This kit is definitely a classic, and still holds up alongside the latest offerings. Your dad did an excellent job on this! Not long ago, I was at the local hobby shop, and I saw a couple of kids around 13 looking at a F-4 Phantom kit, and talking about it with the same sense of awe that my friends and I would use when speaking of the P-51 Mustang or F4U Corsair when we were that age. I'm a lifelong St. Louisan, and I've always lived within ten miles of Lambert Airport and the McDonnell-Douglass (now Boeing) campus where these planes were built. To me, the Phantom II is the quintessential American Cold War aircraft. Thanks for sharing this! 4th Like.
