I have been a fan of SNK since the Ikari Warriors came out back in the 1980's. I remember when KOF 94 came out and I was amazed and very happy at the same time. I have always wanted a King of Fighters anime since 1994.

Still waiting for Krizalid to make a Comeback in a potential KOF XV Season 3, doesn't have to be a Boss Rush Mode, just as a Regular Character in the Roster.

My dream KOf roster is so close to complete. KOF15 is one of the greatest fighting games imo.
We need a Capcom vs SNK more than any other title. Both companies need come together and make the old school fans excited
Capcom is not making a new Darkstalkers, a new Rival Schools ect. I don't think they want to bring anything that will draw attention away from SF6. And a CVS 3 would definitely do that. I hope I'm wrong, but don't have high hopes.

@@chibisf4 CvS made sense because Capcom had already given up SF and all other franchises were dead, except MvC, but still the last game was soon to come. SF died in 99, MvC2 was out in 00, and CvS1 was out in 00 too. It was the death of all their classic 2d fgs. Meanwhile SNK as a whole was about to die: Garou MoTW 2 was cancelled and its last games were KoF 00 and M. Slug in 00. And then they officially closed in 01.
So CvS was like a glorious ending for both sides. For SNK it was everything and for Capcom it was their classic fgs. But now both companies are in good shape about fgs. Their own games have a real future.
@@chibisf4Maybe SF6's success under these new producers (new for SF) convince Capcom to let another fg being made, but I don't think they will allow CvS because it will obviously take all attention from SF.
Also both Capcom and SNK are well aware of game cannibalism: the same company makes many games of the same genre too often and only one or two outshine everything else... and sometimes the games actually are good but that's not enough to draw attention from the mainstream franchises. (Like Darkstalkers for Capcom and Last Blade for SNK) They won't make the same mistake these days.

I would like to see KOFXV Season 3, but I have a feeling we may not get it.
I know we will see more of CotW. If it’s planned to be released in 2024, I think that makes it less likely we will see a season 3 for KOFXV.
Speaking of Fatal Fury, I would like to see a Fatal Fury Neo Geo Collection for the series.
I’m terms of KOF, SNK has been on a tear brining back a lot of their classic titles. I’m hopeful one day we will see KOFXI getting a new release with rollback netcode.
I have a feeling we will get the Metal Slug Tactics game in 2024. I’m looking forward to it.
Samsho collection is really good because of the extras content, is massive, a lot of things, so great to know a franchise i barelly knew something about.
I’m hoping they do a collection for the 30th anniversary of KOF. Similar to what Capcom did for the 30th anniversary of SF. If they don’t do anything, then what the heck?
Yeah it will be very weird if SNK doesn't make any kind of collection to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their main franchise. It might not even be a complete collection, but something has to be done, and in the same style of the SF collection.
But I think at least a two part collection is doable: 1st from 94 to 99, 2nd from 00 to 11 + Neowave. And 13 has a new release already... And that one between 11 and 13... It must be skipped.
And I just remembered: there's also a chance of a new FF collection this year to warm up the market for the next game. Again same style of SF collection. And it would be nice if there's a well done detailed lore section to help outsiders.
I just want a new art of fighting game and bring Ryo back to glory, he is the next Mr Karate in kof verse, an equivalent to sfs akuma/gouki.

Outside KoF, that is a totally separated world, the real/canon world of FF and AOF actually set Ryo as a powerful character. Even more in the "current" Garou timeline, because he was already a monster in the classic FF timeline.
KoF focuses on its own chars and treats FF and AOF as literal jokes, who never have an important place in the plot of the story arcs. It's already the 2020s and that tendency never changed, so that situation is totally hopeless, we must not expect it to change.

I could see a NESTS Saga KOF Collection get a PS4 port, with '99 Evolution, 2000 and 2001 all in the same package. Sure the 2000/2001 combo pack exists, but having the entire saga (barring 2002) would be great.
I am very interested to see what plans they have for the games like a season 3 for KOF XV as well as news on Fatal Fury but i have to admit I am wondering more about all this Anime Oabari is talking about? It has me excited. Nice video Nabil

To me there's really a chance of getting a modern FF collection this year to warm up the community for the next game. Same style of the SF collection.
And it would be nice if there's a detailed lore section to help outsiders. The thing is that for a game like FF, that is richer than SF in story, its not good to return after 20+ years not giving any kind of context. It must not do like SF4, in that sense (and SF's hiatus was 9 years). So SNK has to work to make the story actually look meaningful to outsiders and worth of their attention.

Nah, what you need instead is *The King of Fighters Collection: The Ash Saga,*
where it contains 2003, XI, XII and XIII to choose from on one disc.
Heard it’s a tough one. The arcade version was launched on Atomiswave arcade (sega property), and unless SNK still has the source code to modify it from scratch, they’d have to negotiate with sega to be able to mess around with the Atomiswave rom. Same with the ps2 version being tied to Sony, since it was a ps2 exclusive for consoles. They’d have to negotiate with Sony to be able to use the ps2 rom. Those are the rumors I read. And since snk is launching EVERY mainline kof game out there, except XI…there might be some truth to those rumors.
I wish the new ff was in 2d... the 3d graphics just aren't to the same standard. Hopefully they improve upon kof xv.

Also, SNK is in discussion with Capcom about a possible new crossover, though if Capcom publishes it the game will most likely go in a more Marvel-like direction.

In my opinion I would say that in 2024 is coming, I think it’s brilliant idea that we want The King of Fighters Manga and Anime be coming soon for this IP. Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters Anime will be in the works, Good for Mr. Obari for adapting KOF into Anime Series! Also we do need a New Street Fighter Anime Series, Though Ed will be Coming to Street Fighter VI in January 2024 on New Years so keep ya Fingers Crossed! Capcom needs to adapt a New Street Fighter Anime, Though Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie was the first one that I watched in the 90’s, I do missed this Classical Anime Style of the Characters from Street Fighter II. If Capcom would bring in the best Anime Version of Ryu, Ken and the rest of the characters to return for new Anime Series from Past Events, Origins, Fighting Skills, Threats and Stuff. Think the Events take place before Street Fighter 1, Alpha, 2, 4, 5 and 3! And Capcom vs. SNK 3 will be coming in future crossover fighting game!
I hope to see Fatal fury City of the Wolves, Art of fighting 4, Kof xv Season 3 dlc characters, Street fighter 6, and Tekken 8 will new reboots and characters will returns.

KOFXV S3 with guest characters from other Fighters, COTW news/Info, KOF Netflix Anime, The Last Blade reboot ala SamSho.
A modern LB, as much as I like the game, would look like saturation, and that's not good for the company. In the current situation of SNK I can't support that sadly. The fg saturation was bad for SNK in the 90, regardless of our nostalgic feelings about their classic rich library. Let's not forget that there is a new AOF in the making as well... and non fgs in the making.
SNK still has to make their games look visually more respectable, approaching the current fg technical standards (SF, TK, MK, SC, Arc Systems fgs, etc) and spreading out too much their limited financial and human resources won't help, in principle. Like, Arc Systems can make lots of fgs without harming the graphics quality, but that's not the norm. Im afraid SNK might not be able to do the same.
To me it would be better to keep Samsho going and work on FF. And I don't know what to think about the next AOF yet.

I think there are good chances that retro collections happen for KOF and FF. Just like the Samsho collection, full of extra content and with online mode in games. The 1st one obviously for the 30th anniversary, and the 2nd one for occasion of the hype for next FF game.

If they're going to keep working on 15, we need like double the stage numbers. It's pretty sad how few there are.
It's a shame considering SNK losing the source code to KOF XI, but if they were to re-release it in some form, they will have to remake the game from the ground up.
@@NewGabeOrder it needs a massive rebalance anyways, the home exclusive characters have massive issues with hitboxes vanishing, glitches, etc.
So, here's hoping for a UM level of effort.
Don't know if we'll see City of the Wolves next year, but I'm pretty sure we'll at least see the initial roster. MotW had 14 playable characters, while RB2 had 22 (plus a secret boss), maybe SNK will want the game to have enough characters to make up for the years it took to develop the sequel. I just hope all of the characters from MotW can return, and while I want to see some familiar faces from previous Fatal Fury titles, I'd also like to see some new characters which could also appear in future KoF games.
As for an anime adaptation, it wouldn't be a bad idea, it'd be cool if Obari could be the director of a FF or KoF anime, there's those CGI movies made by Chinese studios, but I want to see a hand-drawn anime similar to those fighting game TV anime and OVAs from the 90s (like Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter and Darkstalkers, as other examples). The Tekken show that came out on Netflix was fine, but I didn't like the fact that it was made in cel-shaded CG
A KoF collection would be nice, though I guess SNK will include just the Neo-Geo versions from 94 to 2003, and XI, it wouldn't include the Special Editions for '98 and 2002 or the spin-off titles.
About the FF roster size, I think we must be prepared to be more or less "underwhelmed", in the sense of comparing it to the typical KoF roster size. It will never work to use KoF as a reference because it's a 3v3 game that always had big rosters (even the 1st one had a huge roster for 94, a time when rosters used to be 12-15) and FF is a 1v1 game that always had moderate size rosters.
And ok, that could change with the next game... Like SF4 made an unprecedented large roster for its typical sizes in the 90s. But it could not change too... maybe under the logic that FF is more story rich than SF and then some chars might not appear if it doesn't make sense in the story. That seems possible to me. And it's totally ok for FF imo.
@@carlosaugusto9821 well, I'm sure that all the characters from MotW will return, especially after we heard their voices in the last trailer, and we can be sure that the inclusion of Terry's MotW look in KoF XV, as well as the appearance of Rock, B.Jenet, Gato and Tizoc (sort of) means that SNK can reuse their models, just like how they used to recycle sprites, and perhaps some of City of the Wolves' developers also work in XV to get used to the engine. I think we also have the confirmation that Billy Kane, Andy and Joe will appear in the new game as well
If I had to choose some characters, I'll add some characters from previous FF games, especially if this is going to be the final Fatal Fury game, just as a grand finale. I'm thinking of adding Duck King and Big Bear/Raiden from FF1; Mai Shiranui and Ryo (as Mr. Karate II) from FF2; Blue Mary, Ryuji Yamazaki and Bob Wilson from FF3; Li Xiangfei, Rick Strowd and Alfred from RB2; Tsugumi Sendo from FF: Wild Ambition; and also try to add the proposed new characters that were meant to appear in the Neo-Geo version of Garou's sequel, like Joe's apprentice and Kain's butler
@@pablocasas5906 I think the revival nature of this new game will motivate Oda to make a roster in a broad and balanced way similar to SF4, with a bit of every side. So classic FF, RB, and MOTW... this last one the focus because of story reasons.
Another factor is that Oda worked on SF4 in the late 00s before returning to SNK, so that past job might inspire him to follow the same roster logic in order to make the most satisfying result. Like, follow the winning formula.
I suggest a King of Fighters collection series divided by sagas and with the cd quality music for all platforms
Im not sure if this is confirmed but I heard that SNK can't release games with the arranged soundtracks anymore because of legal reasons, and I have no details about that. If it's true it's very unfortunate because those ast's of the 90s are amazing.

Hard to happen imo. SNK doesn't have that production pace anymore, and that's for the good. KoF 15 is still yet to turn 2 years old. And the roster looks so "all star" that maybe SNK decides to work on it a little longer than expected, getting to a 4th season instead of turning right to the making of the sequel.

I'll be happy with Art of Fighting 4 as long as Ryo is main protagonist again and he has his full screen fireballs permanently restored.
I can take or leave his fire balls. I just want SNK to treat him more seriously instead of being part of a comic relief. I also want him to get more story.

You know what I'd love to see that SNK has never done? A 3D hack & slash game akin to Devil May Cry. It'd be interesting to see what aesthetic and gameplay mechanics they'd use to set themselves apart in that particular genre.
That thought isn't too far off, as the first Samurai Shodown was initially going to be an hack 'n slash/beat 'em up type of game, before they turned it into a great fighting game series, with Gen-An being the only character surviving the transition.
That sounds interesting, but the problem is that SNK has no experience with modern style action games. It seems like a gameplay system outside their league. To me the priority of their current movement (plan) towards non fgs must be in reviving the existing dead franchises like Metal Slug (outside mobile), Psycho Soldiers and Ikari Warriors.
I don't even mean remaking them exactly like the old games, which probably are too simple for the current era. But in the field of possibilities to expand those old games (maybe even to 3d versions) I just can't see them turning into anything close to DMC. Still it's possible to make nice things with all those games imo.

More stages are a necessity to me... not a matter of tastes or anything like that. The game really has few stages, and some teams even share the same stage but with simply with a time variation (like morning/evening). And if we remember that some older SNK games actually had stage variations in the next rounds, then setting plain variations as stages for different teams doesn't seem like a good thing to do in a ps4-ps5 game in the 2020s.
Secondly: all other fgs normally release dlc stages... While KOF 15 already got 20 dlc chars in two seasons, and only 2 stages. So there's no way to argue that this pace is fine compared to other games.
The devs could really turn things around if they use this chance to make a lot of nice fan service with remakes of classic stages. I mean the game already has classic stages, the last game as well, but it would be great to see more in modern graphics.
