Your list was refreshing in that it had films most reviewers ignored. Your presentation is also refreshing--excellent pacing & timing (relatively brief--not drawn out needlessly) while still including video clips. Also refreshing, your commentary, yes, relative to the films but also additional opinions and insights. Brilliant. I appreciate your upbeat style. P.S. I almost never comment. Had to this time. Also. I almost never subscribe. Just did so. Keep it up. You deserve 6,000, heck 60,000, subscribers.
I truly appreciate the thoughtful and generous words good sir. You have absolutely no idea how much this made my day❤️ thank you for tuning in! More to come in 2025😀
First off, late AF, second off, blessed to have our paths cross bro. You are in the right spot, you are a tremendous human being who brings SO much to this space. Greatness is not just bound but it is IMMEDIATE on so many levels. I agree with the dune take! we arent fans so it caught us off guard more often than not, but I will be tailing a lot of your movies this year because CLEARLY I missed out on a handful. Stay blessed brotha. Enjoyed your list!
Mr. Mod, you have been such an amazing, compassionate and supportive human being. Thank you for your consistency and the energy you put into your videos! I too am glad we crossed paths. Can’t wait to see more from you this year!!
Great vid. Loved the movies on your list I've never heard of like The Hip hop story. The Substance is a super W. This year has been a great cause to many people The list has been so different
10:05 Mine is also _The Substance_ - although I'm honestly torn between it and _Anora._ 😀 My top ten are: 1) _The Substance_ 2) _Anora_ 3) _The Wild Robot_ 4) _Inside Out 2_ 5) _Strange Darling_ 6) _Speak No Evil_ 7) _Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl_ 8) _Kill_ 9) _Deadpool & Wolverine_ 10) _Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga_
Enjoyed your breakdown and thoughtful commentary. I laughed harder in Anora (esp the home invasion scene) than anything else I've seen this year. Also appreciate you shedding light on movies that might otherwise get overlooked. Was fortunate to end the year on seeing The Fire Within and The Order... both outstanding.
What a wonderful list! Never heard of A Hip Hop Story, so I'll definitely check it out sometime. I saw about 80 releases last year, so I can't say I saw everything but I certainly wasn't slacking! Here's mine: 1. Dune Part Two 2. Monkey Man 3. Queer 4. Civil War 5. Longlegs 6. Gladiator II 7. I Saw The TV Glow 8. Snack Shack 9. Trap 10. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Love live da movies, etc etc.
Great list, Sing Sing is my #1 of the year. Although, living in a city that's not NY/LA, i still have to wait until mid-January to see a few (The Brutalist & Nickel Boys). I haven't seen Anora, The Substance, or A Hip Hop Story, but your enthusiasm sold me. Also, can i recommend Last Stop in Yuma County? An indie that came out last spring/summer that fell through the cracks. It's like an old Twilight Zone episode crossed with a lesser-tier Quentin Tarantino flick.
The following I liked but, didn’t make my top 20:late night for the devil, Thelma I am so thrilled you liked Ghostlight. Thank you for the shout sir. Unfortunately, there is still no physical release for it. I really hope it gets something at some point. I never saw The Book of Clarence, A Hip Hop Story, Sing Sing(never came to my theater and still not on vod) Dune 2/Anora /The Substance were very good The only one I wasn’t high on was The Wild Robot.
I don't have a top10 but I have a top5, The First Omen, The Substance, Kneecap, The Wild Robot and Deadpool vs Wolverine. You mention 3 of these in your list and 1 in your extras so I thought I drop a line. Also you earned a sub. If I had a top10, Late Night with the Devil and Ghostlight would be there. Dune 2 is more of top20 material for me. I enjoyed it but I am more on the Asimov side when it comes to sci-fi. I get it though why you love it. Anora is where we differ though, I find it way too over-valued. It seems the director wants to say something about the fake relationships built on money but it comes across as if the film almost glorifies said relationships, or the director likes that sort of thing actually in secret or partly or something. The message of the final scene did not need the rest of the film to be sent. A short film would suffice. And no sorry, the comedy part didn't work for me. Having said all that I didn't hate the film, I just would not include it in my top anything list. The rest I did not watch but I'll definitely try. All the best, cheers!
- Anora - The Substance - Wicked - The Wild Robot - Hundreds of Beavers - Dune Part 2 - Furiosa - The Brutalist - Nosferatu - Conclave - Challengers - My Old Ass - A Real Pain
TOP 10 BEST MOVIES OF 2024: 1. Dune: Part 2 2. Deadpool & Wolverine 3. Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story 4. Nosferatu 5. The Wild Robot 6. Inside Out 2 7. Anora 8. Hit Man 9. Society Of The Snow & Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 10. Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes
@@nimbat997 ah. I mean it won’t be for everyone. I just think it stood out more than average horror films. You have the right to feel how you feel about it🙂
@TJBillups I am not in disagreement with you, brother. My assertion should be taken as a general comment - directed to anyone who interacts with the comment section. ❤️🕊

Excellent list my man. Wish I could see Sing Sing but A24 hates sharing movies smh
That they do haha. I hope it comes to VOD soon!
Sing Sing will have a 2nd run in theaters on January 17th. Be sure to check it out.
Late night with the devil was a surprising delight!
Facts!

The only one I wasn’t high on was The Wild Robot.
Ghostlight deserves a physical release 😤
Also The Book of Clarence is on Netflix and A Hip Hop Story is available to rent on the ahiphopstory website
Ending the year with a banger Thomas I hope more success in 2025!
Thank you Ryan!! Likewise to you❤️
Always nice to see obscure movies not on anyone else’s list. No argument from me about your #1.

I got kinds of kindness in my top ten for sure, also haven’t heard of sing sing I gotta check it out
I liked Kinds of Kindness, but idk how often I would go back and watch it ya know.
Love the Thelma shout out!

Sing Sing is one I am be trying to get my mental self right and to sit down and watch.
Yeahhhh that’s a film you gotta lock in for😅
You should drop a top ten favorite directors video
It would take me eternity to come up with a top 10 list for that hahaha
I miss Leto /Oscar Isaac too much to put Dune 2 over 1, but it was amazing!
Fair. Dune 2 was definitely a banger
Same here. While Dune 2 is visually stunning, I still favor Dune 1.
Also Dune WAS the only film that came out this year. Top 1 of 1
😂😂fair enough
- Anora
- The Substance
- Wicked
- The Wild Robot
- Hundreds of Beavers
- Dune Part 2
- Furiosa
- The Brutalist
- Nosferatu
- Conclave
- Challengers
- My Old Ass
- A Real Pain
Solid list❤️
SING SING!!!!! Yess!!!!!!!

Am I the only one who is unimpressed with this movie?❤
Which one? The Substance?
@@TJBillups No - Late Night with the Devil.❤️

I felt The Substance was for teenagers. Didn’t like the obnoxious directing. 🤷
I don’t think I’d recommend teenagers seeing it😂
