Direct input is not a luxury really. It bypasses the internal bias processing and the signal runs directly into the head preamplifier which ensures a cleaner signal. How does the JVC calibrate to different cassettes? Is there anything else apart from bias fine tune? That seems like a nice machine though - I really like the U-meter that has a digit to display the input level in dB! That is very cool and apart from Teac, I don't think anyone else used it.
@rockhills luxurious stuff ;-) but sometimes. it can be useful. if your amp has not enough inputs. stupid thing is. you can only use those inputs if the cassettedeck is turned on, the monitor switch is at source, and the record levels need to be turned up... it would be only useful if it would directly connect to the line-out of the deck, in my opinion...
Nice review of a nice cassette deck! Does that deck have discrete heads or does it have a combination head? I really like the fact it has a digital display for the peak level - that is a really nice addition. Are you planning on doing another review soon?
Yeah, yeah. These heads also wear out - permalloy. Machine made before 1990. Just don't wet yourself, OK. I was like you, but 25 years ago realized that Naks are the machines to have. Still, forgetting the short comings of these tape decks, you got yourself nice deck.
Nice tape deck, looks high quality, the orange LEDs look really good. I love the song too, Cinderella rocks!
WOW....Thats Cool JVC TD-V621 Stereo Cassette Deck Thats Nice Machine
It seems you shot the deck by the NTSC tape as well.
the call button is to recall the last db over on the top right of the display
It meets the DIN 45 500 standard for HiFi. I don't think I've seen any manufacturer brag about that before. Cool!
@bluenazz it is a song by cinderella, called shake me ;)
nice decks..................

Nice tape deck! Was that an AC/DC track that I've never heard before or was it something else?
