@LooseFab Absolutely! It makes me super excited to get up and drive every day even it its just to work. I haven't done any mods (about to do springs and tint) but I see it as the perfect blank canvas car. I'm glad yo hear you're enjoying yours!
Crazy to hear you managed to snag a car for that low, I live in the rust belt area of the US and there's no way I'd be able to find a manual three valve in decent condition for less than $12k USD here. Everyone else is always coyote this, coyote that, and forget that the three valve is a solid basis to work from as long as your end goal isn't a dyno number and you can find one for a decent price.
Definitely got lucky dodging the rust up here in Canada as well! Not easy to do but I guess you get that better than anyone lol! Just gotta keep your eyes peeled and hop on a good deal when it comes up! Good luck with the search!
@@LooseFab I'm afraid I already used up all my luck lol. My current car is a 1999 V6 I'm using to learn manual before I step up to a more powerful 3 valve later on. It had 50k miles and absolutely no rust, for $5k usd. May not have very much in terms of power but at least I have no worries when it comes to corrosion till I can find an equally clean three valve.
Also a cool thing is that the Fox body all the way through to the New Edge are all pretty much the same chassis, the s197 was a complete redesign from the ground up, not just a new body
It's crazy that one platform lasted that long! I asked around on some Ford groups and learned that, and the redesign was actually a big deciding factor for me to go with the S197!
06 3V owner here. Only thing you need to worry about is changing your oil every 3,000 miles. This first generation of cam phasers are ok but need to be continuously bathed in fresh oil or they will get clogged and may become damaged. I hope you continue to enjoy the car :)
That's awesome to know, thanks for the advice! This car is getting some hard miles on it so I'll have to make sure to stay on top of those oil changes! Thanks for watching!
@@danearias8325 I'm willing to bet it was in nicer shape than this one! This one's got lots of stone chips and the like. Comparison is the thief of joy, just because this one was cheaper doesn't mean yours wasn't still a smoking deal!
I own a v6 07’ , its not fast at all but it feels super fun . Also its been so reliable, even on long road trips its been great . Your build is sick man , love seeing this generation getting love . 🫡
heck yeah dude thanks for the kind words! Those v6s actually make some pretty good power, i bet that thing is still a hoot! keeping it all stock for now or are you planning to do any mods to it?
Super cool to see someone praise the 3 valve so much. I've had mine for a year now. Loving this build series!
Thanks dude! You still loving yours? I had no idea that I'd be such a big fan of the 3v but now that I own one, I am definitely a big fan!

I've never heard anyone call regular cars "just traffic" but I'm definitely adopting it

Gosh Frick I love mustangs mom
Im just considring getting one, local delarship near me have one covered full of dust, maybe i could get good deal for it
That's a great idea!! You should go in and at least ask, might be a cool story! Let me know how it goes!
That’s what mustangs are know for. Affordable muscle cars
What engine oil brand do you use mate?
I usually use pennzoil, but I don't have a lot of brand loyalty when it comes to fluids!
Facebook marketplace time lol
Best purchase I've ever made on there for sure!! Except maybe when I bought a whole bunch of barn find rx7s🤣
How many miles does your Mustang have🤔
It's got about 65k miles!
@@LooseFabI payed 5800 for a 08 with 109k miles about three months ago🥲

Damn I paid 8 for mine with 63k. I guess it depends on what area you live in. Even if it wasn't the best deal, I'd do it again, I love that car
I had the same feeling of being born in the wrong generation lol. Being born in 99 makes me feel like I missed out on the prime days of fox and sn95.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! The upside is we get to see some of thr wild new stangs they're coming out with, even if I can't afford them lol!
