you have the info panel that normally is in the top left turned off. It will tell you what biome you're in, the humidity level and the temperature. Its helpful because you can find spots with tropical right next to normal/normal so you can move between biomes with just a few steps. The Tropical Princess came from the village, which spawns in the apiary with a random drone with it. So the Tropical Princess spawned with a Modest drone in the village. It takes a full bee cycle (about 30 seconds) to check for nearby flowers, just gotta be patient. When you get the Cultivated Princess/Drones from the quest rewards. Set them up making Honey automated as quickly as possible. At least 5 apiaries running. You're going to need huge amounts of honey for Alveary blocks.

Thank you for the info. I will definitely set up some honey automation with some cultivated bees.

it's so interesting to watch because I've never done bees myself and I don't know anything about them. I might just have to start doing bees myself because in this pack you often have points where you need to produce *tons* of a certain resource to reach a certain goal after which getting that resource becomes almost trivial. when I search for best ways to get past these points other players often mention bees. so I take it they're really useful in gtnh

Yeah I have seen others use bees to supplement their resources or even rely solely on bees for certain resources. I also have never really done bees so I am learning as I go (like with most of this pack). I find them not as complicated as I thought as I get going with them. I just see that they may take some time to get set up.
