This video contains over one hour of HD time lapse condensed into 5 minutes. This monumental supercell occurred near Booker, Texas on 3rd June 2013 and in combination with the landscape and setting sun, I witnessed some of the most amazing storm structures, colours and scenes I've ever witnessed. This video combines footage I shot using 3 cameras including a Canon 6D, a Sony HD handycam and a GoPro Hero2.

Since a Tornado hit in Czech Republic, near me, i started to watch a lot of stuff about storms and those stuff and i really am realising how massive it is and how dangerously beautifully scary it is.
I started to watch things like that since 2014, when the ,,ela" supercell hit germany
im from czech and im from Hodonín
And to make the round complete: Iam german, too, following stormvideos on TV & YT since 2008. :-)

While there was a possible debris field , I think it’s just a big supercell that COULD have produced a tornado but if you keep some distance and have basic knowledge of the direction storms travel (downdraft is the leading edge) you’ll be fine
It’s a supercell can cause tornadoes but isn’t really that dangerous as long as it brings no tornadoes

Okay the ticking sounds added such a level of suspense. It’s so beautiful but the big boy kept teasing us that he was about to drop the baddest tornado of 2013 a few times and it had my heart racing. Great capture
One of those houses hit was mine. Very thankful that we are all safe and our house, although severely damaged, was not destroyed. Feeling bad for all those who had it worse than we did but grateful that there have men no reports of fatalities or serious injuries.

This vid really shows some of the science of how a tornado may form, @ 1:40-2:20 look at those down drafts from the rain segment of the cloud and how they swirl and get re-captured and pulled into the funnel cloud.Epic cinematography, thank you for posting!

I even think the segment later, after 2:20, is showing this more detailled. The swirling dust on the ground at the left edge, on the backend of the updraft if you wanna say so. Right, when is coming right arround the corner. All those small vorticities which come in along the tail cloud, which are tilted up, they want to accumulate there and form a tornado.

Lived in Huntsville Alabama for a couple years and overlooked the whole town, one day I noticed the crazy colored clouds and such and as it grew closer to the house you could begin to see the clouds move in a pretty dramatic circular motion, it didn't materialize but it's an incredibly eerie feeling..!

Ye there nice and calm from a distance but when ones right over top of you, you start to have an anxiety attack and it's the worst feeling cause those pos produce tornados and I like thunderstorms just not ones that produce tornados

Well people are naturally afraid of thunderstorms, and supercells are the scariest and most dangerous thunderstorms. But end of day, no world is gonna end because of a thunderstorm. I've watched other vids of this supercell, and some guys actually got really close to it, it was impressive to watch. And nothing happened to them
Terrifying but comforting at the same time sometimes these supercell thunderstorms don't even look real. I have been learning about clouds it is quite interesting respect to these guys for risking their own lives just for us to be satisfied thank you dudes and keep up the good work!

What really would concern me when you're driving away: I saw that on the right, the clouds that went into the storm indented upwards, showing how strong of an inflow and an updraft that thing has.
@@Joskin4661 EF15 doesnt exist lmao plus this isnt the largest the 2013 El-Reno tornado is the largest, at about 300mph winds and 2.6 miles wide

0:48 That's horrifying. The warm air rising into the cell at the base is flowing from the mass of cold precipitating condensation to the right. It almost appears to be flung out of the storm by the rotation. *You can actually see the downdraft literally feeding the updraft!* Holy fuck. This really takes the term "vicious cycle" to a whole new level lol (pun intended).

I agree lol, most of our day is forecasting, targetting and chasing for an intercept. The action is often shown on the video and it's usually then that the storm is doing the chasing ;)
I live in a area with many mountains, so I would absolutely kill to see one of these irl, just the absolute size of these storms is breathtaking, I also love How the storm would tease like it was about to drop the biggest tornado ever, I have mixed feelings about being THAT close to a supercell, but I love them so much, I want to experience being eight iunder one, the clouds look so thick that they totally block out the sun, makes you wonder what it would like from space

I remember long ago, I was running errands with my mom, it was raining cats and dogs, lightning flashed everywhere, as we started to drive home, I saw in a flash of lightning the rotating supercell looming above us, I was frozen in sheer terror, gotta be the most terrifying thing i've ever seen in person.

Nah. Just a summer storm in Texas. I have been in hurricane's, tornado's and bad down bursts. Being in north Texas, we are in tornado alley. Every summer those alarms will go off and you know, it's time to bring in the pets! Sirens starting off and building to a high pitch and staying there = tornado. Sirens starting off, building to a high pitch, falling into a low pitch and climbing back up again to a high pitch -= you have just a few minutes to live, before we get nuked. :)
