    I am returning back to the Disneyland Railroad in early June of 2023. Prior to that, I am also going to have a cab ride on April 16th 2023 at the Nevada Northern Railway Museum with one of their steam locomotives. The only steam locomotives still currently in service are Nevada Northern 81 and 93.

    Really cool to see them work without the glass on the train car and no audio

    Always love tove the bell coming into the station or hearing the whistle off in the park. I am glad he said how much water they use because I literally just had that question.

    This would be my dream job. I drive Steam locomotives in the UK as a volunteer - Imagine doing it as a career at Disneyland. Amazing.

    So they use the cooking oil but refined. Interesting. Now that saves money.

    How did you get to ride up front

    • @disneykid9393
      @disneykid9393 5 лет назад +5

      you have to ask a conductor at Main street station but you wont always get to ride there, either because its too hot or they have to refill the tender, or a train is being put on or off the main track. you can also ride in the wheel house of the Mark Twain if you ask at the load dock.

      @@emeraldanimations5682 Disney railroads are narrow gauge, and the first engines are of smaller scale than normal (#1 and #2 are 5:8 scale, inspired from at 1864 Central Pacific engine) so the use of oil burning made sense in the more confined space
      also it was cheaper (lots of main lines used oil burners at the time), cleaner to use, burnt cleaner and with a higher efficiency.
