Another very useful video, from you Avinash, this is lot of information that you have simplified and effectively presented to the retunees. I really appreciate your efforts, keep up the great work. Would love to catch up when you plan next meet up:)! Returning from Canada next week. Your videos are very helpful.
Good one Avi. I know you selected the boards that are mostly being asked and ICSE is another one that is most looked for as well. If there is a chance, do see if you can update this with ICSE as well. Separately there is also the option of schools which go with mixed approach from all curriculum.. like the Birla Open Minds International Schools.. they print their own books and follow a curriculum that’s a mix of CBSE, ICSE, IB & IGCSE
Thanks Naveen. Based on the conversations, I felt ICSE is least opted among all the boards and I want to keep it brief. We will do an updated video later with ICSE and also other inputs as you suggested.
A key question that arises for NRIs as we evaluate different curricula is - are there even good college options for kids going through IB/IGCSE? If yes, what are they? What courses? Or, do all IB/IGCSE kids end up going abroad for college? I know of families which are staying back abroad for this reason. They do not want another generation to have to live away from parents due to 'compulsions' like kids' education and career in general.
Not all IB/IGCSE kids go abroad for college. But majority goes. Some colleges in India like BITS accept SAT score for admissions. There are options in India too and who what can change in 10 years.
How to know if school’a infrastructure is fully equipped for IG/IB..as we know CBSE and ICSE are here since a long time and we know about them. And also if kids want to give entrance exams in India after 12th, does IG/IB helps or hinders? Any experiences on these would be great ..
@@Arcotsowmya IGCSE/IB students are not trained to be competitive in the JEE (Indian competitive) examinations. I heard some people take tuitions to be prepared for it. I personally think if the goal is to be ready for Idian competitive examinations, CBSE or ICSE would be better choice. Interms of school IB/IGCSE infrastructure, talk to schools, understand teachers experience/training, talk to other parents who are sending their kids, alumni students etc,.
To join what’s app community I have submitted the form long back, did not get any reply. If you guys are still working on completely fine, if you see any problems let me know, I will correct it. Thanks for all your information.
