LOOKING FOR POLUNIN BALLET PERFORMANCES? ruclips.net/user/IndiaInkplaylists?view=50&sort=dd&shelf_id=2 You're invited to visit this page on my channel where I have been working on organizing all the quality recordings of Sergei Polunin's performances I've found on RUclips. Most of these playlists (nearly 30 so far!) compile near-complete or even full performances of ballets including Giselle performances with seven different ballerinas, Swan Lake with three different ballerinas, the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Spartacus, Mayerling, LaBayadere, Coppelia, and many more!
Agree! This is one of my very favorite roles to see Sergei in. It's such a delight to watch him perform such stunning dances in such a playful, lighthearted way.
Csodálatos elöadás. Gratulálok a Tisztelt karmesternek, zenekarnak Tisztelt balettmüvészeknek. Üdvözlö tisztelettel és köszönettel, György Tibrea (Gheorghe Țibrea).Sok-sok sikert kívánok a továbbiakban.
Many thanks for posting. I had never seeing this version of Coppelia. Very interesting choreography, I only wish it had been complete. Keep up your great work.
Glad you enjoyed! I wish I could see a complete version too! Over the next few weeks I hope to post the long videos I used to edit this together (the ones not currently on RUclips that I found on other sites.) If you're interested in watching them, they will be added to this Coppelia playlist on my channel: ruclips.net/p/PLVViYmp7YHMM-GS8qmuy1LUnbudWwBPUC. (A few are already on there.)
You're very welcome! I was SO excited to find this myself. It's so hard to find Sergei's full performances, so I'm happy to edit together and share with others these long pieces I manage to find. I have footage for several other ballets, and am hoping to get everything I have posted over the next couple of months. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@lenieverkaik I'm glad you enjoyed. I am very excited and happy to share these videos with other people who enjoy watching Sergei Polunin as much as I do.
Merry Christmas dear India Ink and many many thanks for all the moments of relief and pure joy you give us. They mean a lot especially in the present days of trouble and confusion.
Thank you for this amazing upload! There are sections of this ballet that I have never seen. I think Polunin is very suited to Petit's choreography and he seemed to be enjoying himself during the performance. It was also interesting to see Swanhilda switch between Shapran and Mikirticheva. They each bring a lot of personality to the role, and Polunin seems to dance equally well with both ballerinas. Spectacular technique from all the principals, and superb support from Swanhilda's friends and the entire corps of ladies and soldiers. And of course, the amazing Dr. Coppelius. I have now subscribed to your channel.
You're so welcome! Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I'm working hard to finish up a few more ballets I've found with Polunin in them, so hopefully you'll find them enjoyable, as well the other ballets I've already managed to finish here on my channel. I agree, Polunin is so much fun to watch in this role! It was on the top of my list of ballets he was in that I wanted to see the whole thing. I'd still like to see the rest of it, but since I can't find the whole thing for now, I was extremely happy to have found what appears to be at least most of his part of the performance, since he's (obviously) the main draw for me. Dr. Coppelius was also a fun role. I regret I wasn't able to confidently identify the dancer(s) playing him. I'm new to the ballet watching world and I had limited information about the footage I used. It was a tough call when I had to cut footage of one ballerina or the other. I thought Mikirtcheva had a very lively take on the role and I might make different choices on which footage to use if I was editing again. I have a link in the description to the channel I got the original footage from if you want to see more of either of their performances from Coppelia. Mikirtcheva and Shapran are also in the "La Bayadere" video here on my channel.
@Wendy Reymond Thanks! In reviews I'd found, I read that Nikita Kirillov and Anton Domashev played Dr. Coppelius in performances by the Stanislavsky ballet later that year, but since I'm not familiar with those dancers and sometimes struggle with facial recognition, I couldn't be sure if the role was performed by the same people in these videos. So that helps to know. I'll go ahead and put their names in credits. If someone knows differently, hopefully they'll let me know.
Frantz character very suitable for Polounin with the creative choreography of Roland Petit.I saw it in December 2919 in London with the amazing M Nunez and the stunning Muntagirov with the choreography of Ninette de Valois but i prefer R Petit.
Agree! Such a good match and Petit’s choreography is so fun while still giving great opportunities to see Sergei ‘s amazing skills shine. I’m glad you enjoyed!
Oooh miss the part where the doll/Swanhilda wakes up, and the spanish doll dance... But indeed the choreography is really funny and the performance kind of spontaneaous 😍
Yes, parts of this performance are missing - I imagine they are quite fun. I would enjoy seeing them. I'm not sure if there is a Spanish doll dance equivalent in this Petit version, as this is about as much as I've seen of the ballet. But I enjoy the choreography a lot. Very playful and fun. I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
Polunin is a better and high-quality dancer, he dances as much as this ballet requires of him. And this certainly cannot be measured by his level of knowledge. In other words: the choreography is very weak.
