Fun fact, they interviewed a real hitman once and asked what's the most accurate depiction of a hitman in a movie. He said, Leon in the professional. Movies always show these fancy well dressed hitmen in suits driving exotic supercars. Most of the time it's just a regular guy living alone barely making ends meet.
I'm assuming he was caught? Not all hitman are the same. I've watche cases dealing with mafia hitman and then something on TV where a guy from the hood in a gang took out multiple people and only finally got caught for one.
A lot of the mythology is probably based around The Day of the Jackal, where the sophisticated assassin is paid a huge amount of money because of the high profile of the target and the fact he can never work again. There probably are a few guys like that around, but yeah, your typical hitman is probably a very unsophisticated type living from job to job.
Actually she had nothing to do with his death. Even by going to the police it wasn't Matilda. It was the job Leon did on the gang where the police guys were doing business and were also killed. That is when the lead police officer heard that someone saw an italian guy committing it. That is when the police leader visited Leon's boss who then gave him out to them.
@TheShqipe98 He's gonna die no matter what. and he knows who's the killer anyway, especially in the scene we're he raid the chinese men and remember the cop suspect was also there?
@TheShqipe98 Dude. You should watch the movie again. Leon died because of the raid he did on the chinese gang. There were the drug dealer cops at that time and they also died. That is when the cop gets angry. Because his men died. When Matilda tried to attack him he actually told her he didn't give a shit as he has many enemies. But the hit that Leon did on the chinese and the drug dealing cops made him angry and as someone heard or saw an italian guy he immediately went to Leon's boss. He enters when the boss' daughter has his birthday. They beat him up off screen and he gives out Leon and his adress. Then they start the invasion.

You can really see the battle between Leon and The Professional here. The Pro knows not to get involved, lay low. Leon, the human being, of course, knows that he has to get involved
I love how nobody mention the soundtrack, Serra is so talented and the music is as important as the acting, especially in thi scene, just like in The big Blue
The handgun the Professional is carrying is a customized long slide Radom pistol with a compensator . Made in Poland , super accurate and a very reliable 9mm . There are versions which are selective fire / full auto with 25 round magazines , suppressors and shoulder stocks . Have a nice day .
Gary Oldman, a versatile actor, he look so badass and at the same time such a jerk, and then , boom he plays commissioner Gordon in Nolan's batman trilogy.
People think about the actors and I understand, but the music takes you on this trip of despair, isolation, solution and absolution. It is the music that carries the scene, don't forget that.
Out of all the G1 Transformers characters to be on screen wielding a gun, I would have assumed that it would be one of the Deceptions holding Megatron in his gun mode. But perhaps they chose the scene with Snarl because of the audio also playing with it.
Whoa. What a movie of the ages. One of a kind. The very best of Luc Besson, Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman and Dan Aiello. Well paced drama and human infringement thriller with guts and glory. I love this film!

R.I.P Benny heard your story and made me cry. For me in this movie it seemed to me like you had great acting abilities. And in the movie you played a bad cop. In real life was a hero firefighter. God rest you and all the other brave firefighters who lost there lifes on September 11 2001.
Really ? You find this movie heartbreaking ? I thought it ended exactly like it should with Leon sacrificing himself for Matilda and still protecting her by taking out the Gary Oldman corrupt Cop.
It was heartbreaking cause of how her and her little brother were living with such shitty people, then poor lil guy gets killed too, you got to feel for Matilda, shit I cried with her when she was telling leon that her bro was only 4 years old 😢. Such a good movie definitely don't make em like this anymore
In his profession, it's all about his own kind, pawns on a board. Now, the complication of those....those PEOPLE in the way. Sadly, this scene imitates LIFE too closely. Ask anyone in the system!
'Benny' in this scene was played by Keith A Glascoe, who was also a New York City fireman as well as an actor. He was tragically killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Amazing film.

0:56 can the act of relief ever be better acted than in this scene? even as a child there was written "future oscar award winner" all over natalie portman's face
Great move. I expected a father daughter like relationship between Matilda and Leon but Mathilda was in love with him. That kinda added a different dynamic to the movie.

I remember watching this movie for the first time on TV. I remember watching this scene and feeling her desperation this movie truly was a work of art.
You can really see the battle between Leon and The Professional here. The Pro knows not to get involved, lay low. Leon, the human being, of course, knows that he has to get involved
This movie is one of my favorites. Natalie, Gary and Jean were amazing.
Great movie, Great chemistry between Jean Reno and 12-year-old Natalie Portman in her debut.
Looks like a Beretta 92.
@Darryn S.G.P. lmao so fucking random
in this comment section everybody is a professional
Nope, that’s a Beretta 92.
@@blazinpuffs that’s because it is a Beretta 92.
Gary Oldman, a versatile actor, he look so badass and at the same time such a jerk, and then , boom he plays commissioner Gordon in Nolan's batman trilogy.
Wow. Thanks for the Google search post. Amazing. How do you manage such incredible things? Your knowledge is beyond amazing. Earth shattering in fact.
yeah, I didn't recognize him when I was watching Batman. Took me some time to connect the dots :D
Kal El yeah commissioner Gordon another badass jerk. :p So what you are trying to say is Gary Oldman is great at playing badass jerks.
Gary Oldman is just the best
He was Churchill too.
People think about the actors and I understand, but the music takes you on this trip of despair, isolation, solution and absolution.
It is the music that carries the scene, don't forget that.
Imagine if Leon had opened the door, grabbed the bags and said "thanks for the groceries, kid" and then shut the door in her face.
Never noticed when she turned on the TV, the cartoon character also pulled out a gun.
Clever
yeah this is why gotta watch good movies many times- always explore som. new ;-) nice day
Out of all the G1 Transformers characters to be on screen wielding a gun, I would have assumed that it would be one of the Deceptions holding Megatron in his gun mode. But perhaps they chose the scene with Snarl because of the audio also playing with it.
Gary Oldman was fantastic in this movie. In my opinion, he should had been nominated for an academy award.
Whoa. What a movie of the ages. One of a kind. The very best of Luc Besson, Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman and Dan Aiello. Well paced drama and human infringement thriller with guts and glory. I love this film!
I last saw this movie 15 years ago and for some reason, the bit where he says 'bingo' and the way he says it stuck with me. I still say it when something good happens - people think I'm mad haha.
People used to say it.
Don't forget when he says 'Thai'. How an actor can get so much into one syllable is an=mazing!
This is not a "feel good" movie, but damn.... it's so good.
R.I.P Benny heard your story and made me cry. For me in this movie it seemed to me like you had great acting abilities. And in the movie you played a bad cop. In real life was a hero firefighter. God rest you and all the other brave firefighters who lost there lifes on September 11 2001.
Gary Oldman.....brilliant, brilliant.....no words 🤐👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lol little girl crying on his doorstep and Leon just watching for ages before letting her in 😂
This movie is just heartbreaking and amazing at the same time 👏👏👏
I like how Leon was acting like a corned animal here, so not used to indicesion
Corn
@kaltes herz Well, corned beef IS corned animal. :-)
In his profession, it's all about his own kind, pawns on a board. Now, the complication of those....those PEOPLE in the way.
Sadly, this scene imitates LIFE too closely. Ask anyone in the system!
I'm undecided about telling you It's indecision.
@kaltes herz I'm guessing you don't know how to spell indecision either then
one of the best movies of all time
I love the vibe espically the frenchy tone
@@chicuongvu1806 Definitely, you can almost smell the B O
@@macman975 what is B O?
For sure!
2:24 dude just saved his own life
The acting, the writing, the action, just sublime. One of my favourite movies.
Her desperation on her face for him to answer the door is so convincing!
I've always loved this movie and thought it was extremely underrated.
Natalie Portman is outstanding in this movie. So young and talented. She's was born a natural actress.
This is such an interesting movie. Complicated love between Leon and the kid is also a good touch.
This has to be 1 of the greatest movies of all time
It is.
'Benny' in this scene was played by Keith A Glascoe, who was also a New York City fireman as well as an actor. He was tragically killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Amazing film.
That's honestly mind blowing I wish peace upon his soul as a fire fighter I'm sure he helped others to the very end special guy and a special film all the little things make such a difference what a crazy world we live in. Love to everyone of every race religion and creed I hope everyone has a wonderful day ❤
real heroe
this is how my cat literally acts when I close the door to my room
Probably one of the finest films ever made. This is in my top 10.💯
Masterfully shot. Especially the last scene, when the sirens stop just at the moment Stan was turning around to give his plain, yet ominous explanation to his subordinate.
One of the best films yet. Luc is a genius.
A 13 year old kid is pulling off that scene... Simply un-be-li-av-able!
More like 11!
@@lulub1433 incredible
@@lulub1433 11 when signed, 12 when filming, 13 during that interview.
Can we just agree that Gary Oldman is the best actor that ever lived
He's incredible!
Starting to watch this movie I expected to see Léon committing a murder before finding a way to end this part of his life.
I never thought the complete film would happen only in this house.
At the end I realized having watched one of the best movies ever. :)
Lay off the drugs
quite possibly my favorite movie of all time.. watched this movie so many times when i was a kid
Best scene and key scene of the whole movie. Everything revolves around this.
This movie has been heavily underrated for years and I'm glad now that it's getting the recognition ot deserves as a cult classic.
Her acting is AMAZING!
Fun fact: that apartment is still standing even after Gary Oldman finished chewing the scenery.
Because he had no time for this MICKEY MOUSE BULLSHIT
Yes, but don't you love the chewing!
I never knew who Jean Reno was before watching this movie. Fantastic role and acting. Aside from a superb cast , the writers and director did a remarkable job in making this film. Gripping story. The movie should have received an award.
0:56 can the act of relief ever be better acted than in this scene? even as a child there was written "future oscar award winner" all over natalie portman's face
The light on her face when door opend
The director is geniese ❤❤👍👍
Literally the most stressful minute of my life when I first saw this movie.
It’s the cops outside...we better go!
it’s the outside we better go.. you stay here”
what’da i tell em”
tell them we were doing...our...job!😂😂
Great move. I expected a father daughter like relationship between Matilda and Leon but Mathilda was in love with him. That kinda added a different dynamic to the movie.
Jean Reno was Johnny Hallydays best mate for many years until. Johnny's passing and he still remains faithful to Johnny Hallydays memory. Jean Reno Top Man... Superb actor in The French Cinema....!!!!!!!
They say no story ever started good with a glass of milk. They could have never been so wrong.
LOL You are right. Makes me think of the opening scene in Inglorious Bastards.
No great story has ever started with a glass of milk*
*laughs in mechanical orange*
Clockwork Orange
Rene Adrian Romero never ever heard that a story never started good with a glass of milk. Never heard that in my life 38 years. :p So you are lying!
@@donvandamnjohnsonlongfella1239 Quentin Tarantino answered that when he was asked , "why did his movies have so much violence in them?"
A brilliant performance from the legendary Gary Oldman
One of the best scenes ever. Love this movie
The light from the door opening and the relief is the moment.
her acting for that age was amazing
This scene was actually tense for me I never almost get tense from films
Opens the door..
“YOU GOT THE WRONG APARTMENT!”
*Slams door*
- Looks out peephole again. 😏
The film is a mark in the history of cinema and a mark in my heart, the love of John Reno and the love of the years
my favorite actor is JOHN Reno
So underated . Great movie. We need a sequel to this
Feels like RUclips recommendations reads my mind. I was just thinking about this movie last week. And here this video pops up. Not to mentioned I was thinking of this exact scene.
