You are right. Chinese tournament are stronger than Olympics. It’s harder to get the second or third place in China than in the Olympics. This young Chinese asset is now ranked 68 and has defeated Felix Lebrone, ranked number 4 and third place at the Olympics and Truls number 11 and Silver Olympics medalist. Only two spots are allowed by country in the Olympics so China with all its array of players is affected. This is a real world tournament where most China assets can be put into play. Another example is Zhou QIHAO that sent home Dima and of course, the now third world ranking Laing Jingqun who is the 3 consecutive third place at the World Championships and who was unable to participate at the Olympics because of the 2 spot restrictions by country; not to mention the GOAT.
@@rodolfofonte1089 True: Ma Long with all his international gold medals (2 olympics, 3 world champs, 3 world cups, numerous grand finals and opens) only won once at the annual China National Championships, given he has participated in it many times.
@@rodolfofonte1089It definitely diminishes the olympics in some way. I feel like they need to change some things. Like top 5 in world rankings are automatically qualified, otherwise if feels like a cultural event rather than a competition.
@@eclipse1161 The truth is that, in some way, it’s the reality. Congrats Xiang Peng and Team China! ❤Compare to other older players like Ma Long, he is short of the ability to adapt and be in control of the rhythm of the game. I'm sure he will be able to build up his confidence as he plays more matches at the top level. 加油!
Clearly you do not play high level table tennis. The Pen hold grip is great for inside the table. There is more wrist movement. The BH is usually the weakness of the Pen hold grip. But Felix learned or copied Wang Hao's (Reverse Penhold Backhand) (RPB). During the 90's. The Chinese studied the Handshake grip and found that it's more stable and has more power. Therefore, abandoning the Pen hold grip.

The European people LOVE Table tennis....
From Sweden..
Xiang Peng plays in France, in Pro A...
