    Thank you!! I had my 10/22 air rifle less than a day before it jammed. Umarex was useless. As soon as I took the barrel off I was able to clear the jam.

    wow , i already have a couple newer versions of the crosman 1077 . i have had a couple older ones in the past also . i have one modded and one stock for fun now . my modded one gets about 25 to 28 shots and the stock one about 60 per 12 gram co2 ! . i been thinking on this a while , could have gotten one half off a year or two , i like it and see where i could def mod it . the hammer could be made stronger to hit harder , a lighter valve spring , take restrictor out and drill those 3 holes .

    Mine has a slow leak . Shoots fine, but it's completely empty if i leave it sitting overnight. Any tips on where it could be leaking? Would it be a good idea to tear it down to a certain point, and then spray it with soapy water to see if bubbles show up where it might be leaking? Great video detailing how to disassemble. Never thought about trying to increase power. Trying to figure out how to fix the leak is what brought me here. I got it to shoot at varmints that keep killing my chickens at night. I didn't want a real gun. Thoughts?

    You have to make sure you look at the pins when you take them out, they can be any way round. Just tap out far enough to see which end is which, you need to see a knurled bit on the end, if it is, tap out from the other, plain, end.

      Thank you for the comment. I'm not sure why for some people it leaks but if you watch my other video you can see me do the mod again and show that it doesn't leak. I think the problem might be the small o ring that goes on the tube you have to make sure to put it on correctly.

    Papi781 - thank you for video. The tube / chamber on my gun that holds the air cartridges is a little loose. It moves a bit when you put a small amount of pressure on it such as when tightening up the new cartridges. That results in the compressed air venting into the mechanism and all air is lost. Your video shows a small O ring sealing the mechanism end of the brass tube. Is there a similar O ring on the tube / chamber end of the brass tube ? could that O ring be the problem do you think ?
    Cheers from New Zealand and well done on the video

    • @timr617
      @timr617  2 года назад +1

      That's a good question. I don't remember if there was a small o ring on that end of the tube but that could very well be a possibilty. I don't think I tinkered with that end of the brass tube so that's probably why I don't remember but I would definitely go in there and check it out. It's fairly easy to disassemble the 10/20 I hope you figure out your problem. Good luck!

      @@valdivia1234567 Hi Craig, I took rifle back to retailer who returned it to New Zealand import agent. They replaced the rifle with a new one - I did not hear anything from them re the problem, whether it could be fixed or otherwise. I think the repair by a gunsmith would be likely to cost the agent more than simply replacing faulty rifle with the new one.

    removal of the "restrictor" resulted in a loss of seal in the valve... causing a massive leak every time the gun was fired, barely able to spit the pellets out of the gun... I did however come up with a simple way to increase the hammer spring pressure, resulting in more power ( along with a super stiff first stage of the trigger) .You can also dig out the rubber pad that is embedded in the hammer, and replace it with a steel pin, preferably one that sits a mm or two proud of the hammer surface...

  • @gyrotech777

    I doubt you got any measurable improvement pulling that brass piece. The limiting factor here is the lower pressure of CO2vs charged air.

    • @timr617
      @timr617  Год назад +3

      Removing the little brass restrictor allows more CO2 to continually dump into the valve at the moment the hammer hits the valve and the gas is released into the chamber. The little brass restrictor is there to prevent CO2 to keep dumping into the valve so that it doesn't waste too fast. Yes this will give your shots more power but the downside is that you will get way less shots per CO2 cartridge. Why don't you try it and you'll see the difference. You will hear how much louder the gun sounds when you shoot it. You can always just reinstall the little restrictor if you don't like it afterwards.

  • @cookiedoegamer4489
    @cookiedoegamer4489 Год назад +6

    Do not do this!!! Companies like Umarex spend loads of time and money designing and engering quality products like this. I tried this mod removing the small meetering valve, and what a waste if time. The gun fired about 4 weak shots (very loudly) and then ran out of air on the fifth only pushing out the pellet enough to get stuck not allowing the mag to release. Had to dissamble, reinstall valve and all is back to normal, if you need a stronger gun buy a stronger gun!!!
