My 3d printed inserts are amazing, but when they get really cold, they basically become hard as a rock. I stick with foams in the snow and inserts the rest of the time.
I would agree with more wear and weather conditions could be a whole different performance, only time will tell us,as always be waiting to seethanks for another video Troy
Thanks Thomas! Yes - in talking with the designer - he think the cold and initial break-in was a factor. Give it some warmer weather and a few runs and it will be just right!
Printed inserts definitely need to be broken in and the plastic/polymer does become hard in cold temps (why I always run a 2-stage foam once temps drop). I find that inserts really need to be super-soft to conform as well as foams but then they start to fold over. Foams seem to conform better but sacrifice side hilling. As usual, comes down to terrain and/or driving style. Where I really love inserts is in the nasty weather, especially snow, mud and water. Inserts don't break down like foams and last a significant amount of time. As I regularly submerge my rigs, that's important to me, lol! Good video 👍
I could buy all the assorted inserts to test them and not blink an eye, they are obsessive to me lol :D Currently using silicon in most of my rigs but looking for lighter options :D
Agree - that is why I made the comments about break-in and temperature later in the video. Confirmed with other viewers who have similar inserts - cold weather doesn't play well with inserts. Since this video, we drove on an indoor crawler course - and the performance was GREAT!
$60 for all 4 you are at the same price range as all other brands. ExocageRc has been my favorite insert’s so far.
Yeah - it gets up there.
He sent me a note talking about dropping the price- so keep an eyeon them.

I think that is what happened in this test. It was COLD outside.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your insights. That is really helpful.

100% agree! I LOVE testing stuff like this. The different design approaches, etc.
What wheels and tires did you use for this comparison video? Love your stuff extremely helpful!
Hi there!
Unfortunately, the wheels have been discontinued. But my son loves them, so we keep using them. :)
These are the tires: alnk.to/ge75XGn
Went to go buy some and there is nothing at all in this company's store and have zero feedback. I wonder if they'll put anymore out
Must have sold out fast!
Shoot him a message. He can even tweak them to your specific diameters, etc.
For us to get those to Canada, thats well over $100. For inserts??
Not gonna happen.
That USD to CAN conversion is rough.
Do you have a more local vendor you can buy from?
watching for my husband this is more Billys thing
🌞have a cool week🔆👍like☑full view✅Diane here for Billy🥸Au🦘*

Looks like a lot more slipped with the inserts the foams look like they’re doing better
