    Jason, I'm sorry to ask a personal question. You method several times that you carry your son ashes with you in the quiver. I want to do something similar. Can you explain the container setup you are using? It look like a flat pouch. what material and care do you do with it? Have you change anything since moving to a warmer climate?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 месяца назад +2

      I put some of his ashes on a small piece of seran wrap. Then fold and wrap it up. Then I duct tape around that to keep it water proof and protected. They put it in the head of my quiver. They do sell small vials and small jewelry pieces that could also be used.

    One question I have on Archery is what made you switch from Compound to modern laminate traditional in 1990's around 1994--1995 and not go leverbow or buying up older bows people sold in newspapers/cheap finger release was an option on and switching from old compounds to Genessis Pro/Gen-X model in 2000's?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  3 месяца назад +1

      I bought my first compound in 93. killed my first deer with it 2 weeks later. then thought I needed a better faster bow. Bought a browning ballistic mirage compound. limbs cracked 2 times on it in 3 weeks. said enough with all this compound crap and ordered a martin mamba recurve as it was simple, no over draw, no release, no cams, no sights, no problems. Never looked back!! took me 3 years to kill my first traditional deer.

    I couldn't imagine hunting hogs in the swap during the summer, it doesn't even sound fun but aren't the hogs full of insects and worms now?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  3 месяца назад +1

      It's tough walking 10 miles a day is the 95 degree swamps this time of year. It would feel like jogging on a treadmill in a sauna in a sweet suit😂. But hogs tast just as good in the summer as they do in the winter.

    I do similar buying a much cheaper Chinese clone of a Neet Cordovan overly model glove, Neet Elk glive, or 3 Rivers Cheaper model/$5 more expensive Byan Furgison mod minus compass Cheaper model of same glove. Reason I buy what I do is fake suede leather breaks in quicker breaking in sometimes is already broken in, is more sweat resistant in South Dakota's very hot summers in July--August sometimes early Sept and still uses a ground leather and pressed leather for overlay I use as exrea rotection/finger placement while not being so bulky how some of Neet overly gloves can be including Elk version. Apparently slightly cheaper models from Top Archery of same glove without the overlays suck and die in less then 500 shots including a slightly different model made for Top Archery using elastic in glove. I also like how mine uses Neet more open designs where nearly fake leather laces are holding l finger stalls so I can slip off fingers for work keeping metal buckle strap on wrist. Goves I use are hard to find besides on AliExpress as a just glove no vented arm guard. Avoid a black model similar looking glove as uses vinyl for glove where some come in crease bent or ripped open on vinyl as seen in pictures Really avoid some really cheap fake suede versions with black fake suede overlay as I have used one before in 2000s I bought when a place was going guns and fishing only, glove sucked falling apart on seams before I really used glove beuse looked like was made by a very cheap robotic mass produced factory in China having no quality control ever just being made close enough in beyond ultra super quick looks to a Neet Cordovan with overlays. One I use is made of a lower end material but mid level in construction clone. People do recommend in stitching construction using a lighter for melting fray ends as some people have had gloves come undone in stitching early.
    I am remembering in 2000's when I first found out I was left eye dominate in 2001 or 2002 how hard it was in finding a tab made for a left hand archer as a smaller 13 year old kid where tab was not a unisex split finger made of gross duel smooth side vinyl for kids and older kids and how gloves were universal right left. 3 under/over tabs I could cut and make a split in a kids size was not a thing except for in open division Recurve/longbow ILF/flat limb target bow metal tabs. So, I used a glove in adults smallest sizes/models where fingers were a small W where the elastic wore out quickly. Gloves are often

      Yep 2 schools of thought. some buy real good quality tabs like omnivore and take car of them. others buy cheap stuff and let it be disposable. right now I do the disposable route. but when the tabs I shoot are no longer available I will go with omnivore.

      @@SamkoTradBow Yep I agree 100%, I would have to skip 2 Neet as models changed with less adjustability and use so in 2024 for around $20 3 Rivers model where S, M, L, XL are a choice or use Same model only Bryan Furgison model in 2024 for around $30 and remove compass.
