  • In the mid-twentieth century, one of the biggest secrets
hidden by the Peruvian jungle, was the location of the last capital of the Incas,
Great Vilcabamba. In 1976, Polish journalists Tony Halik and Elżbieta Dzikowska
together with Professor Edmundo Guillén, reached its ruins.
On the 40th anniversary of this event, I followed in their footsteps.

The Spanish did not conquer the Inca all by themselves. They had help from other natives who were happy to overthrow their Inca overlords. Plus, we now know that the Amazon basin cultures, far from being savage, were quite advanced in their own right.

Been there done it. It's really is amazing. Great documentary but I'd suggest working on the correct pronunciation of many of the names: Choquequirao, Sacsayhuaman, Tawantinsuyu are all mispronounced.

Don’t be a revisionist historian. Their society was a train wreck with constant civil wars by the time the Spanish arrived. That’s why the Spanish vanquished them so easily with so few men.
