    The last graph is more evidence that Labour didn’t really win the election anywhere near as much as the Conservatives lost it. Considering how unpopular the Conservatives had got a Greater London vote of 43% is actually fairly poor. That said it was easily good enough and now they have the opportunity to deliver.

    • @pipoo1
      @pipoo1 Месяц назад +2

      Same is true of Thatcher in 1983. She was less popular in 1983 than 1979 but increased her majority from 44 to 144 because of the collapse in the Labour vote following the SDP split a couple of years earlier. But a UK election is 650 local elections with a national campaign organised by the party HQs. To that extent vote shares over regional or national areas are irrelevant as all that counts is who won in individual seats.

From what Google says it seems the English speaking world uses a decimal point but most European countries use a comma. 'In American, British, and Canadian English, the decimal separator should be a point, not a comma. The Chicago Manual of Styles says the decimal point is represented by a comma in European countries except Great Britain1. When a period is used as a decimal marker, it’s called a decimal point. When a comma is used as a decimal marker, it’s called a decimal comma. The International System of Units recognises two decimal separators: the point and the comma'
