i remember going to this tour when i graduated high school, and this was my favorite slayer song at the time. i was goin' nuts when they played it. and this was also like my 2nd metal concert. t'was a good one.
@vomitore I agree 100%. love Hanneman's lead on the Antichrist. Also, my favourite song off the album is Chrionics- probably one of the only Slayer songs with TWO melodic guitar solos!!!
I was in shock for an hour, after I read he died 23 hours earlier, as I read my Metalnews a friday?? (I had a girl in my bed) Luckily she didn't wake up! It was very emotional for me to wake up & see a pic : Hanneman R.I.P '13. I was lucky to see'em back in '88 on South of He..Tour & enjoyed 4 concerts w/ the Thrash-kings. Summer 10was last time I saw Jeff alive. In my eyes, Slayer should stop now, while they are on the Top. Lombardo is fired, the founder is dead. You are legends! Thanx SLAYER \m/
@spikedavid64 Venom played a huge part in regards to the satanic image. Aside from Black Sabbath, Venom was one of the few bands whose lyrical content was mainly inspired by the occult. But I do think that Maiden, Priest, DRI, Bad Brains and Black Flag had a bigger influence.
Slayer has my total respect they do not need fucken airplay to sell records but their music they are true not bullshit fucken pretenders SLAYER RULES !!
@nikkisixxfan86 Nope, but I have two guitars. One with locking trem has to stay in E or in D, the other one that never stays in the same tuning for more than a week. I'm saving for a third one and during the next summer holidays I'll work up the money to get a fourth one.
@aaronamccoy From which, the major part of the plantations started when Italian explorer, working on behalf of the Spanish royals, plus Spanish commanders set in Sound & Central America. And if your username is also your real name, your family (at least on your father's side), is Scottish (as McCoy is mostly from Scotland).
@darklordbaf That makes TWO of us! In my opinion, UNFORTUNATELY, like Kiss, Judas Priest, Ozzy, AC/DC, and Iron Maiden, it's obvious that "old age" has taken its toll on the band. In my opinion, pretty soon, Slayer will be SO OLD, you'll ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO HEAR what Tom's "singing!" In the '80s, you couldn't!
You haven't seen them because you don't want! 3 years ago I took a 21 hours bus travel from my city to the place where they play (along with ghost and maiden) and other 21 hours to come back. Every hour totally worthed it. So, stop whinning!
Slayer will be in Montreal Quebec on September 13th with Anthrax and I wanna go so bad but I'm broke af T_T What a time to decide to go back to school... all my favourite bands are touring and they're all hitting Montreal sometime this summer (Which is about a 12 hour drive from me I think) but I have no money at all. Broke student life
Tom actually sounded really good on this one. He can be sort of lack luster live these days. Not to say he's bad, but let's just say that shouting into a microphone every night for 30 years is going to take its toll.
Kyle Boedeker Yeah, I've seen some recent videos and he can actually do the Angel of Death scream pretty well, considering. I met a guy at a show a few weeks ago who had seen them only a few days before and he said that it was everything you would expect. \m/
Tom sounds the same for 30 years. After he stopped handbanging his voice magically healed and he sounded identical to all the albums, and the man screams like its nothing
@girlie347 Venom are amazing, and theyre one of the most important bands in metal history, theyre really underrated, without them there wouldnt be black metal and thrash metal, their first album Welcome to Hell was the first thrash metal ever and they also influenced loads of black metal and death metal bands, and also thrash bands like the best of all Slayer, without Venom there wouldnt be any Slayer
antichrsit , tormentor , black magic, die by the sword ,must be play in all the concert ojala se alla entendido q son muy buenas esos temas deberian tocarlas siempre
One of jeffs most memorable solos
Playxbox_Makemusic_ 83 we can't deny
1:34
Cameraman: Hey Jeff, how badass can you look during your solo?
Jeff: yes
it's like an Iron Maiden solo
Indeed, rot solo!
Great solo, so melodic
i am almost in tears when i hear Jeff's solo. A fucking master. RIP brother.
I tore my neck off at the transition between King`s and Jeff Hanneman`s solos. The riff is super heavy. \m/
Well the best part is that fast part where Jeff solos and then Tom says "SCREAAAAMS" 🤘🏻
Best Jeff Solo Ever!
Nahuemetalico The neck pickup tone is smoooth...!!
I instantly knew it was Dave after the first 10 seconds - Bostaph was never close. Killer performance.
WOW jeffs part of the solo was amazing RIP brother.
old & bold but can still rock out like crazy! SLAYER
Jeff’s solo is incredible in this song.
i remember going to this tour when i graduated high school, and this was my favorite slayer song at the time. i was goin' nuts when they played it. and this was also like my 2nd metal concert. t'was a good one.
the old Slayer stuff actually has heavy melody! Good schitt!
this is a perfect thrash song |m| it has speed, force, and even the lyrics is so metal |m|
Everybody is gushing over Jeff's solo, but Kerry's solo is pretty kickass too, and his playing is spot on.
Back then, Kerry King would sit down and craft some wonderful solos.
JEFF HANNEMAN
LIVE UNDEAD
31/01/1964 - 02/05/2013
I saw this song played live this March! Was about 6 rows from the stage..I'm sure I don't have to tell you how awesome it was ^^
The beast of thrash metal
Sounds great live. This song should be placed on recent setlists
The Best for all the time .
@vomitore I agree 100%. love Hanneman's lead on the Antichrist. Also, my favourite song off the album is Chrionics- probably one of the only Slayer songs with TWO melodic guitar solos!!!

That solo has a very Iron Maiden feel to it! Sounds awesome!
That riff is incredible

I follow and believe in this school
bow Down to Slayer
@jesse17ful I agree! Since they played Reign In Blood in its entirety, I wish they'd play their first three releases in their entirety!
@nikkisixxfan86 Nope, but I have two guitars. One with locking trem has to stay in E or in D, the other one that never stays in the same tuning for more than a week. I'm saving for a third one and during the next summer holidays I'll work up the money to get a fourth one.
Jeff's Solo is probably the closest thing they have to a "normal" sounding solo ngl, it sound beautiful.
sounds too fucking good to be live haha
slayer are the gods of metal, they play perfect live

@wales2k4eva That's what over 25 years of thrash metal singing does to your voice.. he still nails it in his own awesome how though!!

I wanna see Slayer live sooooo freaking bad! They never tour anywhere close to where I live :'C
You haven't seen them because you don't want! 3 years ago I took a 21 hours bus travel from my city to the place where they play (along with ghost and maiden) and other 21 hours to come back. Every hour totally worthed it. So, stop whinning!

That. That was THE lineup.

@southplnk yes, but you have to admit it's true! Kerry tries to make it sound all fast, but Jeff adds PASSION!!!
Der Wahnsinn... Nur geil
Dukaralho!
Poor Tom ruined his voice from screaming all those years. Still good vocals though!
naw he still sounds fine
He sounds better now than he has in a long time
It sound better raspy and distressed in my opinion
Wait till you hear Serj Tankian
Tom sounds the same for 30 years. After he stopped handbanging his voice magically healed and he sounded identical to all the albums, and the man screams like its nothing
