperature condition like to hold a leak of fluids near my car engine?
If you put anything over a hole in a tank from the inside the pressure alone will keep the patch secure so that test is suspect.
