    Lyrics:
    Oh, what a night
    Late December, back in '63
What a very special time for me
As I remember, what a night
    Oh, what a night
You know, I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night
    Oh, I, I got a funny feeling
When she walked in the room
    And my, as I recall
    It ended much too soon
    (Oh, what a night)
    Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me
She was everything I dreamed she'd be
    Sweet surrender, what a night
    And I felt a rush
Like a rolling bolt of thunder
    Spinning my head around
    And takin' my body under
    (Oh, what a night)
Oh, I got a funny feeling
When she walked in the room
    And my, as I recall
    It ended much too soon
    (Oh, what a night)
Why'd it take so long to see the light?
Seemed so wrong, but now it seems so right
What a lady, what a night
    Oh, I felt a rush
Like a rolling bolt of thunder
    Spinning my head around
    And takin' my body under
    (Oh, what a night)
Do do do, do do, do do do do
    (Oh, what a night)
Do do do, do do, do do do do
    (Oh, what a night)
Do do do, do do, do do do do
    (Oh, what a night)
Do do do, do do, do do do do...

After his gig with the Four Seasons ended, he needed work so he got hired on at a high school somewhere on the east coast and never brought it up to his students.
The girl saw him a few years ago and she asked if that was him. Apparently, it took him by surprise and he kind of blew it off at first until she pressed him about it and he finally came clean before telling her “Alright… now, beat it kid!”😁

MJ, Axel Rose, Freddie Mercury, Marvin Gaye, Brenton Woods, James Brown, David Ruffin. Gerry Polci was (and is) a real asset to this group, with his clear, expressive voice and his masterful work with the drums. He should have become more well-known but I think his reward was to make good music with his friends. He later had a full career as a high-school music teacher and also kept performing, right up to the present, at age 69. You can find videos of him playing solos with very prestigious groups. I'm sure he's well-known and regarded by all professionals in music. This song and his rendition of it is one of my personal favorites. I feel a tug at my heart, whenever I hear it. And by the way, Gerry Polci married Frankie Valli's daughter.

He always said that any song that charts on top they knew it was a hit before they put their coats on. My dad and other people would get asked by producers if it sounded alright because most of the guys were professional musicians in the booth. He had to go to the lobby of the studio and get one of the gofers to cover a guitar, or sometimes play a song through for the bands drummer.

Joe long did an interview shortly before his death and said this was when Frankie was going deaf in both ears. He thought it was the end of his career The struggle was real, I have the same condition, I know what it's like. After 3 operations, two unsuccessful, his hearing was restored to almost normal. Joe Long said in spite of his condition, he was still able to hit the notes. That's talent.

Funny thing is Bass player was 2nd lead vocals normally in the group being a Falsetto, Geri Polci had an Amazing voice and definitely should have been showcased more but Frankie Valli's voice is what brought character to the group and was hands down the best voice.

Gerry Polci did such a great job on the lead vocals for this song and Don Ciccone coming in on the falsetto equally as talented. This was the last Number One hit for The Four Seasons.
