I really love what they portrayed in this video. That once you come out, your sexuality controls you and it's all you think about. But over time, you are in control of it and it's a mere part of you rather than being all of who you are.
That's what I'm scared about. What if it's not real? What if it's just a phase? What if it's just following the trend? How could I know what I'm feeling for who?
Am I the only one who interpreted this as coming out as asexual? It looks like neither male nor female gender worked out for her in the end. She also ate at the same restaurant by herself. I think the video is about being content about your sexuality, and not just about coming out as gay.
nah, this was about coming out as a lesbian. sorry. the experiences matches my own almost exactly. seeking identity via a relationship with another person, realizing that doesn't work, and becoming comfortable in your own orientation without using another person as a crutch. her enjoying things, eating alone, making space for herself aren't things that inherently point to her being asexual. she's just getting more comfortable in herself without actively seeking a relationship.
Becca Ford chantel is straight she's literally spoken about dating guys in previous videos, the personality and make up of the character she portraying is completely different to her intentionally to highlight the fact she's acting and isn't supposed to be Chantel
Recently I've come to the realization that I'm Ace. And when i finally decided to tell someone i was so sure they were going to say that i wasn't. Thankfully they were understanding and supportive and willing to listen to what i had to say.
Like so many others Clicked on this video after seeing Chantel and Ashly’s wedding announcement so happy for them the hints were there aka they owned the same cat ;) but pleased they did everything on their own terms
thats seriously the best reaction you can get. its 100 times better than a big hurray. i remember when i came out to my brother and all he said was "oh really? thats cool but i kinda already knew."

Exactly it’s like I don’t remember you being there when I had the moment of realization that I wasn’t straight and then started having a mental breakdown!
i have problems what sexuality i am and my cousin says she don't suport gay and bi and that stuff... that pissed me off and a litlle bit scared me what if i am gay or bi ARE THEY GOING TO EXEPT ME?
Coffee Addict you should tell her, if she can't accept you for who you are, then your friendship wasn't meant to be. The fact that you opened up to her would be a sign that you're honest with her and yourself. do it when you're ready, don't let anyone pressure you into making a choice that you're not comfortable with.
Coffee Addict you should honestly do it. At one point in my life I was very homophobic and my best friend came out to me. It honestly made me understand the LGBTQ community a lot more, and opened my eyes.
I haven't told my mom that I'm bi yet and I don't know why cause she fully supports being gay but I'm still scared! Update: tbh I kinda forgot about this comment but I came out to my parents about six months ago and honestly it went so well and I'm so grateful to have some amazing parents that don't care about my sexuality. To anyone who may not have the best parents I hope eventually your parents will come to terms and you can live without that kind of stress. And to anyone who hasn't come out yet I wish you the best of luck! ❤️
Swagalicious Unicorn I'm in the same boat. we have gay relatives, but I know they still have ideas about gay people and especially about bisexuality that make me worry.
I haven't told my parents either, and I just recently found out I'm pan, but I have no idea what my parents think. I don't even have the guts to come out to my siblings...
Marissa Seagal yeah my friends mom found out and her mom and dad are a Christian and she screamed and abused her until she started crying. It's so fucked up
I'm bi. My friends at school know it, but I don't know what to do about my family. They don't know yet and I'm scared to come out the closet.... Idk what they will think or do...
idealisticflamingo hey don't worry about it. I know what it's like my family is strictly Christian and treats it like prostitution or something like that
One of the best videos/short films I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Whoever made/conceptualized/shot/and mainly edited it, take a bow. So moving and touching!!! I felt a chill down my spine in the end. So so relatable and inspiring, yet magical. Self acceptance is the key.
It's mainstream aganist minority, which means mainstream behaviour is what you assume would happen, and if you are part of the minorities, you are kind of supposed to show it to get out of the mainstream. You know?
Aoife Lynch buzzfeed girls I would date: Ashly, Jen, that girl that I forget her name but she has blond and dark in her hair and I think she's bi, that girl with the short blue hair and glasses Guys from buzzfeed I'd date: Eugene
Mari Val I wish my father were like that. I haven’t come out to him yet, (I’m lesbian), and I don’t know how he’ll react. Considering the fact that we’re Christian and he was raised in Montgomery, Alabama.. Luckily, we don’t live in the same house, he lives in New York, and I live in Arkansas.
she identified in an episode of 'in the closet' as queer, a term that can be used by pretty much all lgbt+ identities, even so she doesnt have to explain her sexuality to random people on the internet!
seeing this after seeing that chantel and ashly got married is incredible!! capturing this experience of coming to terms with it was so helpful for me. i’m so happy that they also ended up getting together. in the end it really is self love that helps love come to you. thank you for making this lovely video!
That's totally fine if you wouldn't mind dating a girl I never crushed on girls too much but I found one girl I crushed on A FRIGGIN LOT and now we've gotten together! You don't have to be gay it's just kind and considerate to be tolerable of people sexualities :D
Brittany Basdeo but what if you've never liked anyone but can still see yourself dating them? doesn't mean you're aromantic, just maybe demi or haven't found anyone
Finally a video what says gay people are "normal" instead of bloody amazing all the time. If you are gay, I don't care. Not as in I accept you as a gay person, but as in I have no interest in your sexuality. I accept you as a person, just as "normal" as anyone. A person who has fun and has problems, just as anyone else. Good job Buzzfeed. You're getting better again.
you don't have to because people probably assume you're straight. when you don't look like the 'gay stereotype', it can be helpful if people know so they know whether or not to pursue you :) and vice versa
pointyforkinshoes Yes, but that's only interesting when people are date material. I don't wanna date my friends, nor people I barely know. You know, it's only useful/interesting information when you want to know if romance is an option.
Joshualacruz agreed, but being openly gay is much easier (and less awkward) than telling someone you're interested in 1-on-1 that you swing that way ;) no hate intended btw, just giving my own perspective on it! though I can see where you're coming from :)
that happened to me telling my friend that im bi and he said "i know" it feels great right after you say it and they don't mind they still appreciate you still! i makes me happy
Little.Phangirl_LPS I told my friend I was bi and she said like every five minutes that she was straight and she kept repeating that I was gay atleat my other friends still appreciate me
cangle 26 Well don't feel pressured u have to do it soon, u should tell everyone when your ready. There's no way of knowing if they'll treat u any different afterwards unless u talk to them about it (again when your ready), do u have a friend u really trust? Cause if u do talk to them about it at least so u might get someone to help u through it.
When I was little, I used to think that some people just liked rainbows, and that was why they had rainbow flags on their houses. Now that I know it's a gay pride symbol, it makes me almost cry with joy when people show their support. It helps me, as a pansexual, know that I'm not alone in this crazy fucked up world.
England is My city pansexual means, as mentioned, liking all genders. The prefix 'pan' meaning all. Though it's commonly confused with bisexual they are not the same. Bisexual is two genders and pansexual is all genders!
I agree with some comments, it's harder coming out to yourself, I'm still figuring it out, have never dated anyone, haven't kissed anyone, I'm 15, but I'm sometimes SO sure I'm bi but other times I'm not, and what makes it even worse is that my mom is so strict and she's not that supportive of gay people, my dad is, he has a lot of gay friends, but I don't think I can tell him because he'd tell my mom immediately, I'm Puerto Rican, and if anyone latino is reading this you can FEEL how frustrated I am. (Edit: if any of you want to talk to me about it PLEASE dm me on ig or snap me on sc, my ig is @rosesnglitter and my sc is sueadriana01, reach out to me and we can talk about our problems 💖)
Sue Adriana im also latina and mexican, i believe my mom would accept but im not sure about my dad and i understand you very well. It was hard coming out to my friends and some of my cousins and sisters but it was hard for me to accept myself knowing this is who i am and i rather kiss and be with a girl than a guy and i identify myself as a lesbian. I have never dated but i have kissed a girl and a am 14
the most important thing for you to remember is that you dont NEED a label - you can just BE. go about your life and meet people, and eventually you'll like someone, and if one day you find out you feel like you fit best into a certain label, then you can wear it, but dont try to force yourself into it. you dont need to know right away. as for coming out, its a similar thing: only do it when you know you'll be safe and comfortable. you have the advantage of having one parent thats fully supportive and that most likely means your mother isnt THAT against it -probably just doesnt understand it. a parent thats somewhat open will see things differently when they come from their own child, so when the time comes and if you do come out, your father will probably be a great help to you, given that im sure he has some sort of influence over your mother as well. long story short: give yourself the time to find out, dont rush into it, and dont force it. whoever you are, its valid, it is okay, and you will be fine. good luck!!
Sue Adriana I am from india and I feel the same i am 16 years old and I am facing the same problem as u it is just that my parents are both strict about these things
I'm bisexual but to scared to come out but I'm in love with my best friend who is a male and my female best friend likes me idk what to do I'm crying every time I see a gay couple in public
I'm bisexual and I'm scared to come out to my best friend (who is a girl) I'm scared she might be Homophobic about it, I'm not in love with her or anything but I'm so scared. So yeah I kind of get what you're in.
@@mooneymagic4521 I'm bi too i came out without even thinking about it when i was a bit younger claiming it could be a phase she is not very open to lgbt but she said that she loves and cares for me regardless.. oh that makes more sense, thanks!
It would be rather nice to have a coming out as asexual video though, wouldn't it?
Alvin Nguyen i think that's more about finding your true self by stop labeling and enjoying sexuality as it is.
Kitti L The paradoxical thing is that there is a label for not labeling your sexuality.... I mean, wouldn't that just be pansexual?

The dad in this is genuinely my favourite person in the world
funny thing, I just came out two days ago.
It didn't go well.
idealisticflamingo I'm sorry :(((
idealisticflamingo I'm so sorry. :(
***** thank you
idealisticflamingo hey don't worry about it. I know what it's like
my family is strictly Christian and treats it like prostitution or something like that

And how can I not mention how perfect BGscore here is! Stunning is the word. I am obsessed.
I WAS NOT EXPECTING CHANTEL TO BE THE ONE😍YAY
So you didnt watch the whole vidio
IKR!!!
wait chantel is not lesb or bi ?
Your cute
Never mind chantel is the one in real life
It’s so cute cause her and chantel are married now!!

"you're not gay you haven't even kissed a girl" so that means that I'm not straight cuse I haven't kissed a guy xD
nicebat That's funny.
nicebat ikr
nicebat this is kinda random but does it count as a kiss if a girl kisses me on the cheek in a flirting way?
It's mainstream aganist minority, which means mainstream behaviour is what you assume would happen, and if you are part of the minorities, you are kind of supposed to show it to get out of the mainstream. You know?
Pretty much 😂
I love Ashly ❤️
yeah me too she's the best right?
Aoife Lynch buzzfeed girls I would date: Ashly, Jen, that girl that I forget her name but she has blond and dark in her hair and I think she's bi, that girl with the short blue hair and glasses
Guys from buzzfeed I'd date: Eugene
And Brittany. Totally Brittany (with the dark hair)
i think i'd date Ashly, kelsey darragh, shila and chantel but they're basically all hot so..
sheekh manshawi
Chantelle and Ashly are married and Ashly’s real life dad passed away. It’s wild.
im now crying because of her dad, that was way too cute
Mari ikr
Mari Val I wish my father were like that. I haven’t come out to him yet, (I’m lesbian), and I don’t know how he’ll react. Considering the fact that we’re Christian and he was raised in Montgomery, Alabama.. Luckily, we don’t live in the same house, he lives in New York, and I live in Arkansas.
i always tear up when her dad is wearing the rainbow tie
same ;n;
Wait I thought she was bi? HELP
Jolie Sandbell thought the same
Jolie Sandbell yeah... IT'S CALLED ACTING LOL
she identified in an episode of 'in the closet' as queer, a term that can be used by pretty much all lgbt+ identities, even so she doesnt have to explain her sexuality to random people on the internet!
If I were interested in dating Ashly, I wouldn't care if she was gay or bi.
Jolie Sandbell So did i. But I still like her, she is amazing!
seeing this after seeing that chantel and ashly got married is incredible!! capturing this experience of coming to terms with it was so helpful for me. i’m so happy that they also ended up getting together. in the end it really is self love that helps love come to you. thank you for making this lovely video!
i actually wouldn't mind dating a girl but i never had a crush on one
titanslayer don't do it because it's trendy if you never had a crush on a girl then don't date one because your not gay
That's totally fine if you wouldn't mind dating a girl I never crushed on girls too much but I found one girl I crushed on A FRIGGIN LOT and now we've gotten together!
You don't have to be gay it's just kind and considerate to be tolerable of people sexualities :D
titanslayer I do have crushes on guys and girls but I have never been with any of them
Brittany Basdeo but what if you've never liked anyone but can still see yourself dating them? doesn't mean you're aromantic, just maybe demi or haven't found anyone
titanslayer me too
2:15 had me dead😂
Same
Lol
😂 Love that
Why....
I CRIED WHEN THE DAD WORE THE RAINBOW TIE
Oh my gosh me too! Lol glad I wasn't the only one!
OML! SAME!
what does that indicate
Rainbow colors on anything are usually a symbol for LGBT+ Pride and LGBT+ support.
Arya Rivers ok got it. Thanks
If someone asked me to summarize coming out in a few words, I would say that coming out is a process that takes patience.
person: you're not gay you've never kissed a girl
me: YoUrE nOt gAy yOuVe NeVeR kIssEd a GirL
"Youre no straight cuz youve never kissed the opposite sex" XD
nice pfp

Charlie Mcnally lol 😂
Finally a video what says gay people are "normal" instead of bloody amazing all the time.
If you are gay, I don't care. Not as in I accept you as a gay person, but as in I have no interest in your sexuality.
I accept you as a person, just as "normal" as anyone. A person who has fun and has problems, just as anyone else.
Good job Buzzfeed. You're getting better again.
Joshualacruz agreed. i dont announce to the world im straight. they should keep it down
you don't have to because people probably assume you're straight. when you don't look like the 'gay stereotype', it can be helpful if people know so they know whether or not to pursue you :) and vice versa
pointyforkinshoes Yes, but that's only interesting when people are date material. I don't wanna date my friends, nor people I barely know.
You know, it's only useful/interesting information when you want to know if romance is an option.
...but fridges contain food... isn't everyone attracted to them?
Joshualacruz agreed, but being openly gay is much easier (and less awkward) than telling someone you're interested in 1-on-1 that you swing that way ;)
no hate intended btw, just giving my own perspective on it! though I can see where you're coming from :)
It makes me laugh when I here people be like I'm gay and the other is like I know, makes me so happy
scarlett jones uhm what?
scarlett jones I came out to my brother and he said he knew. I figured he did but it was still stressful so it made it easier coming out to him.
+Olivia Stilley Gay also means happy.
that happened to me telling my friend that im bi and he said "i know" it feels great right after you say it and they don't mind they still appreciate you still! i makes me happy
Little.Phangirl_LPS I told my friend I was bi and she said like every five minutes that she was straight and she kept repeating that I was gay atleat my other friends still appreciate me
this helped me realize i’m gay so much many years ago. representation is so important
3:33 when he pointed at his rainbow tie omg I almost cried it was so cute
"I'm gay" "yeah I know" me when I come out
SkylarIsRandom same😂
Same here😁
I'm bi and nobody in my life knows it don't know what to do
cangle 26 Well don't feel pressured u have to do it soon, u should tell everyone when your ready. There's no way of knowing if they'll treat u any different afterwards unless u talk to them about it (again when your ready), do u have a friend u really trust? Cause if u do talk to them about it at least so u might get someone to help u through it.
SkylarIsRandom my dad's answer when I told him
It doesn't matter what you are we all are humans.

I can't stand when people say bisexuality isn't real..
Karma Buckner Ikr I actually feel like everyone is a little bi...Is that wrong to think? I'm asexual so sexuality is confusing for me, but...
same for pan
You wish You were Lin no, not everybody is a little bi..either you are or youre not
It's not real
Tim Xman shut up
And now… they are married ❤️😢
This was really, really well edited!
From a multimillion pound company, I would expect it to be.
“You’ve never even kissed a girl”
OH EXCUSE ME IVE NEVER KISSED ANYONE DOES THAT MEAN IM NOT BI???
maybe
Yeah I know... I'v heard that one a lot believe me
Chillll... It’s staged
Or your just despret 😌
Nope you're still Bisexual
When I was little, I used to think that some people just liked rainbows, and that was why they had rainbow flags on their houses. Now that I know it's a gay pride symbol, it makes me almost cry with joy when people show their support. It helps me, as a pansexual, know that I'm not alone in this crazy fucked up world.
England is My city it means you like all genders
England is My city pansexual means, as mentioned, liking all genders. The prefix 'pan' meaning all. Though it's commonly confused with bisexual they are not the same. Bisexual is two genders and pansexual is all genders!
TheBeastlyPanda 04 gaaay
But thats gay
I have a friend I could set you up with, she's pansexual tooo
And now they're married irl :')
I have never dated but i have kissed a girl and a am 14
the most important thing for you to remember is that you dont NEED a label - you can just BE. go about your life and meet people, and eventually you'll like someone, and if one day you find out you feel like you fit best into a certain label, then you can wear it, but dont try to force yourself into it. you dont need to know right away.
as for coming out, its a similar thing: only do it when you know you'll be safe and comfortable. you have the advantage of having one parent thats fully supportive and that most likely means your mother isnt THAT against it -probably just doesnt understand it. a parent thats somewhat open will see things differently when they come from their own child, so when the time comes and if you do come out, your father will probably be a great help to you, given that im sure he has some sort of influence over your mother as well.
long story short: give yourself the time to find out, dont rush into it, and dont force it. whoever you are, its valid, it is okay, and you will be fine.
good luck!!
Sue Adriana
I am from india and I feel the same i am 16 years old and I am facing the same problem as u it is just that my parents are both strict about these things
Sue Adriana I've never dated or kissed anyone and I know I'm straight.
same, I'm trans and I know my dad is supportive about it but my mom is transphobic.
I'm bisexual but to scared to come out but I'm in love with my best friend who is a male and my female best friend likes me idk what to do I'm crying every time I see a gay couple in public
Do you need someone to talk to
@@harrys4576 wth
Same
I'm bisexual and I'm scared to come out to my best friend (who is a girl) I'm scared she might be Homophobic about it, I'm not in love with her or anything but I'm so scared. So yeah I kind of get what you're in.
@@mooneymagic4521 I'm bi too i came out without even thinking about it when i was a bit younger claiming it could be a phase she is not very open to lgbt but she said that she loves and cares for me regardless.. Years have passed and I'm still bi but have recently discovered I'm asexual too so, biromantic asexual
3:23 why is this me before school? 🤣
thats me every day so what u talking about
PTX FAN not a competition boo😘

Joyce A -deg-bo-ye-ga is gay as a homosexual.
I had to find out what I am.
i hate that i watched this video four years ago and still thought i was straight.
