This video was so helpful. I was 5 days post lipo, went for post-op check up and told the nurse I was doing fantastic. She thought I was being sarcastic. Lol. Nope. I knew what to expect, I was well prepared, and my recovery was really easy. Watch every one of this man's videos before having surgery. He is 💯 .

6 months post op still upset at the mere fact that I was never given information as to what to expect and what exactly will be done, expectations were not met. Still horribly upset.

I am 3 months post op and i agree. Many doctors do not fully explain recovery! Its sad. I learned most of my recovery process from personal experience and RUclips smh

you are a very thoughtful surgeon to not only be aware of these details but to care enough and have the level of awareness to discuss this.

I’m one week post mommy makeover and extremely depressed. I’m swollen, bruised, and still in pain. I can’t cook and clean and take care of my family like normal. I can’t hold my children. I feel like a horrible mom and wife. And the swelling and drain keep me from being able to wear normal clothes and enjoying my new body.

this is very relevant to having top surgery as a trans person, and I’ve been very worried about post-op depression as I’ve heard it can be awful. thanks for breaking it down so well, understanding it is the first step to conquering it :)

Absolutely! Understanding post-operative depression is an important step in managing it effectively. It's common for individuals, including those undergoing top surgery, to experience a range of emotions during recovery. Remember, you're not alone, and support is available to you. Reach out to friends, family, or support groups for understanding and encouragement. Consider discussing your concerns with healthcare or mental health professionals. Be patient with yourself, practice self-care, and seek support when needed. You're strong, and with the right resources, you can navigate post-operative depression successfully. If you have more questions, feel free to ask. Take care!
