This is a song from Herat. Herat is the center of Khursan. Khurasn is the cradle of civilization. The cultural and civilization zone that is called Khurasan includes today Afghanistan central Asia and eastern today Iran. So the song has its origin from Herat but it belongs to the culture of Khurasan and is familiar for all who have connection with htis culture. BTW. this song is also sang by Sami Yousuf with a religios theme. The songs of Khurasan are just like Beethoven's symphonys.
Rumi says, as Shams Tabrizi walked on water he sang "YA ALI", "YA ALI"!!! (Oh Ali, Oh Ali) End Of this song the guy sings "Mushgel Gusha Ali", it means Ali solves all Problems.
I had just left Mashad in Persia , it was dark and cold on the way to Herat . Not funny the small Mercedes bus I was in ran out of gas....circa 1973 ....we had some fuel on the bus , bled the fuel bowls to the diesel carbs , and we took out into the Afganistan night . There were 4 Americans on the bus with 2 of them being women . We arrived in Herat about 5:30 in the morning . I was asked if I wanted to visit the Mazzar..... ..etc.
Mausoleum Come on, let's go to the mausoleum of Mullah Muhammad Jan In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved (x3) I lamented at the top of the mountain I remember Ali (R.A)1 - The lion of God Oh Lion of God! Oh The Sultan of men! Turn these sad hearts of ours, happy Come on, let's go to the mausoleum of Mullah Muhammad Jan In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved Oh Ali! The lion of God! Be the cure to my pain! Convey this lamentation of mine to God These spiritual candles of mine; I lit them up in your name Wherever there is love, Be the cure to its pain! Come on, let's go to the mausoleum of Mullah Muhammad Jan In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved In the flooding flowers of (his) garden, Oh my beloved.

No ownership for a traditional folk. Also he never claimed he composed this. Look for proper info before jumping into conclusion with an hatred mindset
I was here for AR Rahman... Now in love with this track and her voice...
her voice is so divine, kinda like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's work, she makes you feel as if you are in heaven listening to the angels above

A very positive vibe comes out of this....
It's supposed to be their interpretation of a traditional Afghani song, so maybe that's why.

I've heard this song somewhere before....it sounds so familiar. Beautiful :)
Sami yousef may be
It's an epic Afghan song, sang by many infamous oriental singers with different lyrics. But this is the original lyrics.
I already know that. But I'm not Afghani, so that's why I found it strange that it was so familiar.
❤
