    I will get around to soccer and racing eventually, but each of those genres have 50+ games so it's VERY time consuming to play all of them. Just an FYI

      very cool that you are doing these videos, I enjoy them. I think you could split up the racing games into multiple videos. For example there are around 20 Formula 1 games on the snes that would fit in one video alone.

    i just want to say.. smash tennis/super family tennis is not only one of the best tennis games on SNES, its one of the best sports games period. The environments, the weather??, the controls, the options.. all great! like when you play on the top of the mountain, you can hit an ACE and it will zip off the court and hit the mountain climber and knock him all the way back down to the bottom of the mountain LOL i will never forget the first time i did that. we laughed for days!

    I just wanna give a shout out to my friend Big Gumpy. That's not only his street name, that be his real name. Now me and Gumpy used to play Super Tennis while super high on melted plastic from a previously broken Super Nintendo. On this new Super Nintendo, me and Gumpy would play all the hits. I remember Super Tennis, Super Mario Kart, Super Ghouls and Ghosts - although that one almost resulted in a murder - and many others. Games just aren't what they used to be. Everyone is all Call of Duty and Moog Mar the Cat Goat Goblin.

    Very neat list! Those mode 7 super Famicom games looked neat.
    I spent hours a long time ago playing Jimmy Connors tennis. Personally I thought the controls were great and I didn't use the computer controlled movement. The serve is odd at first but takes a bit of skill to put it where you want just like it should be. I used to play tennis and that game gave me my fix :)

    It's worth mentioning that Ace wo Neare is based on an anime.
    It would later heavily inspire Top wo Nerae Gunbuster.

    • @EngelSpiel
      @EngelSpiel 4 года назад +1

      Didn’t it mostly just inspire the title and the first couple episodes? Same idea with the other bit of inspiration for the title, Top Gun. The homages to both seem to stop after the second episode, as far as I can remember.

    • @RayOfTruth
      @RayOfTruth 4 года назад +1

      @@EngelSpiel the first episode of Aim for the Top! Gunbuster is a pretty clear homage to Aim for the Ace's first episode.
      While it is much less blatant after the first episode, some of the themes and characters in the rest of Gunbuster still feel Aim for the Ace's influence.
      I think Top Gun's influence is mostly with the starting idea of Noriko's relationship with Amano.

    We actually had Super Tennis growing up! My mom was a tennis enthusiast/amateur player, and something of an old school gamer, so we played it a lot together when I was a toddler. We rented Amazing Tennis a couple times too. I'm a bit surprised. When I grew up to become a shoujo manga fan, with the upbringing I had, I never really got into Aim for the Ace (Ace wo Nerae). Played the game once, though. That camera is really super wonky. I'm not prone to motion sickness, but I have no depth perception, so it still throws me off. Gotta say, though, it is a really impressive camera for the SNES.

    If your still not sure, I back up this list with, and yes agreed, No.1 Super Tennis and No.2 Smash Tennis. I don't see any others come close though after that. This comes from a hardened tennis fan and huge snes gamer from back in the day. Super Tennis is the real deal, its tough but good physics and a rewarding tournament mode basically playing all 4 grand slams until your the season champion. This is the real competitive tennis game. Smash Tennis is also on par technically, but more friendly, not as serious and with really colorful environments that was less focused on the win at all costs tournament mode. This felt alittle more polished as it came after ST and later in the snes life. But alot of

Being able to hold the buttons and directions when you have anticipated where the ball is going and have time to prep for your shoot is super satisfying and feels a bit like when you play tennis for real. Also the angles and depth that you find with the ball are well based on your player’s positioning relative to the ball.

      @@karimmore2199 That doesn't surprise me. Smash tennis looks like a slightly inferior version of the Playstation Smash Court Tennis games which I thought were pretty excellent, they had a lot of depth to them.

I really don't see any reason to pick Super Tennis over it.. but I have played 100 times more Jimmy Connors, so maybe I could give Super Tennis another go.

    Something tells me the only reason for the low camera angle in Date Kimiko no Virtual Tennis is because panty shots.

      @Roborav I don't know, Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast is pretty good too.

      @Roborav laggy? What?
      The good things IMO about Jimmy Connors Tennis was the variety of characters, speed of play (especially when you press select), auto serves, spin serves, the rallies, the tournament mode, the number of surfaces the different difficulty against different opponents, the practice mode and the graphics.
      Be honest, how much of it have you played. Of super tennis, I have played for maybe 15 mins but I will play it again this morning.. From memory though it wasn't in the same league.

      @Roborav I played super tennis for a couple of matches last night, I think you and snes drunk have it wrong. Both Jimmy Connors and smash tennis are much better than Super Tennis.. I don't know what you mean by laggy, the Jimmy Connors. Characters zip around the court as does the ball.. Also you can press select as soon as a point ends to start the next one so you get through sets much faster than what you could with Super Tennis. It is all subjective of course but without bias I'd say most people would prefer Jimmy Connors over Super Tennis and by some distance.

      @Roborav Much superior? No long rallies in Jimmy Connors??(Clearly never tried to beat Barnaby or Nilsson from the back of the court) Not as accurate in Jimmy Connors???(This is just wrong, if you play Super tennis and Jiimmy Connors for an hour each you will hit the ball out much more in Super Tennis) Edson on the hardest difficulty level is pretty much as difficult an opponent can be in a tennis game, what on earth are you talking about?
      Also about the animations being copied, I don't agree with that at all, and the stance of your character doing volleys in Super Tennis looks ridiculous, the racket is almost right in front of their body.
      Have your opinion, but it would have been better if it had something to do with reality. It is obvious that you haven't played Jimmy Connors for any proper period of time, so that's where it ends really.

    This is like the fourth or so video I have seen of this guy playing every game in a specific genre....according to him 99.6% of all SNES are garbage and “should be avoided.”

    "Here" is your most overused word. I just wanted to point that out. Once you are conscious of it you can work to fix it.
