Long time no see! It's been about 3 months since I got my first tattoo (a beautiful floral shoulder piece designed by @jo._.tattoos) and I wanted to document it for my own memories to look back on.
The whole process (from booking to sitting down in the studio) took a couple of months due to COVID lockdowns which kept on pushing my appointment. To be honest, I didn't mind because that meant that I got time to mentally process that I was about to make a very permanent decision. As a very indecisive person, I am relieved that I had waited.
My shoulder piece consists of peonies (my favourite flowers), daisies (hey, that's me!) and irises (to represent my mom). I would rate the pain about a 4/10 but I'd also say my pain tolerance is high. The collar bone area definitely felt a lot more uncomfortable but similar to a cat scratching and digging its nails into your skin. The whole process took about 5 hours and my adrenaline was definitely kickin'. Joanna was amazing to work with! From start to finish, she made me feel comfortable in the chair and she was extremely gentle. She executed my vision perfectly & I could not be happier.

Would I do it again? Would I get another?
Yes, definitely... but I will refrain for now. I can see why people get so addicted to tattoos. It is a beautiful form of self-expression and I see tattoos as permanent accessories. Once you know how your body reacts to the pain or discomfort, it's really hard to resist getting more!

Just came across this video, I’m getting a tattoo same spot, it’s slightly larger and it will be my first 😩 I was kinda nervous about pain but this video really helped with any worry or anxiety I had. Thank you and it’s gorgeous by the way 😍 in love with it

I have a floral piece on my shoulder too and how much does the collar bone area kill! That was beyond painful 😅 looks beautiful 💕✨

How did you know if colour is for you? What you think about UV ink to add it so it will glow under black light?

thank you so much! ☺️ it was absolutely worth the pain! i was actually anticipating this tattoo appointment for months! i feel like the same person but truthfully, i catch myself wearing more tanktops now so i can see the tattoo more 😂 UV ink sounds cool! would definitely want to get a piece in the future with a pop of colour and/or UV ink. as for getting the tattoo with no ink…. hmmm nah I rather not sit through the pain with no reward 😅 thanks for you comment! 🥰
