Wow this is amazing mate - I’m from Leeds too & I’m absolutely obsessed in Papua New Guinea Rugby League - I used to run a PNG RL website years ago I was that mad on Rugby League in PNG - it would truly be a dream for me to go watch Rugby league there and chat to the league fans … great video mate ! Ps. Big Leeds Rhinos fan !
@@rjworldsportsnews thanks, mate. I highly recommend making plans to head over. Stay tuned for the next vid where I bump into a Rhinos legend on my way to watch the third Origin test 👀
@@kirk.will.travel just watched the other videos mate that’s awesome - also loved that you met Marcus Bai - I once met him in a bar in Leeds years ago when he played for us - I’ll leave a comment on the Origin Bai video mate
Great to see mate. UK (Huddersfield) is the origin of Rugby League, Australia is the superpower of RL but PNG especially in the villages is played and supported with what i can say is the Soul of Rugby League. If you can somehow manage to go watch a local game up in the Highlands youll understand why.
Thank you very much Kirk for visiting and providing a decent perspective on our most loved sport. Hope you had a blast here. Oh and I loved the Rhinos too. Bai, Seinfield and the Late Rob Burrow where my favorites. I had tears when Rob passed he was amazing. Oh and Seinfield was inspirational the way he stood by his mate. Again thank you for coming over and we hope more can follow in your footstep and experience PNG league for themselves.
I'm delighted to hear the lives and actions of Rob Burrow and his best mate, Kevin Sinfield, touched the RL community in PNG too. Their impact over here in UK in the RL, MND and wider community has been huge. My pleasure visiting your country, I will be back 🇵🇬
Good one bro.... Recommendations, next time catch the PM's 13 match (or a Kumuls game) or the Digicel Exxon Mobil Cup Grand Final. It goes off.... but awesome stuff
When was this video taken?... I'm sorry bro for the security service here but sorry we have this strict restrictions policy that they don't like people taking video's and putting them online. But I hate it when they do that here. Very frustrating but I hope you enjoyed watching it raw here. But to be honest you haven't watch the real raw of it in the local suburb tournament around the city. They do it raw and old fashion game style of footy. But thanks for coming by. Hope you enjoyed a little
Great video. For the next one, I suggest you play for a one of the local PNG sides in the suburb tournaments. Would make superb viewing. Any viewers in PNG make this possible?
Hi Kirk, you said you're Leeds Rhinos fan, but you don't know Rhys Martin? Rhys is a Papua New Guinea born rugby league player currently playing second-row forward for Leeds Rhinos and there other PNG boys in the likes of Lachlan Lam (halfback), Edwin Ipape (Hooker) playing for Leigh Leopards, Roderick Tai (Center) playing for Warington Wolves, Nixon Put (Second-rower), Sylvester Namo (Front-rower), Liam Horn (Hooker) playing for the Castleford Tigers, Nene Macdonald (Center) playing for Salford Reds, Emmanuel Waine (Prop-forward) playing for the London Broncos and a host of others in the Championship League, in the likes of Keven Appo (forward) playing for Bradford Bulls, Jason Tali (Center cum forward), Watson Boas (Halfback) playing for Doncaster, Edene Gebbie (Fullback) playing for Featherstone Rovers, Wellington Albert (Forward) playing for the Featherstone Rovers...So this is to give you an idea of the PNG contingent over in the UK which is bigger than what it is in the NRL....
You should have gone one step further, and take a video of our filthy habits like chewing buai, throwing rubbish all over the place, smoking every where and where ever we like, poor public transport service, and all the stupid stuff that is going on.. Welcome to this filthy dirty city in the world, Port Moresby.
