  • Arrival in Costa Rica and Exploring towns of Quepos and Manual Antonio
We traveled to Costa Rica for our 15 year anniversary just one week before the world drastically changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in early March 2020. Before things got crazy we enjoyed our trip exploring the Pacific coast around the towns of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We explored the tide pools at Playa Espadilla and explored the streets, shops, and restaurants of Quepos.

That's an interesting looking sand creature. I've never seen anything like that before.
    Happy anniversary!

Visited Quepos in 1981 very hot , dusty and small with very friendly natives . Paid $1 a day for a room with shared bathroom.

Just a tip. Next time get yourself $50-$100 at the airport exchange first. Next you need to download the WAZE app. Download your route before you leave wifi and it will still work with gps offline! And that wasnt a Forrest fire. Its how they clear land

You can pay in dollars almost everywhere. Just make sure about the change so they don't get rip off. If they do you can go to the police station and the store have to give you the exact change and the store get a fine. Customer Service Law.

Where do you recommend I exchange my money when I get to San Jose ? I was told not to do it at the airport cause they end up ripping us off . Also as two single guys going what’s the best cities for us to stay at that have a lot of women ?

We found it was easiest just to get cash back at grocery stores or you can also pay in US dollars at places and they give you change back in Colones.
