Neil's always got a couple of tracks with some crazy meaning behind them. This one seems to be statement about the insane progression of technology. Just a couple decades ago people were amazed (rightfully so) about this kind of storage. The track's progressing synths make you imagine the unfathomably powerful technology of the future.

Someone in the future’s going to laugh at your comment about how they carry 1000x the storage space in 1/1000th the physical area, and they’ll be just as dumb as you. Also I didn't even touch on the fact that 300mb/s drives existed in commodity desktop PCs in the 90s - that's an incredibly slow speed.

It's basically still the 90's in the sense that your hard drive is 85% full, but just with HD shiny files instead of barebones .txt ones. I guarantee you that in 2055, your new Western Digital 2 Heptabyte SSD will be just as full as your current hard drive, just it will be filled with Super HD 3D VR AI crypto feet pic .big files, that you torrented overnight with your 14Pbps connection.
