can you cut out the sound of the alarm by removing the battery.
If I witnessed someone at a bike and this alarm went off … depending on their stature I think I’d either try to “hey” them away or if they seemed intimidating, record them on video.
What’s most interesting to me is how well this works in a busy place: does it constantly go off when people accidentally brush it? That would be annoying! I’ve pre-ordered a Cowboy and I’m a bit envious of the VanMoof’s integrated acoustic alarm, but I’m not sure yet if this Bordo is a good alternative or if I even need an acoustic alarm.
@@TWOWHEELSGOODmobility in the meantime I’ve opted for the Abus SmartX. It seems to have a smarter alarm, and it also senses when I’m near, and unlocks automatically! But the Abus Bordo 6000a is still a cool product.
Nice....I notice that Van Moof are reselling the non-alarmed version on their website, which , to me, indicates that the design itself should be pretty robust in the first place....but sonic alarm probably more essential now I have watched one of these lock types being hacked you say by the Lockpicking Lawyer on YT. As you say, I am not sure if the alarm sounding would bother anyone who really wanted to take your bike, but you might stand a fighting chance of doing something about it if you were say only at work close to where the bike is stowed.
Agree, my old padlock alarm is enough to wake me up, or call me out of a shop to see what’s going on. It deters simple thieves, kids and chancers. This all in one means I wouldn’t have to carry two keys around.
I do wish that it would send you a text that the alarm was set off.. just incase someone was moving the bike a little so that they could fit their bike in.. that noise would be annoying and you wouldn't know it was going off until you got out side..
You don't have to do any talking to the thief, let Smith and Wesson do the talking for you. 😉 Thanks for the review. Be well.👍😎
Decibles?
Maybe better with a 25 euro separate alarm with remote.
For demonstration purposes, you want to shake it as little as possible still making it go off. I am sure the use of an angle grinder shakes it less than you did. Still, thank you.
Someone with an angle grinder is clearly not going to care about an alarm anyway.
@@Dark__Thoughts Let me tell you, they sure as fuck will care about me when I hear my alarm go off.
Why wouldn't a thief just remove the battery

Is this the 90 or the 120 cm?
That's the 90.
Too noisy and 99% it s accidental. The sound should be audited and this is a very bad lock as too noisy for 99%.
