The ‘Dance Moms’ star also shares her thoughts on Siwa coming out, and if she knew beforehand. I haaaaated my 9th grade biology teacher. We got into it what seemed like everyday. But now I’m 29, out of college, an adult and she and I are very close. I talk to her all the time. She was hard on me because she knew I was smart enough to do better and be better, I just wasn’t putting forth the effort. So Jojo being close to Abby isn’t that surprising. Crazier things have happened. Jojo doesn’t seem like the type that entertains negative energy

Yeah. She had cancer for a few years. She’s now paralyzed. She had spinal cancer and said that the jail wouldn’t allow her treatment or to take her meds so her cancer was caught just in time.

@@sfr2107 well we found out that some of the girls weren’t perfect and their moms weren’t perfect either but Abby was so mean or came off so bad that we just treated everyone else like Angels. If Abby weren’t around some of the good girls would be less traumatized but a lot of the others would look wayyy worse to us.

Exactly - I liked Jojo before she started victim shaming a lot of the cast, like Brooke, Kenzie, and Christi. Jojo can’t speak for other people - it’s fine that she keeps in contact with Abby, that’s up to her, but she shouldn’t be speaking for other people or invalidating their perspective.

I think it's possible that JoJo actually helped Abby to be a bit of a better person. After the shock of prison time & a near-death experience, I think Abby was given a bit of a wake-up call about her life, her behavior, and her priorities. That's not to say she's perfect now, nor has it all together...but, JoJo choosing to acknowledge Abby as part of her life, being as hard-working as an entrepreneur as she is in her kindness to others, can inspire even someone 3 times her senior, as Abby.
I think that if she actually treated the girls with respect they would of actually wanted to stay in touch.
I love that JoJo has been able to stay the age she is in all aspects. She's an amazing young lady. Sending you love Miss Abby. Xxx

I agree. Abby was OBSESSED with that poor child. If she was a man, she would be 100% called out for grooming. She didn’t love Maddie, she groomed her.

The Nia and Chloe part is false. They never tried EVER to go back to Abby. It was the terms they left in, and the Lukisiaks had the ultimate worst. They noticed repeating patterns, which Jojo and Jess could have noticed had they stayed longer. If you notice all the mini moms are fine because they didn’t experience it. It makes total sense that Jojo is the only OG-(as in before the minis) to stick by her side.

I don't feel the least bit bad for abby. She was mocking jojo's success until she realized jojo was the only one left standing. The other moms and girls owe abby NOTHING!!! Honestly, Abby used all of the girls - she never really cared about any of them after Season 2. It’s blatantly obvious that fame got to her head and she used the fact that the moms and children were trapped in a contract to treat them terribly.
The only reason she cared about the Zieglers was because she wanted them to rise her to fame along with them - her real colors showed during the Zieglers’ last season, where she treated Maddie and Mackenzie just as bad as she treated everyone rose because she only liked them for the fame.
And she had NO reason to treat any of the girls the way she did. On the show, she threw some low blows, and even outside of the show, she was blatantly rude and abusive to the girls.
I’m not surprised barely any of them talk to her - Abby brought this upon herself.

She made blatant racist comments outside of the show. She told Nia that she didn’t want “a little Tootie” on the team. How is that supposed to “help” Nia improve?
Although not shown on the show, she told Chloe that she would destroy her and she yelled at Chloe to “get that lazy eye fixed.” Christi posted on social media that the day after Abby shamed Chloe for winning, Chloe cried herself to sleep that night because “her dance teacher hated her.” How is causing your students mental breakdowns going to help them?
She body shamed almost all of her dancers. She mocked Maddie’s teeth and feet and in a recent post, she posted a picture of Maddie dancing as a 5 year old and made fun of her feet. Kalani started crying and Kira started yelling because Abby made a comment about Kalani’s weight and said that “she didn’t look pleasing to look at.” She even made fun of the Candy Apple dancers and made fun of a girl’s ear from the Candy Apples (Chloe’s) and made fun of Ava’s body by calling her a “praying mantis.” How does that help any of them improve?
She would post the weights of her senior class on the board in order to shame them for gaining or losing too much weight. She manipulated Maddie into thinking that nobody loved her. “Nobody’s happy for you, everyone’s jealous of you!” Therefore destroying her friendships and trust in the other girls and isolating her. How is that healthy or beneficial?
She’s even made an or*l s*x joke to a young dancer because of a dance step. There’s literally no way you can defend that.

maybe she would’ve have had more of the cast loyal to her if she didn’t spew out racist things to black dancers(nia, holly, kaya, nicaya,camryn, camille, kamryn, adriana and possibly more). didn’t manipulate kids and give them anxiety or insecurities. abby was so bad offset that when maddie, kenzie, paige, chloe and brooke left they underwent therapy. i don’t feel bad for her at all sorry.

ANOTHER EDIT: Abby didn't care about Jojo until she reached stardom, Jessalyn said in her podcast "Abby did not like us, she wanted us thrown out every episode" and "Abby is Abby whether cameras are rolling or not". But also Jess said after dance moms Abby respects her "more of a person". HMMMMMM??? It couldn't be using them for fame is it?

Jojo was the worse treated? That’s a joke.
It’s downright betrayal for the original girls.
Jojo didn’t even know Abby before AUDC. There was no emotional connection to Abby. So when Abby was rude to her for a couple of years at the ALDC, Jojo didn’t take it to heart as much because they didn’t have much of an emotional connection.
But many of the OGs have been with Abby since they were toddlers. They danced with her, looked up to her, adored her, and considered her to be a motherly figure.
So when this motherly figure of theirs turned around and called them names, body shamed them, made racist comments, set them up to fail, and emotionally manipulated them, not only was it painful because it was abuse, but it was even more painful because it was a stab in the back. It was betrayal.
Jojo was only with Abby for 2 years and then instantly got fame and money. A lot of the other girls got their opportunities DESPITE Abby constantly bringing them down and talking bad about them.
Jojo was nowhere near the worse treated. I’d even go as far as saying that even Maddie was treated worse than Jojo - Abby isolated her and turned her against her friends and groomed her.

Apparently some of the other girls including Nia and Chloe tried to visit Abby in hospital but she refused to see them. This shows that her manipulative ways are still there. The way she screamed at the girls, used her arguments with their moms against the girls, mistreated Chloe and Nia in particular, and the unprofessional behaviour, very disturbing. Add to that, the racism and the other issues, the only positive is that she seems healthy now and Jojo has been the bigger person in all of this. People can say that Abby was or is a nice person but in the dance studio, she certainly wasn’t.
Honestly, I don’t think she’s healthy now. She’s improved, but she still has her manipulative ways. She hasn’t apologized for anything she’s done or said to the dancers she abused and she doesn’t even acknowledge that she did anything wrong.
On top of that, she’s still posting old videos of the girls she abused in order to get money and stay relevant, and she’s posting shady comments about them all over social media. In addition, she literally implied that the other girls were ungrateful for not talking to her, without acknowledging that she played a part in the reason why nobody talks to her from the OGs. She’s still a manipulative narcissist.
I don’t doubt Mia tried to see her but I seriously don’t think Chloe did like she’s so sweet but just knowing what they have said about each other and Christi i don’t think she did but I think his tried to it seems like her
I had a band teacher that was harsh like abby when it came to marching. I loved and hated him at the same time, it was so much pressure and insults. He was only there for 2 years, when he left, I realized all that pressure was because he knew we could do better. When the new band teacher came she was too nice and scared to say anything, causing us to fail. :/ I know the other kids are successful, but they could still keep in contact and appreciate everything she did for them, jojo is the only one that saw that, because she took that experience and made it into something amazing, and is thankful for abby.

I know that abby hasn't been a great person especially for Jojo, so to see that jojo still treats her a good way just makes me realize how good of a person Jojo is, and how she can let the past go, and forgive Abby. ( I am not defending abby she was a horrible person, I am here to talk about JOJO)
Honestly, I don’t really support Jojo for staying with Abby. She is choosing to stay with a literal child abuser who still hasn’t changed her ways.
Abby’s improved, but she still has her manipulative ways. She hasn’t apologized for anything she’s done or said to the dancers she abused and she doesn’t even acknowledge that she did anything wrong.
On top of that, she’s still posting old videos of the girls she abused in order to get money and stay relevant, and she’s posting shady comments about them all over social media. In addition, she literally implied that the other girls were ungrateful for not talking to her, without acknowledging that she played a part in the reason why nobody talks to her from the OGs. She’s still a manipulative narcissist. And by staying alongside Abby and shaming other victims of Abby’s abuse, Jojo’s showing her support for that.
Rather ironic considering she believes in “anti-bullying.”

i was a dancer when i was younger and my mum was a dance teacher who had her own school ,the dance game is vile and cruel and one of the harshest things in the world it all so bitchy but at the end of the day your a team and abby helped them all grow into the dancers and the person theyre now. The question i always ask is why did the mothers keep them in the school if they knew how unhappy and them getting bullied by abby why didnt they pull them out and ik for a fact there hundereds of dance schools that would take those girls and at the end of the day abby did her job as a dance teacher.

She definitely crossed the line with her behaviour multiple times but she wasn’t all bad either. The biggest issue I had was that she made some dancers feel like they were the best whilst she isolated, overly criticised and treated badly other dancers especially if she didn’t get on with their moms. That’s unprofessional. She only really cared about Maddie and her sister, then Kendall.

very weird way of looking at this, they owe everything to her, not her to them, she gave them everything they learned....they do owe her....as for the show, ratings dont come in if its boring....moms fighting and Abby screaming made it interesting, without it it wouldnt have been watched half as much...dont believe everything you see on TV!:-)
