it's not really the translation tho... i might not be chinese so i don't know how much i can say, but they're still brothers. kaeya was taken in by diluc's dad, they were raised considering each other as and with the relationship of siblings. it's still fucked up cause that's how they see each other. there's no romance whatsoever and no potential for it either.

They aren’t actually brothers 😅 it only says that in the English translation.
In Chinese they call people they are very close friends with brother/sister. The word they use in the Chinese version of the game even uses the other form of brother which means they aren’t really related.
They grew up together as childhood friends so they call each other brother and the English translation took it literally.
A lot of Chinese people get insulted when you tell people not to ship them because it’s incest, because it’s taking their language and using it wrong and would be insulting to people as people fall in love with their “brother/sister” there all the time. It’s basically their word for best friend, NOT sibling.
Kaeya x Diluc is a legitimate non incest ship and it’s literally just us that makes it weird because whoever translated couldn’t use their brain and translated best friend to brother
Well Agree on Most of it but! It really depends on Howe they See each other bc you got one thing wrong. They were not only just friends, but Dilucs dad raised kaeya as well, so they literally grew up as brothers, but still not related by blood,yes. But adoptive brothers... it’s like shipping ace and Lucy from one piece...it’s still somehow weird but (agreeable??) I’m really not here to judge, they could be really cute but they are still adoptive brothers since they’ve been raised by the same dad, aren’t they?
@@hyouart2883 I mean Kaeya was raised by his true father for most of his life, but yes you are right. However in the Chinese and Japanese versions they never refer to each other as true brothers and only as friends.

Then the concept of 'sworn brothers' isn't incest either as in both cases they aren't related or necessarily have a sibling relationship." Not sure how much that explains it but that explanation made sense to me.

Ok, so there's something i want to talk about. A lot of people think that diluc/kaeya is gross ship, because they're blood related. I'm new in this game, but it took me like 5 seconds to google it and find out that they're not actually related. So... Where's the problem? I am genially confused.
Hell, in Attack on Titan situation is very similar: Mikasa was adopted by Eren's family, and she also said multiple times that Eren is a family to her. But it was very clear that she loved him in a romantic way. SPOILERS, but in the final chapter Eren says that he loved Mikasa the same way she loved him. So, why people not hating on them, but hating on diluc and kaeya? It's literally the same situation
