The surgery done is not right. He already has his teeth sticking out and not able to close his mouth so this(lip reduction)surgery should not have been done in this case as it would further make it difficult to close his lips(mouth) as the volume of lips would be reduced when lip reduction surgery is performed. Better approach would have been to first perform the orthognatic surgery/ orthodontic treatment(that would have corrected his teeth and in turn helped his lips go inward) and then if needed lip reduction could have been done.
I also have big lower lip it is very big and my lower lip get dry very fast and people used to tease me with it says you would look better with lipstick and girls used to say eww look at his lip... So as a man i agree that big lips don't look good enough in man.. a sharp jaw line and thin lips prefer more in man
