I’m sure that was Jerry’s doing because I can’t see Doyle wanting to do throwbacks to that period. I’ve seen some interviews with Jerry and he’s a nice guy and as someone who’s never met him he seems like he knows the fans are the key to their continued success and wants to do right by them.
Saw them twice each with Graves and Jerry singing. Jerry's not a great singer, but it was still mad fun. You know like ALL their stuff has crowd parts and the crowd knew them at all four shows. So you can barely even hear the band. Not like you need to :) I agree on Doyle. I always say "When you can't decide if you want to dance or smash things? Doyle wulfgang von frankenstein. Accept no substitutes"
Another attention seeking " underrated" comment, how is he underrated? He sings punk/Goth rock songs, do you expect him to be as popular as Celine Dion?
THANK U I WAS LOOKING FOR WHAT TO CALL IT🤟🏻you’re sooo right famous monsters is my favorite album by them because graves just gave it that like slightly operatic feel almost like the joker was singing it😂😂idk how to describe it but horror punk is definitely his specialty!
@Snap your fingers snap your neck Great screen name love that track! And the words you're maybe looking for to the commenter above is 50's style crooner, I think 🤔
I remember this performance well because it aired the night before (had my mom tape it for me on VHS) my first ever concert, Misfits at Crest Theater in Sacramento. Was awesome, and I bought my "Misfits 2000" t shirt that I still own today, 23 years later, and its still in great shape after wearing and washes.
I mean yeah Graves was dope and Misfits got a lot more media attention when he was the frontman but Danzig is and always will be the frontman. The line up was the best it ever was when he was there.
uncle ruckus The kit sounds very flat, not as in pitch but as in dynamics. It’s very monotonous, but that’s what they tuned it for probably. Same with the guitars, dropped C maybe, I don’t think it’s D. I’m not a musician, just appreciate the sounds.
I'm dont think I'm only one but this Is my favorite era of the misfits, famous monsters and American psycho are my favorite albums. I still really love goth Elvis too haha
His voice has a 50s doo-wop with that metal sound and why I feel he works great for Misfits. Danzig is classic of course but it’s stupid the childish behavior cancels themselves from being able to have tours with Graves and Danzig singing their own music. Also Danzig ego is to massive, Graves better singer for sure.
Danzing es un buen compositor pero hay que reconocer que Graves es mucho mejor cantando Danzing en los discos suena bien pero en concierto suena como el orto a diferencia de Graves 🤘
Wouldn’t it be so annoying if you tried to play a song and you had like 50 dudes just being idiots on stage with you, like dude we’ve been around for over 40 years just give us our space LOL
What the fuck is wrong with this? They were trying to play a song and the audience made the stage cramped, they played credits and shit, got horrible camera angles, and didn’t even get halfway through the song without playing the song.
As a massive Misfits fan and a musician of 30 years, I must point out that Michael Graves ruined the *vocals for trying to sing in different scales and octaves. He should've stuck to the original that he mastered. Just my experience speaking rather than an opinion.
Nobody cares what your opinion is. Next time you feel the need to make a needless comment criticizing a video from 17-years ago, just do us all a favor and don’t
Lmfao! Looks like the Misfits...but, sounds like Green Day doing a Ronettes cover! Fuck SNL....someone should be pulled the plug on this shit show. Probably their worst mistake was accepting the invitation to perform this gobblygook on SNL, in the first place! Not a very conducive environment for a proper Misfits horror show, in my opinion.
Back track or band playing? Im not catching feelings either way, but if its real, They sound PERFECT. Wildly well captured if so. I only say backtrack because television
Satuday Night Live?? Oh, Saturday Night being played live.
Yes
Yes man
No shit, I was trying to figure out when SNL had Misfits on there!
Looks like both lol
was this a mad tv performance?
I love how the captured that old 50s do-wop sort of sound.

I do like Earth AD, but not nearly as much as I like Doo Wop Misfits: Walk Among Us, Static Age and Famous Monsters
Graves face paint during this era was fucking AWESOME!!!! 💀
Yes dude it’s so fuckin cool
You can hardly see his face
Worked super well with his hairstyle
One does NOT go unpunished from ending a show mid-"Saturday Night".
It actually hurt when it happened
Hey a timeless performance that can be enjoyed for years to come...roll credits bob
Graves is a highly underrated artist and Jerry and Doyle true heroes of modern punk rock

No
I'll always prefer Danzig- but man, you gotta appreciate his voice, so haunting.
Doyle ages in reverse

I don’t even remember how many times I’ve watched this it’s so good
Michael Graves is such a great singer.
Maybe on the album but he sounds like Absolute trash live

My favorite Misfits line up
...what?
I mean yeah Graves was dope and Misfits got a lot more media attention when he was the frontman but Danzig is and always will be the frontman. The line up was the best it ever was when he was there.
The Graves-era Misfits are a different animal. There's more musicianship, its more metal. I'm a huge fan of both lineups.
deff debatable.... Graves is a better singer but Danzig had that "sucks but made it work" punk dynamic to his vocals...
Mine too
For those who are wondering this show is called ‘The X Show’. The song being performed is called Saturday Night, the show isn’t SNL.
This is sooo early 2000s I love it wish there was a HD rip of this
And a fucking long version
I wish they had more albums with graves
Michael graves jugava con la voz de una manera espectacular, cantantes mucho mas famosos no tienen esta voz
Vastly superior live. Wish it was longer.
I fucking need to find the full version of this masterpiece!
Misfits - Saturday night

What a great year. Society needs to learn to be cool again.
No.1 in the world. for me someday.
That crowd has to have some actors in it
This was on The X Show on FX, Bert kreischer was a host on it later on.
I like imagine that this were performed while i was borning (yes, in 2000)
Two things that used to be awesome.
what two things
Sorry boi but the Misfits still rock
Never gets old 💀💀
Dr chud had a nice tempo , amazing live for a punk band
É triste vc tentar e não conseguir achar quase nada de Misfits ao vivo. O que também os torna uma “lenda” 💀👻
Vdd 😭
Assim que é melhor.
Graves never seems to be able to sing the songs the same...
Burgundy Black he tends to sing the rhythm of the songs differently live
He tends to sing.
Love this song
Is it me or did Graves sing this in a deeper octave than usual?
Yeah he definitely did
Do you have the whole video? Is this the song they only played on this show ?
Calejandre138 .... if you haven't found the video since you asked, there is a video for Helena from this program.
The show ends there, unfortunately there is no full version
I wish i could be there :'(

Such a weird crowd, lol. This reminds me of a video of Green Day playing Brain Stew/Jaded from 96 that had a very similar crowd.
